Album of Forgotten Memories and Imaginary Tales During this course we had to come up with memories which would help us time travel. Memories are things that we can trassure for a lifetime. All of us shared our memories and learnt a lot about each other. During this module we were taught to narrate our memories in different ways. We were given the freedom to chose the medium through which we can tell our stoories.
Tunes through time I was always facinated by the way in which my taste of music changed over the years. My dad always pushed me towards listening to music. So music has been a friend for a long time. I wanted to come up with an model through which i could show this change. I came up with three ideas through which i could tell about my change in taste of music.
The walls of my room are filled with music posters which have changed over the years. A scaled down model of my room can be used to show this change.
My computer was the device that opened my door to the world of music. I store all all the music i listen to in my computer. A model of a computer with a changing screeen can be used to show this change.
My ipod is an device which has my favourite playlists. My playlists go through a lot of change which can be shown through a model of an ipod.
Final Model
Walk into ones childhood bedroom an you walk into a fragment of their lives preserved in a 10 by 10 concrete block. Filled with memories. My room has always been the ‘bachelor’s pad of our home, passed down through generations from my grandfather to his son to me. And like anybody elses room Its has a wall filled with posters of my favourite musicians. Posters that changed as I grew up and my songs changed. This change is like a travel in time, watching my taste in music evolve. This slow yet noticeable change is what i wish to portray in my model. The changing music posters on the wall to depict the various times in my life.
My final model was an scaled down model of my room in kolkata. The model was made using paper, cardboard, mdf and sun board. One of the walls had a rolling mechanism through which i could show that the change of music posters in my room.
A breath of Udaipur Udaipur was my first trip with my college friends after coming to Gandhinagar. It is a very memorable trip for me. During this trip i had taken pictures using which i wanted to narrate the story of my trip. The pictures will be made into slides which will be projected using a projector.
Design developments of the projector and its working mechanism
Making of the storyboard.
Final Model
Short trips with friends are like breaths of fresh air while settling into new places. So was my first trip to Udaipur as I settled into my new city. A quick weekend that culminated into good food and great culture that is captured in the many photographs. This trip and it’s highlights are what I am sharing using a projector and laser cut slides of the silhouettes in the photographs.
The pictures taken by me during the trip were vectorised and then cut on cardboard using lazer cutting. These cutout were the slides through which i would narate the story using the projector.
Trip to Sidhpur Sidhpur is place two three hours away from ahmedabad. It is a small town which was known for Bohravads. The Bohra Muslims are an affluent Muslim community who made significant contributions to the development of Sidhpur. This town is a major center for Bohra Muslims who primarily live abroad and visit their ancestral homes on important social occasions. Otherwise, a caretaker looks after their house. The wealthy Bohra built these Victorian mansions in the late 19th-early 20th centuries. Walking down the street with Victorians painted in pastel hues on both sides, we felt as if we had been dropped into England or on a movie set. The Borah houses had intricate, wood details and each house expressed the owner’s creativity. This place had elements which will make u travel back in time.
