On Purpose Women’s Network (OPWN) is a mentoring and networking organization for Women 18 + who feel the leading and calling for Christian ministry. Pastor, Teacher, Evangelist are common ministry areas but there is ministry in writing, performing arts and the marketplace such as corporate or entrepreneurial endeavors. We realize for many of us, our business is our ministry!!! At OPWN, we define ministry as any act of service that is motivated by the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ multiplied on the earth and the goodness of God on display through our ministry. OPWN was founded out of a sincere desire to see women move forward in fulfilling their God-given destiny. We come from diverse cultures, denominations and experiences but we commonly share a desire to please Jesus!
Through membership, you can get involved in 3 ways: 1. Become an On Purpose Mentor to a less experienced female in ministry 2. Become an On Purpose Mentee and work with your Mentor to achieve your ministry goals 3. Become an On Purpose Group Leader in your community and help women discover and fulfill their God-given purpose

The ‘ME’ in Relationships Terri M. Bolds, MS, LPC
“Treat others as you would want to be treated”, “Love your brother as you love yourself”. Both are sayings we have heard our whole lives, the latter being biblical. What if you don’t know how you want to be treated? What if you don’t know how to love? What if you don’t love yourself? We are traditionally groomed on how to treat others based off the thoughts and but somehow, the part about knowing
thyself was lost in the process. In order to have a functional and healthy relationship of any kind with another individual, you must first know yourself. Our experiences shape who we are as individuals. Knowing how your experiences shaped who you are is imperative to thrive.
The inability to correlate thoughts to behaviors; patterns, is damaging. So in order for one to treat someone else how they would want to be treated, they have to tune into themselves, acknowledge their wants, and needs. In order for one to love their brother as they love themselves, one must first distinguish if they actually love themselves. This may seem elementary but is actually perplexed in nature due to the fact that people have a tendency to simply do what they are told or
what they have learned rather than exercising self-exploration. While the before mentioned sayings are good idealisms, they are pointless without knowing thyself. Take some time and learn who you are in order for you to present your best self to the next person. First impressions are lasting, so who are you presenting to the world? Someone who is broken or one who is confident in their existence and able to uplift that of their brother or sister?

Do you have problems? Each day we wake up to countless problems. Some are small and easy to solve while other can be life altering and leave us feeling broke and broken.
So how can your problems be a vehicle to launch you into your destiny?  Forgive Ephesians 4:32 reads ‘Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you’. This, at times, can be a hard. Someone may hurt you deeply and leave scares that will be with you for a lifetime. Scares may be both seen and unseen. It is important to remember that the forgiveness is not for the offender. It does not mean that you allow yourself to fall victim again, but it does mean that the offense and
anger are no longer your focus. You then are able to focus on things and people that bring you joy and positivity. If you choose to hold on to anger and negativity you may look at everyone and every situation as if you have lost before you begin. And you are what you see!!! ***So remember, forgiveness evicts negativity and creates vacancies for positivity in all areas of your life. This is the first step to using your problems to position you for greatness.***
Believe Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. In life, it is easy to get discouraged. We face issues daily, but we must not stop believing. So how do you fight back against unbelief? Be a custodian of your mind by not allowing anything that is contrary to your belief to stay in your thoughts. For example, if you believe that you are happy, when a sad thought comes, don’t allow that thought to make itself at home in your mind. By allowing a negative thought to stay you invite more negative thoughts to take root in your mind. Instead, refocus your thoughts to something that brings you peace and happiness. When you do this consistantly you will begin to see doors opening to allow you to move
into your place of destiny. Your story will be motivation for someone with a similar past who may be near giving up, but because of your overcoming testimony, they find renewed strength for the fight.
Work Diligently Work: Exertion or effort directed to produce or accomplish something. Diligent: Constant in effort to accomplish something; attentive and persistent in doing anything. (Dictionary.com)
Proverbs 13:4 A sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied. It is great to truly believe in our destiny. We may wish to own a business, become superstars, & have nice things in life, but are you willing to do the work it takes to reach that goal? It is easy for us to look at a famous movie star and say ‘I wish I had all that’, but I’m sure if you had an honest conversation with that star they
will have plenty of stories to tell about the ups and downs they have experienced in life. Consistantly working with diligence may be difficult when you are going through life’s problems and don’t see immediate return, but remember to keep your eye on your beliefs until they manifest. Don’t allow destractions to get you off course. Don’t focus on your failure focus in your future. As you continue to keep your focus you will begin to see that all of your problems were neccesary to create your path to

Founder, Developing Butterflies
Non-Profit
Gena McDonald of Dayton is Founder of Developing Butterflies Big Sister Program. She is a single mother to her son who is a freshman at Central State University and daughter who is a sophomore at Ponitz Career Technology Center. She has a Bachelor Degree in Applied Behavioral Science and is a Community Health Worker.
Developing Butterflies is a big sister program currently servicing young ladies ages 14-19 in the Montgomery County area
Our mission is to help transform young ladies into Loving Women & Mothers that they are destined to be by providing a relatable image that offers knowledge, encouragement, and guidance. We do this by providing group mentoring sessions, goal setting assistance, and support in all areas of life. The program is designed in the same four stages of how a butterfly develops; egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, and butterfly. In the egg stage we focus on self (worth, motivation, determination). In the caterpillar stage we focus on goals (personal, academic, and career). In the chrysalises stage we focus on (parenting, preventing pregnancy, and budgeting/finance).. In the butterfly stage we focus on becoming a butterfly (appearance, etiquette, and a ceremony of completation). The program runs for 10 months. We meet 3 Wednesday out a month from 6-8pm. Each stage is covered over a 3 month period focusing on each topic for a month. Every Wednesday has an agenda assigned to it. In the future our goal is to run the organization as a year round program. We also plan on expanding the age range to 12-21 years of.
What was your motivation to start a non Profit? My personal life experiences. I strive to share my own experiences, motivate, and encourage the young ladies in our community to understand they have the ability to create the life they want. I teach that their environment or circumstances do not define who or what their future holds. I want to help young ladies realize that they too can make better choices and decisions to have a different outcome just as I have. I have a little saying, I could continue to wear the same shoes that my mother wears (to repeat the cycle) or I can decided to change those shoes! And that is what I did I put on my stilettos and am walking a different path.
What is your greatest accomplishment to date? My greatest accomplishment is stepping out on faith and starting Developing Butterflies.
If you would like more information, you have a services to offer, or make a donation you can call us at 937-985-1272 or you can email us at developingbutterfliesbsp@gmail.com.
