Holistic Healthy Living Yamika Leeper-Stephens Your lifestyle could be preventing you from healthy living. When you think about healthy living does the word “balance” come to mind? Healthy living is about creating balance in our daily lives in order to achieve an optimal level of well-being. Your Lifestyle (YLS) Fitness & Exercise Coaching promotes healthy living by practicing balance from a holistic perspective. A holistic approach allows one to connect and link all aspects of a person. Healthy living is not often achieved by addressing one aspect of health. Physical health alone doesn’t create a healthy lifestyle if proper eating habits are not practiced as well. One cannot practice positive self-talk without addressing the thoughts of the mind. Strength is not achieved without the belief that one has the capability to persevere. Emphasizing the importance of balance reiterates integration of what influences healthy living. Being able to balance and incorporate the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, financial, and intellectual health into daily practices influence and determine if one is living a healthy lifestyle. Through these daily practices a “balanced” lifestyle is created. If your lifestyle prevents you from healthy living look to see where there is imbalance. Evaluate current daily practices and prioritize you. Your Lifestyle Fitness is now and it begins with you! YLS Fitness & Exercise Coaching 9

Be Your True Self Ebony Stroud

Sometimes people try so hard to be some one they weren't created to be. It is very disheartening to see someone who is comfortable with being a mediocre imitation of someone else, and uncomfortable with being who they truly are. Being your true self does not mean acting on every impulsive thought you ponder. It simply means you are able to search for and embrace who you are designed to be without feeling guilty about it. This is often easier said than done because it requires you to love every part of your being; the good, the bad, and in some cases the unlovely. Loving every part of yourself doesn't mean to be arrogant or to resist growth, rather embracing it. Growth is essential in the journey to becoming the true you. Loving yourself simply means to embracing your total self in love and having the strength to forgive yourself. Becoming your true self can be extremely rewarding. It may sound clichÊ, but pursuing the true you definitely adds value to your life and the lives of those around you. It is my belief that we were created to fulfill a certain purpose (Jeremiah 29:11). There is no one else in the whole universe who can adequately fulfill your life’s purpose like you! So how do you find your purpose? Pursue your passion because it will lead you to your purpose!

Why He Won’t Ask You Out, Again! Beverly Bozeman

Looking for happily ever after? There’s a good chance that it’s out there for you. It may not seem like it when you can never get a second date let alone a third or a fourth. Have you had that honest conversation with yourself about your dating life? More specifically, the reasons why you’re not getting a second date?

Maybe the following reasons will help you out.

1. Treating him like an ATM. If a guy asks you out, then he is obligated to pay for the cost of the date. However, he is not obligated to financially support you. Men will lose your number if they feel that you’re dating them for money.

12

2. Gossiping or negative talk. We as women have a habit of calling up our girlfriends and sharing the latest dirt or sob stories. However, no man wants to hear all of that when he is trying to date you. He needs to see the best of you not gutter talk. 3. Being too serious. This has a two-fold meaning. A.-In terms of you never having any fun. Men have problems too but we have a tendency to take on everyone’s care and forget about ourselves. They love to be around women who make them feel at ease and forget about life’s issues for a while. B.-Being too serious in terms of the progression of your dating. Constantly asking him how he feels about you or where he sees you two going, is grounds for the dreaded “I’ll call you later.” By the way it never comes. Men HATE being pressured about anything, especially something that’s supposed to be fun like dating. 4. No connection. This is pretty simple….he’s not feeling you. That’s why he won’t ask you out again. Why doesn’t he just say so? He doesn’t want to be the bad guy or doesn’t want to hear/see you cry. There’s nothing worse than the drama of a rejected woman. These are very simple reasons why men don’t ask women out on repeat dates. Take a few minutes and evaluate your dating behavior to find out if these are a part of yours. If so, there’s always a way to fix it, you just have to be willing to put forth the effort. 13

Living With Relationships Demetria Hill Cannady

Relationships are the one thing that we don’t have a choice in because we are born into them. Our first relationship is between mother and child. This relationship will establish the initial foundation of relationships with others. The foundation of relationships modeled to us by our mothers is that of attachment, love, trust, and communication. These are essential to our daily existence from infancy to through death. Our mother, our first model for relationships, can/should form a secure attachment bond with us; she can display the secure attachment by soothing us when we cry, making us laugh, sharing in our excitement, hugs, kisses, soft touch, and when she leaves us for a period of time and returns when she stated that she would. This forms a secure attachment, as well as, displays a portion of what “love” looks like. You care for, hug, kiss, and show up (directly and indirectly) for those you love.

Living With Relationships Cont.

We also have professional relationships which affects your work/career life. Most people spend at least eight hours a day on a job, so work relationships are important. For a smooth working relationship, you need to be able to communicate with and trust those around you.

Good communication skills leads to success in relationships of all kinds. Communication is important because it allows you to express your wants, needs, desires, dislikes, dreams, and ultimate goals. The most important of all is your spiritual relationship which can impact all the other relationships. Your spiritual relationship governs how you treat people, communicate with people, trust, and love people. It’s difficult to have any relationship without these key components. It is important to remember that one must be open to allowing people to love you and you to reciprocate that love.

Does your business have a Comprehensive Marketing Strategy?

Marketing is a vital part of the success of a business. It is a major aspect of the business plan. In short marketing is how a business communicates the value and cost to its target audience. Here are a few Marketing Basics: 1. Create a plan. A plan gives you and your team a clear vision of where you are going. Having a plan also gives you more time and energy to monitor for bumps in the road.

2. Set weekly goals. The marketing strategy should include an action plan with weekly goals broken down. This allows you to focus more clearly on tasks-at-hand, which will increase the quality of work. 3. Focus on your target. Every move that a business makes is done with the target audience in mind. Get to know your target. What are their likes and dislikes? What do they have to say about you product or service? This allows you to create a more pleasurable experience and gives your customers a clear voice.

Woman To Watch

Jessica Watters President of Noir Marketing + PR

NoirMarketingandPR.com

As a woman, I define “empowerment” as the permission to boldly go into the world and pursue your own happiness. Don’t ask permission! Don’t wait to see what other people are doing. Decide what’s best for you – and then go do it. Things may not work out the first time but that’s okay. Pick yourself up and keep moving. 20
