The greatest Jewish story began at the foot of a mountain. Join us to write its epic next chapter.
“Israel encamped there opposite the mountain [to receive the Torah].” —EXODUS, 19
Why does the verse refer to the entire nation in the singular form: “Israel”? Because, despite the diversity of paths they took to come here, at this place they camped “as one man with one heart,” deeply united in their eagerness to encounter the Divine. —BASED ON THE MIDRASH
“Love G-d, love the Torah, love every Jew unconditionally, for the three loves are one.” —THE LUBAVITCHER REBBE in declaring a global
mission statement for the Chabad movement

Vail, Colorado World-class ski town, delightful local culture— epic Jewish community.
In 2006, Rabbi Dovid and Doba Mintz brought Chabad’s trademark brand of joyful Judaism to Vail, offering it to fellow Jews, regardless of background and affiliation. Chabad of Vail started meeting in a private home and with time moved to a larger rented space. In a remarkably short time, Chabad’s warm and welcoming services grew into a lively Jewish community shared by local families, seasonal residents and international tourists.
local jewish life For scores of local families, Vail Chabad is the second home they didn’t know they craved.
“From my first coffee with Rabbi Dovid in West Vail, I knew Chabad was what we were looking for in a religious experience.” GILDA KAPLAN
A full calendar of synagogue services gives men and women a sense of personal connection to their heritage and a way to express it meaningfully. Through our Torah discovery sessions— JLI course offerings, women’s luncheons, Distinguished Lecture Series—adults establish lasting appreciation for the whats, whys and hows of Jewish living. Our vibrant Hebrew school engages more than 40 eager children with meaningful, experiential learning. Dozens more attend Yeladim Club, Mommy & Me, Mini-chefs, Aleph Art Room and Jewish Story Hour at the Vail Library. Lifecycle support guides students to Bar/Bat Mitzvah, couples to start a Jewish home and families through times of joy or loss.
seasonal celebration To Vail’s vibrant community of vacation-home owners, Chabad is a welcome retreat for experiencing, and authentically celebrating Judaism.
“As transplants to the Vail Valley, with our family so far away, the Chabad Center is our holiday celebration home away from home.” DR. JILL SQUYRES
With a celebration for every season, Chabad is a welcoming family for holiday traditions, events and discovery. English-friendly High Holiday services draw upwards of 300 participants with diverse backgrounds, interests and familiarity. Our annual “Ski-norah” Lighting, Purim Bash and Vail Passover Seders are now popular features of Vail culture. A weekly Shabbat dinner builds community by turning past guests into new hosts, sharing the welcome with every new visitor.
everyday energy Vail attracts many thousands of thrill-seeking tourists to its world-famous slopes. At Chabad, they are thrilled to find a high of a different kind.
“For a destination resort like Vail, Chabad has filled a large void and continues to expand its vision, outreach, and mission all due to the boundless energy of Rabbi Mintz and Doba.” DR. STEPHEN BELL
Whether they show up in ski boots or business suits, our innovative online “Minyan-Maker” unites fellow Jews from across the globe. Tourists are delighted to order gourmet Kosher meals to their hotels or join our famous Shabbat Cholent Kiddush at Chabad. Our acclaimed Lecture Series with iconic speakers from around the world has some tourists planning their trip to be in town.
our home is your future Isn’t it time to channel the momentum of the past into a monument that will last?
Today, thanks to Chabad, Vail is a delightfully diverse hub of Jewish education, tradition and celebration. No matter our backgrounds, all are welcome to explore, discover and observe to their soul’s desire. And yet, at the end of the day…
Like a jubilant skier after a day on the runs, we know the power of an ultimate “basecamp”—a prominent and permanent home to welcome locals and visitors alike with pure, invigorating Jewish warmth.
