Home For The Acade my
It began in 1979 in a small storefront and has since blossomed into a network of six community centers spanning the Conejo Valley. From synagogues to schools, the “Friendship Circle” to the nationally-recognized Conejo Jewish Academy; Chabad of the Conejo has been at the forefront of developing one of the most dynamic and flourishing Jewish communities in the western United States. With its warm and inviting approach, Chabad is a place where people from all walks of life – regardless of background, affiliation or level of observance – feel welcome and at home. With the pride of success came the challenges of growth. Overflow crowds and burgeoning enrollments coupled with tight space and limited facilities escalated the urgent need for more spacious and conducive quarters to serve as the central hub of Chabad activities in the region. For almost three decades, Chabad of the Conejo has dreamed of the day it would build a major campus—buzzing with the laughter of children, the pursuit of knowledge and the spirit of community. That day has arrived…
Join us for the inaugural Fall Semester in our new home and enjoy this most magnificent state-of-the-art learning facility.

The nation of freed slaves make their way from their exile in Egypt to the foot of Mount Sinai where the Revelation takes place and the receiving of the Ten Commandments and the Torah. From there they are to make their way to the Promised Land – the Land of Israel. Catastrophe strikes yet again – a revolution in the making and the Jewish people are thrown into chaos causing a 40 year delay and the wandering in the wilderness. What brought this about? Join us on Wednesday afternoons and we will study as the dramatic Biblical story unfolds. You are invited to join this study group at any time during the semester.

3 Wednesdays, 8 p.m. Nov. 2, 9, 16 Rabbi Shlomo Bistritzky The Academy – Center for Jewish Life $18.00
Prayer provides each of us with the profound ability to communicate with G-d. Moreover, it serves as a powerful means for personal introspection and contemplation of the world. Nevertheless, prayer and the function of the Synagogue can often raise many questions regarding our understanding and relationship with G-d. Join Rabbi Shlomo for an open discussion on one of the fundamental, yet perhaps most misunderstood, tenets of Judaism. > does G-d answer our prayers? > do our prayers really make a difference? > why was jewish prayer formalized into the siddur? > isn’t formal prayer repetitive? > what if i don’t find services inspiring? > ever feel like you have the “what page are we on in the prayer book” blues?
