CHABAD CENTER for JEWISH LIFE C A P I TA L

CAMPAIGN

Our Guiding Light Chabad is a global movement of joyful Jewish education and community connection driven by the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson. With his profound love for humanity and boundless optimism, the Rebbe launched an unprecedented range of Jewish institutions, programs and social services. Chabad of the Shore, together with tens of thousands of emissaries and volunteers of all denominations continue the Rebbe’s mission to create a world of Goodness, G-dliness and Redemption.

Dear friend We are proud to announce the realization of our shared dream. With G-d’s eternal blessing and the major support of friends such as you, our community has begun building the magnificent new Chabad Center for Jewish Life. On the site of our modest storefront Chabad House, the new Center will be a true home for a future that educates, inspires and empowers our community to discover new levels of spiritual growth and belonging. In addition to a breathtaking future replete with innovative educational programs in all areas of Jewish life, you can imagine for yourself the farreaching impact the new Center will have as a transformative gift to the Jewish landscape in Monmouth County. We are excited to have you committed and engaged at this special time in our young history. Our work together will undoubtedly unite so many more Jersey Shore residents and students at Monmouth University, deepening the connection to Judaism. We are so honored by your participation in Chabad’s programs of joyous Jewish experiences and education. Your partnership helps us raise Jewish consciousness and share the beauty of our heritage. We look forward to taking the journey with you! With gratitude and anticipation,

RABBI LAIBEL & CHANI SCHAPIRO Co-directors

Soulelevating Study

RENÉE DOEHLER on Chabad’s Adult Education

Torah study on Mondays has not only educated my mind, it

has elevated my soul, enriched my life and given me a deepened sense of faith. I feel part of a wonderful community that

I am proud of. I have an amazing mentor and have made

some lovely friends. Never would I have imagined how

much knowledge and joy I would receive from attending the Monday morning Weekly Women’s Roundtable.

Timeless Tradition

RUSSELL HERMAN on Chabad’s Synagogue Services

Growing up with a conservative affiliation, I never would

have imagined I would be a regular at a place like Chabad. I found out very shortly after arriving how warm and

welcoming the rabbis and congregants are. Additionally, I discovered how meaningful, timeless and applicable the

prayers, studies and traditions are to my everyday life. Only in hindsight can I see how much I needed the spiritual nourishment that the Chabad provides. My family is

extremely grateful to Chabad of the Shore and the Rebbe’s

vision for igniting and fueling our Jewish passion, pride and education. It has enhanced countless aspects of our lives.

Faith & Identity

“

HAYLEY BRAY on Chabad at Monmouth University

Chabad is my home away from home. Friday night dinners, classes and special events are open, warm and welcoming. Participants experience the joy of Judaism. Coming from

a non-religious home, with no knowledge, Chabad made it

possible to start my Jewish journey. Rabbi Yaakov & Rivki

Greenberg helped me not only learn about my Jewish faith but develop a strong Jewish identity. I am forever grateful.

Chabad Center for ewish Life

A DIFFERENT   KIND OF BUILDING  A building for you. For your soul, for your mind. For your hands, for your heart. For your children, for your teens, for your parents. For your special needs brothers and sisters, sons and daughters. For your family, for your community. For the whole you!

Exceptional Friendship

ADRIA C. GLASS on Hand in Hand

Each week without fail, a group of four teenagers come to

our home, two exceptionally dedicated friends for each of our children. Hannah and Connor lived in a very lonely

world, day-in and day-out… they now have a life filled with lots of fun and real friends. And because of the Sunday

Circle, Tom and I get some time alone to talk peacefully

and uninterrupted. (This is something very rare in our world as parents of two autistic children.) We literally

don’t know what we would do without Hand-in-Hand!

Grassroots Growth

“

JENNA USATIN AND FAMILY on Chabad Hebrew School

When we moved back to the area three years ago, we knew

that by choosing Chabad Hebrew School, our daughter would receive the best and most authentic Jewish education. They

have a way of engaging the children and making it fun to learn.

We love how they involve the whole family in every holiday. Our daughter looks forward to Hebrew school every week and is excited to share with us all that she has learned.

Genuine Care

MARSHA GRYVATZ AND FAMILY on Preschool of the Arts

We’re delighted with Preschool of the Arts—a warm,

nurturing environment in which our son is learning through play, music, yoga and art while beginning to understand

the stories and traditions of Judaism. We’ve seen steady

growth with his communication, social and reasoning skills; undoubtedly due to his responsive teachers and staff and

their genuine care for his wellbeing and education. The

difference between the experience here and other places we’ve been privy to is both remarkable and palpable.

Building a center for all of us will take each of us. Chabad of the Shore creates a non judgmental, warm and welcoming atmosphere for people of diverse backgrounds and beliefs, fostering an open and personal Jewish experience. The new Chabad Center for Jewish Life will deepen this ability to embrace and enhance our Jewish identities. And as an iconic building along Ocean Avenue, the Center will invite anyone to walk in and feel as if they’ve always belonged.

Our faith can move mountains. Our unity can move generations. Just as we are bound by faith and culture, we share the responsibility to create an environment in which our Jewish heritage can thrive.

Let’s unite to build a place where all of us can gather as a community, for holidays and life-cycle events, cultural activities and social gatherings.
