Feel the sizzle with some prime suggestions for your next barbecue.

For a small or large group, the grill is a great way to cook in July. The high heat gets food ready quickly and easily. Cooking outside keeps your home cool, and there’s something about the char that just tastes like summer. So many ingredients local to the Hamptons are perfect to pop over the fire right now. Here are some grilling ideas!
This month, farmstands are brimming with ripe produce. A lovely appetizer is bruschetta, using grilled Carissa’s bread, chopped tomatoes, and fresh basil. Grilled vegetables are dairy-free, gluten-free, and delicious. Zucchini and corn are also simple to grill. Each requires a touch of olive oil (preferably Fancy Peasant, produced by Southampton local Anastasia Ganias-Gellin), a sprinkle of salt, and just a kiss of heat. You could add sliced almonds and freshly ground pepper to the zucchini. To the corn, try adding chives, harissa, or smoked paprika.
From the ocean, local fish abound this time of year. Striped bass, tuna, and flounder are being caught off the shores of Montauk. All are delicious sprinkled with our Dry Rub— the actual mixture that my mom sprinkled on almost everything at home growing up.
For more carnivorous palates, burgers and sausage are available for delivery by Baldor. Instead of potato buns, you can slide these meats into grilled pitas sprinkled with za’atar for a Mediterranean flair. Of course, you can’t beat a good rib-eye steak either. For dessert, grill a pie! Pop some pie dough (either premade or homemade) into a buttered metal pan. Peel and chop your favorite summer fruit, combine with cornstarch and sugar, and pour the mixture into the dough. Place the pan on top of another pan (so pie pan is not directly on metal). Cook on the grill until the crust is golden brown, at least 20 minutes, depending on how hot the grill is.
