TEACHING LIFE SKILLS THROUGH STAGE SKILLS Students need a safe place to imagine and express themselves. At the Academy, the subjects we teach such as Improvisation, Movement, and Scene Study naturally provide an opportunity for students to develop skills such as cooperation, resilience, confidence, and self discipline. The skills needed to be successful onstage nurture the skills needed to be successful in life.

OUR TEACHING ARTISTS

Ron founded the Springer Theatre Academy in 1996, and served as Academy Director and Associate Artistic Director of the Springer until his retirement in 2015. Ron’s vision for the Springer Theatre Academy began with “Life Skills through Stage Skills,” which remains the foundation of our teaching philosophy.

Our summer staff is comprised of working actors, directors, theatre teachers and technicians from around the world who are highly skilled at what they do. Our teachers offer students the best training available in the Southeast based on their direct, personal experiences in the business. They are also people who care deeply about young people and are passionately committed to sharing with them the joy and craft of theatre.
