CAST BIOS FROM THE DIRECTOR It’s Christmas at the Springer Opera House Theatre! I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you to our eagerly awaited holiday mainstage production of “Elf the Musical”! This production holds a special place in my heart: it is my first official production as Artistic Director of this landmark, historic theatre. It marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our arts community. Working alongside an exceptionally talented cast and crew has been an absolute joy. The dedication and passion they bring to the stage are genuinely inspiring. I couldn’t have asked for a more committed team for my first production in this new role. Together, we have poured our hearts into bringing the magic of “Elf” to life, and we can’t wait to share it with you. You may have heard we are beginning a new tradition for our musicals and mainstage productions. In the spirit of fostering a deeper connection between our audience and the brilliant individuals who make our shows possible, we are delighted to offer opportunities to engage with cast and crew members while enjoying additional opening weekend preview performances. Springer Unplugged is our live lunch event where you’ll have the chance to meet our talented cast and crew members up close and personal. Another opening weekend event is Springer Encore, a post-Saturday evening performance onstage where we keep the show going with more performances from the cast. And on select Sundays, we’ll answer your questions and share first-hand behind-the-curtain experiences during Springer Speaks, a cast talkback. We hope you will join us for what will become a new Springer tradition each opening weekend. My sincere gratitude goes to our incredible audience, whose unwavering support has made this journey possible. To our patrons, your continued enthusiasm for the arts fuels our determination to deliver exceptional performances. And to our dedicated staff, thank you for your hard work and dedication; your contributions behind the scenes are the backbone of our success. As we embark on this festive season, this is just the beginning. I am committed to upholding the standards of excellence our theater is known for. I promise to continue bringing you performances that capture the imagination and leave a lasting impression with the high-quality entertainment you have come to expect. Springer Opera House Theatre Leadership Danielle Patterson Varner (CEO/Executive Producer) has served the Springer for more than twenty years - first in sales, then development, and finally as managing director. For the past six years, she has managed day-to-day operations, budget tracking, board relations and historic preservation. Varner is a member of the Rotary Club of Columbus, the chair of the Columbus Cultural Arts Alliance and was named one of “Georgia’s Most Influential Leaders” in 2022 and 2023 by Georgia Trend Magazine. Keith Patrick McCoy (Artistic Director) is wellknown among local audiences, actors, designers, technicians and Springer Theatre Academy parents. Over the past thirteen years, he has served the Springer as guest director, actor, choreographer and instructor. In 2023, he was recognized with the Lift Him Up award for outstanding community service and excellence by the Courier Eco Latino, an independent Columbus newspaper. He works to expand outreach efforts, attract new audiences and leads the process of choosing the productions for each season.
