BEET
Beet RED RUBY
Beet
BLUSH BLUSH is a dark red beet with excellent uniformity and colour. For the production of deep red beet leaves, BLUSH has improved depth of colour and retains this colour during warmer production periods. The greater uniformity of leaves in relation to shape and size means BLUSH is a reliable inclusion for salad mixes. Suitable for year round production. BLUSH has good vigour consistently producing high yields of attractive, sweet tasting leaves. Like Ruby Lips the red colour will deepen under cooler conditions.
Beet
CHERRY BLOOD CHERRY BLOOD is dark red beet suitable for inclusion in salad mixes. CHERRY BLOOD is coloured on both sides of the leaf making it ideal for pillow packs where a small number of leaves gives a strong colour effect. A sisterline to Blush, CHERRY BLOOD has slightly less vigour in the cold but shows even stronger tolerance to Pseudomonas than Blush during periods of high pressure such as late Summer/early Autumn.
Beet
RED RUBY RED RUBY is a more vigorous Blush selection, suitable for year round inclusion in salad mixes with a particular advantage in the cool and cold due to extra vigour. RED RUBY has an intense, deep red colour on both the upper-side and under-side of the leaf. The high vigour of RED RUBY ensures faster and more even harvesting and the thick leaf ensures good weight while a slight cupping at maturity ensures bulk when used as a bagged product.
Beet
RUBY LIPS RUBY LIPS is a red-leaved beet variety that is a popular inclusion to salad mix products. The deep purple/red colour provides an excellent colour contrast for green dominated salad mixes. RUBY LIPS can be grown year round but is best suited to cool season production where the leaf colour will be enhanced under conditions of cool temperatures and high light intensity. A reliable variety that grows well under a wide range of growing conditions.

CHARD
Chard SIROCCO
Chard
MISTREL MISTREL is a bright red-stemmed, green chard with thick crunchy leaves that is suitable for inclusion in salad mixes or as a stand-alone product. The leaves of MISTREL are oval shaped with a slightly savoyed texture and wavy leaf margin. MISTREL has high resistance to Cercospera sp. and intermediate resistance to Pseudomonas sp. giving it a premium disease package against leaf spotting. In addition, the leaves hold their colour in warmer conditions and resist leaf miner damage that often discolours other leafy crops. MISTREL is a hybrid.
Chard
ROYAL RED A green chard with bright red stems ideal as an inclusion in salad mixes. ROYAL RED produces a very uniform, even growing crop allowing for ease of harvest. ROYAL RED shows strong tolerance to bacterial spotting, resulting in clean leaves year round. The vivid red stems provide for an unusual colour inclusion in salad mixes while the thick leaves provide texture and weight, even in the faster growing Summer months when the thick leaves allow for extended shelf life.
Chard
SIROCCO SIROCCO is a hybrid green chard with a bright red stem best suited to cool season babyleaf production. SIROCCO shows excellent vigour and uniformity and is a significant improvement in quality and reliability of chard production. Although SIROCCO can be grown year round it has its biggest advantage in the cool and cold of Winter/Spring where the hybrid vigour reduces time to harvest. The red stems of SIROCCO are a ‘low-bleed’ risk - a problem often associated with beets when grown for babyleaf.

KALE
Kale TWISTY
Kale
HUNTER HUNTER is a cavolo nero that may be used for babyleaf production. HUNTER has an upright growth habit allowing for ease of harvest and also ensures good airflow through the crop during damp periods aiding in keeping mildew at bay. HUNTER has a dark green leaf that becomes thick as it matures. While HUNTER will continue growing to become a full sized kale, its leaf uniformity gives high yields when harvested at babyleaf stage. HUNTER has shown good tolerance to mildew in trials but will suffer in periods of high pressure.
Kale
RED RUSSIAN RED RUSSIAN is a tall, upright kale with green leaves which have light purple stems and veins. The leaf margins are heavily serrated in a similar way to Mizuna. RED RUSSIAN is fast to grow making it an ideal variety for cool and cold conditions when the purple colour intensifies. If grown for babyleaf in warmer conditions RED RUSSIAN will mature as quickly as Mizuna and Mibuna and will need to be monitored closely so as not to miss harvest. RED RUSSIAN is an excellent inclusion to kale mixes alongside Hunter and Twisty.
Kale
TWISTY TWISTY is a curled kale suitable for babyleaf production. TWISTY can be grown year round and shows strong tolerance to downy mildew in the cooler months. TWISTY is middark green in colour and produces high numbers of uniform leaves making it ideal for salad mixes. The frilled margins and thick leaves allow for high yields and ensures long shelf life. TWISTY is an ideal variety to complement Hunter and Red Russian in an all kale mix.

MUSTARD
Mustard RED MUSTARD
Mustard
CHOPSTICK Similar in appearance to tatsoi, CHOPSTICK is a more vigorous variety suitable for year round production but is particularly suited to cold season production. CHOPSTICK is extremely reliable and the thick leaves provide an excellent addition to salad mixes giving extended shelf life. CHOPSTICK produces very uniform leaves with glossy, dark colour. High yielding, CHOPSTICK has good regrowth after cutting and shows good tolerance to downy mildew.
Mustard
DEEP PURPLE An outstanding innovation for babyleaf production, DEEP PURPLE is a red tatsoi which produces attractive purple/magenta leaves. Fast to mature with a growth habit similar to the standard green tatsoi, DEEP PURPLE has bright, glossy coloured leaves and a succulent, mustard flavour. The semi-erect habit means that a high plant population is required to assist leaves to stand up for machine harvesting.
Mustard
INCA INCA is red elk type for babyleaf salad production. INCA differs from Red Antler in that it is coloured on both sides of the leaf and has a thicker leaf due to slightly slower growth making it an ideal warm season variety. Although particularly suited to warm season, INCA can be grown year round and provides better shelf life than many standard mustard products. INCA provides colour and texture to salad mixes and the leaf shape gives good bulk to pillow packs. INCA has a mild brassica flavour and is not over powering.
Mustard
MIBUNA A standard inclusion for babyleaf salad mixes, MIBUNA is an oriental mustard. Producing numerous leaves, MIBUNA consistently yields extremely well providing bulk for salad mixes and has excellent regrowth after cutting. Very fast growing, MIBUNA will produce highly uniform leaves of excellent colour all year round, however the leaves will rapidly become large under hot conditions. The attractive leaves have a pungent mustard flavour.
Mustard
MIZUNA A standard inclusion for babyleaf salad mixes, MIZUNA is an oriental mustard. Producing numerous leaves, MIZUNA consistently yields extremely well providing bulk for salad mixes and has excellent regrowth after cutting. Very fast growing, MIZUNA has limited field hold as the leaves will rapidly become large, but tend not to yellow and have good shelf life. The attractive leaves have a pungent mustard flavour and MIZUNA can be grown year round successfully.
Mustard
RED ANTLER To add colour and a different leaf shape and texture to your babyleaf salad mix, RED ANTLER is an attractive addition and will process well with good shelf life. A red elk type, RED ANTLER has deeply divided leaves and a strong purple/red colour that will deepen with increasing cold temperatures during its growth. With a mild flavour, RED ANTLER is able to be grown year round.
Mustard
RED MUSTARD A standard selection, RED MUSTARD is a very fast growing oriental mustard which produces variegated leaves of red and green colour making it an attractive addition to babyleaf salad mixes. The red colour will dominate under cooler conditions and the green colour becomes more dominant under heat. Due to the fast maturity, RED MUSTARD has limited field hold and a mildly pungent flavour.
Mustard
RED RUPIAH An improved red mustard type, RED RUPIAH has a deeper purple/red colour than standard red mustard selections and the colour is uniformly distributed across the leaf with less green on the leaves. A more robust and slightly thicker leaf, RED RUPIAH will hold well in the field and the shelf life postharvest may surpass that of your current red mustard selection. The colour, leaf shape and pungent flavour will add a contrast to green dominated mixes.
Mustard
TATSOI A standard inclusion for babyleaf salad mixes, TATSOI is an oriental mustard. Able to be grown all year round, TATSOI performs best under warmer conditions when growth rates are more acceptable for crop scheduling. High yielding, TATSOI has good regrowth after cutting and produces attractive glossy leaves with a slight savoy texture that will add volume to salad mixes.
Babyleaf
PAK CHOI
Pak choi MINTO
Pak Choi
MINTO MINTO is a green-stemmed pak choi variety which produces leaves of very uniform size and shape which are ideal as a cut leaf product for inclusion in babyleaf salad mixes. MINTO has good shelf life due to the thick, crisp leaves and has an erect plant habit when grown at high densities. MINTO can be grown year round and bolting is not an issue when leaves are harvested at the babyleaf stage.
Babyleaf
ROCKET
Rocket GEMINI
Rocket
BULWINKLE BULWINKLE is a fast growing, serrated rocket (Eruca) with excellent presentation and long shelf life. An ideal substitute for wild rocket when growth is slow, BULWINKLE has a thick leaf and maintains its colour in the warm when many speedy types struggle. BULWINKLE has an upright habit and grows in very uniform stands making for easy harvest. Although fast to mature, the leaves of BULWINKLE will remain within spec.
Rocket
GEMINI GEMINI is a wild rocket that provides an alternative alongside Rocky for growers wanting a fast growing variety. A Diplotaxis type (true wild rocket), GEMINI is extremly vigorous and is fast to establish, making it ideally suited to cooler situations. It is dark green in colour and develops a very thick leaf ensuring an extended shelf life. GEMINI has a deeply serrated leaf, more so than even Rocky, and has a sharp, peppery, wild rocket taste.
Rocket
MISSILE A salad rocket type, MISSILE provides growers with the possibility of year round production. MISSILE produces very thick leaves through Winter whilst still able to meet specifications for leaf size during the warmer months. With excellent leaf colour, MISSILE develops into a darker green during periods of cold. MISSILE has an excellent shelf life and a mild peppery flavour ideally suited to salad mixes.
Rocket
ROCKET MAN A fast growing rocket selection, ROCKET MAN will achieve high yields of cut leaf. With good vigour for Winter production, ROCKET MAN has exceptional colour under cool growing conditions and shows some tolerance to purpling. Producing attractively lobed leaves similar to wild rocket with a strong rocket flavour, ROCKET MAN is a popular choice for babyleaf rocket production.
Rocket
ROCKY A wild rocket type, the key features of ROCKY are the excellent flavour and pungency of the leaves and improved shelf life over the fast growing selections. Producing attractive leaves that are finely serrated with excellent colour, ROCKY will grow equally well in indoor or outdoor growing environments. Slow growing and producing thick leaves, ROCKY has excellent shelf life and the leaves will handle processing much better without damage. When mature ROCKY will yield well.
