uring my global travels and times as a therapist, I observed certain qualities that set true Goddesses apart from ordinary women. These women are dynamic and have an air about them - a kind of soiré de vive (lust for life) energy, which oozes out of their every pore. And it’s this enigmatic lust for life that enriches everyone who meets them. People are naturally drawn to them, like magnets they attract others who happily hang out in their energy, for the sheer delight and magical feeling that their presence offers. Encounters with them can often be healing and hypnotically transforming - leaving you feeling happy, uplifted, motivated and deeply inspired. They are positive and elevating, emanating an easygoing naturalness that on closer inspection possesses an undeniable confidence and inner emotional power.

The True Goddess In Everyday Life Thinking about your own source of strength is the first step to finding your true Goddess. Is it masculine or feminine? Does feeling powerful seem testing and awkward - or profound and effortless? Does being feminine feel uncomfortable and foreign to you? Who did you see as holding the power in your home as a child? Understanding the basic Goddess archetype energies and attributes helps us to align with those qualities as we observe their traits within our own character. We can then learn how best to relate these wise qualities by applying them in everyday life situations.

The energy of our planet ebbs and flows and with it this year brings mixed emotions as the wisdom of the water snake slides amongst us all. Where ever you are in this wonderful world the great 2013 year of the serpent will work its magick on you. With a reminder to transform, just as the beautiful reptile sheds her skin so too will we. After the intensity of the dragons fierce focus pushed us forth cementing in our minds that we could achieve anything last year with bountiful energy excitement and enthusiasm, at times not giving us a moment to think before we speak or act, the year of the snake now brings a reminder for us all to ground, to lay low watch, wait absorb think realise imagine feel investigate and by all means move forward only when we absolutely should and with limited announcement yet gentle and constant consistency. PREPARING YOUR ALTAR In a private space in your office, place of employment or sacred space at home which can remain untouched for 8 days, set up your altar cloth laying it out neatly in a square, place your candle holders on either edge of the cloth opposite each other. Place your candles in the holders and set your matches next to the candle on the right yet not on the cloth. Have your $100 note and your $2 coin nearby but don’t place it on the cloth. Every time that you cast this spell you need to add another symbol, only add 1 symbol at a time. I have listed for example 5 symbols in the ‘You will need list’ I encourage you to choose your own but feel free to start with the 5 that I’ve listed if you so wish. So now bring your chosen symbol and place it near the edge yet not on the cloth. Your beautiful altar is prepared so now turn your phones, TVs and radios off. If you have others present please ask that they leave you alone and remain quiet and in another area of the home or office for a good 20 minutes. Close the door if possible, take your shoes off and now comfortably sit in front of your altar. CASTING YOUR SPELL Sitting in front of your altar relax breathe deeply and slowly, taking a moment to clear your mind and to just think on your career or desired career. If you don’t wish to think on a particular career think on simply bringing abundance into your life. This spell is specific for representing energy by way of our world currency be it Dollars Coins Gold or Silver, so it’s best to keep that in mind. There is nothing negative about casting a spell for money and prosperity it’s why you are casting and what you intend to use the money for that’s important. This is an employment spell again focusing on career so this spell does have an element of physical and practical work involved in its earthly and spiritual exchange. This is not a “sit back and wait for a tatts lotto win” spell just so that you are aware. So you are ready and rested, you have closed your eyes cleared your mind taken deep breaths and concentrated on what you are asking for. Now light the candle on the right this represents your physical world, followed by the candle on the left and speak the Enchantment slowly and clearly thrice (3 times) each time that you read your enchantment become louder using more energy and
focus. Throw your coin and note into the centre of the altar cloth when you speak the words “As I cast this coin this note” Once the enchantment is complete, gift the altar a symbol, placing it on yet near to the outside edge of the altar cloth. As you add the symbol say aloud ‘Abrahadabra’ Each time that you cast this spell add another symbol. Continue this morning and night until you have carried out the spell 16 times; you should also then have 16 symbols on your altar along with the coin and the note. Leave this altar set up until the 16th casting and then upon the next morning place the money in your wallet or purse trying not to spend it until the next new moon or anytime after that new moon. Be positive embrace the change that has come into your life and be appreciative, do not break the spell until it’s completed, even if you receive fantastic financial news over the course of the 8 days. Blessed Be

s i m e t r A n e d i a M d l i W E nvironmentalist, creator, giver of life, wild maiden, feminist, protector of girls and pregnant women, independent and challenging of the status quo, Artemis is one of the most ancient of Goddesses and there are many stories of Her and hundreds of names to describe her characteristics. In Her earliest and most original form, Artemis was depicted as the multi-breasted Goddess in Her temple at Ephesus, one of the most ancient shrines of any goddess or god. In this manifestation She was closely associated with Cybele the Mother Goddess, giver of all life. Two beautiful statues of Artemis are now in the museum in Selchuk, Turkey; along with the top of many breasts, the skirts of both statues are lined with animals, both wild and domesticated, as well as bees. Her worship was established at

Ephesus (now Turkey), by the Amazons and the symbol of Her worship was the bee, which links Her to the ancient Mother Goddess of Crete. The Amazons were matri-focal (mother focused) and matrilineal (following the mother line) and were considered by the early Greeks as valiant and worthy foes. From the giver of life and protector of all nature, the Artemis of the Amazons became one of many Greek Goddesses and lost much of Her power (around 1200 BCE) when patriarchy became firmly entrenched in that part of the world. Even when She was adopted by the Greeks, it was as the archetypal wild woman: Her ‘wildness’ was in Her refusal to conform to the conventional role allocated to women in patriarchal Greece. She was Goddess of the hunt, the moon, fertility, childbirth, young women,
pregnant women, wild animals, the bear, wolves, dogs, deer, and the forests. She has been called Diana, Selene, Mother of Creatures, Cynthia, and Amarynthia. Of all the Greek goddesses, she was the most self-sufficient, living life on her own terms, comfortable both in solitude and in holding the reins of leadership. It is often said that Artemis valued chastity, however what She really valued was independence. In those days women who didn’t marry were called ‘virgins’, not in the way we use the term today, but meaning that they were not dependent on a man; they were their own person. One story is that at the age of three, Artemis asked Her father Zeus for six birthday presents: • to be allowed to live without having to be distracted by marriage,
• a bow and arrow like Appollo Her twin brother, • a hunting costume of short skirt or ‘chiton’ which freed her from having to dress like a ‘lady’, • the job of bringing light into the world in Her moon aspect, • sixty young nymphs to be her companions and to help care for her hunting dogs, and • all the mountains on earth to live on. From Her earliest days in the Greek pantheon, it was clear that Artemis was going to be the most independent of the Greek Goddesses, one who thrived on challenges and challenged the status quo. Most comfortable in the company of women She is often depicted by artists hunting or bathing with Her band of nymphs; Artemis valued her freedom and personal space and protected them ferociously. While out hunting one day Actaeon accidentally came upon Artemis and her nymphs, who were bathing naked in a secluded pool. Seeing them independent and free, Actaeon stopped and stared, intruding on their privacy. When Artemis saw him, She transformed him into a stag. Another story of Her fierce relationships and protectiveness of Her woman friends involves Orion who attempted to seduce, or rape, one of Her companions. She sent a scorpion to sting his heel and kill him. When he was later changed into a constellation She made sure the scorpion was treated in the same way. Thus the constellation Orion and the Scorpion are reminders of what Artemis does to men who rape and abuse women.
In Greek mythology, Artemis is sometimes described as daughter of Zeus and the twin sister of Apollo; however it is also said that She was born sometime before he was in order to help Her mother Leto with his birth. Although twins, they did not spend much time together and they seem to represent the feminine and masculine sides of the same coin. A fitting Goddess for the modern-day feminist, Artemis is both supportive and protective of women. She demonstrates that it is possible for a woman to live an independent and deeply fulfilling life as She challenged the patriarchal notions of what women should be like in Her own time. Artemis is represented in every woman who knows her own power, not being power hungry and wanting power over others but holding power with a tenacious protectiveness, compassion and empathy for those who are vulnerable and need Her support.
good about herself. She inspires us to be independent and to trust our own instincts and intuition. Artemis did not have any man as the centre of Her life although She may have enjoyed male company it was more as a sister or intellectual equal. Artemis also inspires us to protect the rights of young women and girls and to ensure that they are not abused and exploited; She fiercely protected the safely of other women from male predators. She was the Goddess of girlhood, and many young women danced before her wearing yellow robes, in one of her most famous rituals. Her temples provided protection for girls moving from childhood to womanhood and they performed a ritual of ‘the little bears’ - one of Her sacred animals. As the Goddess of the Hunt, Artemis is clear about Her goals and persistently and steadfastly achieves Her targets. In the modern day, an Artemis inspired woman supports other women to achieve their career goals while she herself works in unconventional and non-traditional roles providing new options for women and girls.
Artemis also inspires us to care for the natural environment; the wildness of the earth and the wildness in ourselves. CROSS-QUARTER FESTIVALS – Beltaine & Samhain Jane Meredith

very year there are four cross-quarter Festivals, sandwiched between the Solstices and Equinoxes, which mark the earth’s most obvious relationship to the sun. Where these four quarter Festivals highlight exact moments in this relationship – the longest and shortest day, and the two days and nights of exactly equal length– the cross-quarter Festivals are the in-between realms. They are celebrated half way between the quarter Festivals, so that Beltaine (pronounced Bell-tain) lies half way between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice, and Samhain (pronounced S-ow-wain or S-owwen), half way between the Autumn Equinox and the Winter Solstice. 14
GoddessGuru

They are in-between Festivals in more ways than one. Energetically they are like tidal flats, sometimes in the sea and sometimes on the land. They mix the nuances of the Festivals on either side of them and come up with a potent combination, a magical swirl of alchemical richness. Of all the eight festivals of the Wheel of the Year, Beltaine and Samhain are the two that have transited most successfully and widely into the modern world. They are more commonly known as May Day and Halloween. Both are high energy Festivals, occurring as the year heads towards a solstice.
B
eltaine is celebrated on May 1st in the Northern hemisphere, hence its name of May Day. In the Southern hemisphere it falls on November 1st, but loses none of its allure regarding the blossoming fecundity of the season, that early summer warmth beckoning us out into the fields, beaches and parks for celebration. Samhain is honoured on October 31st in the Northern hemisphere, with pumpkin xxx lit with candles, trick-or-treat and black cardboard bats hanging in the supermarkets. Here it overlaps with the Day of the Dead, All Saints Day and the tree day Mexican Festival of the Dead. In the Southern hemisphere we celebrate it on April 30th, just as autumn is closing its teeth on us. Beltaine and Samhain are opposite each other on the Wheel, and between them hold the powerful themes of sex and death. Perhaps it’s no wonder that these are the two pagan Festivals to survive so robustly, everyone’s drawn to them; children by the dancing and costumes and adults by the broad hint that the usual social boundaries and limitations are relaxed. We tend to think of those themes – sex and death – as opposites, and of course they are celebrated six months apart, at opposite times of year. They are opposite in hemisphere, as well; while the Northern hemisphere is celebrating Beltaine, the Southern hemisphere has Samhain, and vice versa. The mystery of these Festivals lies in their close ties to each other. If we think about those themes for just a moment we realise that sex leads to babies, at least in the biological, evolutionary sense; and each thing that is born on the earth must die. Death, in its turn, is nature’s cleansing of the old, worn-out and dysfunctional to allow room for the new. These two processes; sex, leading to birth, , and death, are the cornerstones of our human lives. None of us escapes them. We could dedicate ourselves to a celibate life, refusing all sex and sexuality, but we have been created by it, it’s how we came into existence. Perhaps this is what the Church means by original sin. We are already creatures of sexuality before we even begin breathing on our own. Sex leads to death, and it is well understood that the threat of death can prompt sexual expression and bonding. Traditions associated with both Beltaine and Samhain can still be seen. Beltaine rituals include dancing around a maypole, choosing a May Queen (perhaps not unlike our
contested beauty pageants), Morris dancing – still alive in England – and spells and tokens of love. Check out books on spells – half of them focus on love spells, something that obviously hasn’t died away completely in our modern world. Samhain is associated with masks and cloaks, disguising oneself to cross the barriers of this world into the night of spirits, as well as honouring ancestors and foretelling the future. The popularity of psychics survives in this sceptical age, as people still strive to discover good fortune, connect with loved ones who’ve died and see a little further into the mysteries than ordinary sight allows. How can we bring these Festivals into our own lives, and acknowledge their power and sacredness? Both of these Festivals are great for gatherings; whether it be family gatherings, a group of friends getting together or a party, ritual or other celebration. At a Beltaine gathering you could dance, feast and celebrate life. It’s a great time of year to do ritual work; focusing on what you love, as well as love that you want to bring into your life. You may be searching for a partner, longing for a child, needing a circle of friends – or happy with what you have and wanting to honour all the love in your life. Either way you can build an altar to love; you can reach out to others, remembering that it’s when we’re offering love, rather than receiving it, that we experience it most powerfully. You can make an effort to spend much more time doing things you love, whether that be gardening, writing poetry, going to live music or making magic. At Samhain you could have a quieter gathering, sharing the food and stories of your ancestors and cultural heritage. You may wish to include an honouring of those who have died, or create an altar for them with photos, mementoes and offerings. You can also practice your fortune telling skills, bring a deck of Tarot Cards, some runes or a crystal ball and do some readings together, with everyone reading for themselves and sharing what they discover. ithin modern Paganism and Goddess-centric spiritual traditions, the Triple Goddess is perceived as being both sexual in nature and a mother. These two aspects have been divorced from each other in the nearest Western equivalent to the Goddess, that of the Virgin Mary of the Catholic Church. The original meaning of virgin may not necessarily refer to a “chaste woman noted for religious piety and having a position of reverence in the Church”, but to a woman who is simply “not married” without any emphasis being placed upon her sexual behaviour (or lack thereof). It is this original meaning that is meant when referring to the Virgin (or Maiden) Goddess into which category Artemis, Hestia and Athena. The Mother aspect of the Triple Goddess is represented by the full moon, or the earth. Often this aspect of the Goddess is seen as Prithvi Mata (Sanskrit for “Mother 16

Earth”) or Gaia, the earth itself, and is thought of as the Great Mother - the divine feminine which gives birth to us, nourishes and sustains us and in which we finally find our rest and rebirth. This aspect of the Goddess, although suppressed by the Christian Church, persisted throughout the medieval period amongst scholars and others who were still orientated to the ways of ancient Paganism. In a 12th century English Herbal, for example, the Goddess is referred to as “Mother Nature, who dost generate all things and bringest forth ever anew the Sun.” It is She who “nurturest life” and “when the spirit of humankind passes, to Thee it returns”. The last aspect of the Triple Goddess is the Wise Woman, the Crone or Hag, who is the keeper of the mysteries, and is often associated with either the waning or the dark phase of the moon. The Crone Goddess symbolises our own inner wisdom, but also the elders who, in a tribal

society, were the living repositories of the history and lore of that tribe. Their role was essential to the successful functioning of society and age had an honoured place. One common error that people often tend to make when first coming across the Triple Goddess is relating human years to the various aspects. While the Maiden aspect of the Goddess is more often than not depicted as a youthful young woman, it does not mean that someone of a more mature age cannot associate with this youthfulness. It is increasingly common today to see people over 50 years of age enjoying freedom and life in a way they have never experienced before. Likewise, with the pressures of modern living and the breakdown of what is deemed the “traditional” family unit, it is not unusual for children or even teens to step into the role of the Mother by caring for and nurturing younger siblings. Being able to identify with the Mother Goddess is also not solely reserved for those women who have physically had children, or even those who care for children. There are numerous ways of “mothering” as well as numerous “things” (animal or other) that can be mothered. The different aspects of the Triple Goddess can therefore be experienced at whatever age we find ourselves at. One obvious misconception about aligning the Triple Goddess with the moon phases is that the moon actually goes through four distinct phases during its cycle. This therefore raises the query as to whether, within modern Paganism and Goddess-centric spiritual traditions; there is actually a fourth aspect of the Goddess that Graves overlooked. The late Shekhinah Mountainwater wrote about the concept of the “Dark Maiden” who she identified as the Sorceress, who is associated with the waning moon, and who was the opposite to the “Light Maiden” of the waxing moon. Goddesses that fall under the category of the “Dark Maiden” include Morgan le Fay and Persephone, as well as those who were associated with magic, shapeshifting and transformation. Franklin also saw the Goddess as four-fold; however, within her tradition these phases are not solely connected with the moon. The four-fold Goddess is also associated with the four seasons. Franklin further points out that within modern Strega (Italian witchcraft) the four phases of the moon are acknowledged, each with an associated aspect of the Goddess. Diana is the Maiden of the waxing moon, Losna is the “Light Mother” of the full moon, Manea is the “Dark Mother” of the waning moon; and Umbrea is the Crone
connected with the dark moon. Within my own work, the Dark Goddess tends to incorporate both Mountainwater’s “Dark Maiden”, modern Strega’s concept of the “Dark Mother” as well as other aspects that tend not to be easily pigeonholed into the triplicity of “Maiden”, “Mother” and “Crone”. These Goddesses include the ancient creatrix of the heavens and earth (Tiamat in Babylonia myth), the rulers of time (the Hindu Goddess Kali), and the initiators and keepers of the hidden knowledge (Welsh Arianrhod and Cerridwen). Goddesses who rule the various Underworlds, such as the Sumerian Erieshkigal, also fall into the category of being a “Dark Goddess”. Despite the connection of the Triple Goddess with the moon being a relatively recent idea, to the followers of modern Pagan and Goddess-centric spirituality, it appears to already be anchored deep within our psyche. A reason for this could be that through understanding the triplicity of the Goddess in this way, we are able to access and gain a deeper insight into the divine feminine as a whole. When we look upon Her many faces and feel Her changing rhythms, we are also able to go within ourselves and gain deeper knowledge about our own changes, from moon phase to moon phase, and throughout the course of the years. If we associate the Goddess with the moon, then I believe that the hidden fourth aspect, that of the “Dark Goddess”, should also be acknowledged. This is because each aspect of the Goddess lives within us, the seen as well as the unseen. Frances is an initiatedWytch and High Priestess of an active coven based in Adelaide, South Australia. “In nature nothing exists alone.” ~Rachel Carson, Silent Spring
Like the great warrior Goddess’ who served the wild, women have always been at the forefront of the environmental movement. The voices of women, either alone or with the strength of community, have been a cornerstone of strength and courage. By reflecting on the inspiration we can find in these women we too can become leaders, change makers and shining lights for others to look to. For me the work of one woman, her intellect and her love of nature, has been truly moving. That woman was Rachel Louise Carson, an American Marine Biologist whose books including Silent Spring (1962) were pivotal in the growth of the global environment movement from the late 1950s.

Carson was an exceptional writer with such a passion for the wonder and beauty of the natural world that motivated her to share this with others. Carson's early writing was focussed on the sea, and she aimed to foster an equal passion for nature in others. All her work was centred on the view that human beings were but one part of nature differentiated chiefly by their power to change it. And with that power, she argued, came great responsibility, not to control nature but to control ourselves:
of us that clear-eyed vision, that true instinct for what is beautiful and awe-inspiring, is dimmed and even lost before we reach adulthood. If I had influence with the good fairy who is supposed to preside over the christening of all children, I should ask that her gift to each child in the world be a sense of wonder so indestructible that it would last throughout life, as an unfailing antidote against the boredom and disenchantment of later year…the alienation from the sources of our strength.” ~Rachel Carson, A Sense of Wonder
“The human race is challenged more than Ways to find and live your inspiration: . Think about what is really important to you. Is it the ever before to demonstrate our mastery, not forests? The sea? Animals? Climate Change? Perhaps over nature but of ourselves.” ~Rachel Carson
Concerned by the indiscriminate use of synthetic chemical pesticides after World War II, Carson turned her focus to conservation, particularly to warn the public about the long term effects of pesticide use. In Silent Spring (1962) she challenged the practices of scientists and the United States government, calling for a change in the way humans viewed the natural world. This resulted in attacks by the chemical industry and some parts of the U.S. government, but her courage and careful research paid off. Amongst many things, her work led to a nationwide ban on some pesticides (including DDT), and it inspired a grassroots environmental movement that led to the creation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Rachel Carson did not live an easy life, but she led an engaged and devoted one. Despite being the sole breadwinner in her family after the death of her Father in 1935, and experiencing the full spectrum of loss and responsibility, Carson remained committed to her work and her writing. In 1964 she died after a long battle with breast cancer. It was her unapologetic witness for the beauty of life and the way she saw nature and humanity as so intimately connected that first inspired me, and I hope it can do the same for you too. Women like Rachel Carson’s give us hope in our own lives and our own activism. Now is the time to live your inspiration, and to be part of the creation of a world that is more connected and compassionate. “A child’s world is fresh and new and beautiful, full or wonder and excitement. his past year has been one of incredible change for me, I know you have felt it too, it’s unavoidable to experience the natural shift in consciousness – unless you are of course, living unconsciously. The winds of change are upon us with the dawn of a new era, a transformation many a conscious person feels and is still feeling as Aquarius engulfs us with her wisdom. I am so happy to say good bye to the last decade, one of the hardest I’ve experience but one I am most grateful for. I don’t know if wisdom comes with age or if it’s the age of wisdom that is what is being experienced but I know this, I am glad to be a part of a changing time that is so profoundly felt by so many and as I sat on a rock at Airlie Beach watching the wind blow the old me away over Christmas.

I now find myself contemplating what on earth happened to make me feel so different now. I feel like I am in a new atmosphere, everything in my life feels different to me – my heart space, my emotions, my attitude and clarity is clean and most of all my divine feminine is awakened with profound inner peace, I have finally arrived home. So why did I feel so lost in this space of contentment? The end of last year marked the end of a struggling and chaotic era for me in so many ways. It’s been an uphill battle juggling and balancing the raising of my children, work, business and lets not even mention my personal relationships being unsettled (to say the least on this subject). How crazy is it to think everything in life was finally so perfect yet this nagging feeling ‘leaking’ was overwhelming me to bits. I just didn’t understand what was happening. kept running away every time I sensed you were near. I avoided any situation where you might show up. I often hid so you would not find me. You always did anyway, no matter what. I tried to numb myself out, with food, or sex, or artmaking, or writing. Anything that would turn my attention to a perfect, lovely or at least temporarily gratifying experience. You always showed up , no matter what. I ignored you, rejected you, cowered, or simply became undone. I blamed you for my issues, for my messed up life. Then, one day, I decided, to call upon you with respect. To see you face to face. I reached the point where I no longer wanted my rejection of you, to ruin the opportunities that I had for love and success. There you were, answering the call immediately, with power that almost knocked me over. With your piercing eyes, I felt seen to the core, and perhaps that was what had been most threatening to me all along, I knew that you could see all of me and I did not think I could face that, as if some evil twin lurked within. You did something I would never have expected. You smiled at me.Your smile was loving, compassionate and radiant. You invited me to come in, and sit with you, and finally, to become allies. “I welcome you with great joy, respect and curiosity”,you said with a sparkle in your eyes. You were intense. You were sexual, you were sensual, and you were a little dark in your presentation, a combination of an Angel and a dangerous woman/Goddess. “It is time. I would say we are overdue, but each comes when they are ready, so it is perfect timing”. Now, lets chat, would you like a little of my magical brew? The brew was purple, and in crystal goblets. I sensed they held mind and heart altering substances, which I usually avoided. “Yes, I will have some, please give me the amount that you feel would best serve this conversation”, I heard myself answer. She poured a full glass, and I could feel butterflies in my stomach, it was too much, I would lose control, I would be paranoid, I would be, well, I did not know for certain, but I would be, different. She looked me right in the eye as she handed me the Goblet, “This is the perfect amount for this talk.” I felt a cold sweat all over my body. “Cheers” she said, and we drank, both with the same amount, down to the last drop. 22

She did something I did not expect. She laughed. Her laughter sounded beautiful, like music. I began to laugh too, and my heart opened wider than it ever had before. I could feel just how contracted I had been for such a long time. How protective, how shut down. We laughed and laughed, until I cried. Then she cried as well..and we howled, in pain and she took my hands into hers. They were warm. Together we saw my life, and all the times, I turned away, all the times, I felt lost. Then, before I could stop her, she took out her dagger and stabbed me in the heart. I was bleeding.
I WAS AFRAID! That feeling of fear poured out of me, like a dam had broken, and a stagnant pool of blood that had been held back for ages, released in a flood. It was foul. It was polluted, it was, toxic. Then, it was gone. It simply was, gone. It felt like a big empty space opened up. I felt enlightened, I felt peace, I felt free. Her dagger had opened me up. I did not die, I had been dead.

I was a woman born at the dark of the moon. I did have dark powers, I was introspective, and Scorpio ruled my moon sign.Yet, this aspect of myself, always seemed more like an enemy than a friend. I wanted to be light and bright. I looked at my Dark Goddess self, and I loved her. I adored her. I valued her now, in a way I had never even considered. She was the very depths of the earth life. She was the destroyer, but she also was the Creatress. I could never truly be fully alive without both of these aspects being expressed and enjoyed and understood, accepted. I knew this was the beginning of a new journey for me. Together we sang a song that came directly from the Goddess.
That which you have run from That which made you hide. Is the very thing that sets you free That lights the soul inside. The very thing that made you cringe, When ‘ere it came too near. Was a welcome call for your inner growth, You came to call her FE AR. Now I was coming to life. My fear had not been of dying, but of living. I felt clear, alert and present. I looked at her, and she was radiant beyond measure. I felt the same way, and knew that I too, was glowing. “I am not here to hurt you, judge you or frighten you. I am here to inspire ,guide and empower you. I am here to protect you, increase your awareness, deepen your sense of honesty and wisdom. I am here to transform , recycle and re-purpose you, over and over again .” she said. I took many deep breathes, and the truth of her words penetrated me, and the tension of always being on guard for her energy, began to soften and relax. I had done so many things to increase my well being, better food, better environment, better friends. I had worked, and read and practiced my meditations. So many things, and yet, I had avoided “her”. I had never thought of her as a key to my well being. Now I could see and feel this truth to the very depths of my soul.
Now the two can dance together, The darkness and the light. In harmony, in syncopation You are ready for great Transformation. This is a magical, invaluable key, To the very truth, that sets you free. Blessed be dearest sisters and brothers, may you dance with what you have thought to be your fears. May you laugh and cry, cleansing tears. As we enter these days, of regeneration, our opened hearts, manifest a new creation. The Power of The Thyroid Christine McDonnell
T
he thyroid gland sits at our 5th chakra or energy centre. This is the centre of expression, speech, and creativity. If you feel suppressed with your creativity, or unable to express yourself when you need to, spiritually it can affect this centre. Honouring your passion and desires, and speaking up for yourself are important to the health of your thyroid. Thyroid issues are more common in women than in men especially if you are over 40 y.o. and your metabolism is slowing down and you are perimenopausal or menopausal. There are many reasons for this and most of the causes you can do something about. So lets look at what can contribute to thyroid health issues. Stress – this is a big one! What woman these days is not stressed?
24
GoddessGuru
www.goddessguruezine.com
Stress can be physical, mental, emotional or financial. Deficiency Of Nutrients – these include low levels of bioavailable magnesium, manganese, zinc, selenium, iodine, tyrosine and B vitamins especially B5 & B6 and vitamin C and D. Iodine Antagonists In The Environment – our food and water supply is loaded with halogens which are elements that can replace iodine in our thyroid gland. They include, fluorides, bromides, and chlorides. They are harmful to our thyroid gland. They compete with our iodine and eventually replace it and when they do our thyroid stops working properly. Copper And Mercury Toxicity – unfortunately mercury toxicity is everywhere today, its in our fish and
Infections, Viruses, Cancers, Cysts – Hashimotos disease which is an auto immune disease where the cells attack the thyroid is also becoming more common. Viruses can also be one of the causes for conditions like nodules on the thyroid gland, and cancer of the thyroid.
Thyroid Physiology The pituiatry gland secretes the thyroid stimulating hormone or TSH which causes the thyroid to secrete thyroxine. Tetra-iodothyronine also called thyroxine or T4 requires manganese, iodine, selenium, tyrosine, Vitamins C and B complex and a good diet full of nutrients in order to make healthy T4 to supply the thyroid. Hormone release and secretion of thyroid hormones requires sympathetic nervous stimulation. Many people (especially women) have exhausted adrenals which makes this difficult and contributes to deficiency. T4 once released into the blood must be absorbed into the cells. For this to occur there needs to be sufficient magnesium and calcium. Once inside the cells thyroxine must be converted to T3 or triiodothyronine a more active form of the hormone. This conversion requires selenium, tyrosine, zinc and magnesium.
Some people do not convert T4 to T3 adequately, instead they produce Reverse T3 this is called Wilson’s syndrome.
blockers. Naturally the herb lycopus (common name bugleweed) can be very beneficial in the early stages of this disease.
Thyroid Receptor Antibodies, Urine Iodine, Ionised Calcium, Parathyroid, Cholesterol, FBC, LFT, Vitamin D, Zinc and magnesium.
Hypothyroidism This is an extremely common problem and in my practice over the last 10 years it seems like nearly every woman who comes in and is perimenopausal or menopausal has a thyroid issue as well.
Nutritional Balancing For The Thyroid – Kelp is a great source of iodine and trace minerals it has a high alginate that binds and removes toxic material. Sardines are high in iodine and usually don’t have mercury toxicity like larger fish so if you like them eat them 3 or 4 times a week.
The range for TSH with most laboratories is between (0.4-4), however anything >2 and you start to be suspicious that the thyroid is slowing down especially in the >40 year olds. Ideally the TSH should sit between 1 – 1.8 for a healthy metabolism
Symptoms Of Hypothyroidism – Fatigue, dry skin and dry brittle hair, sleep more than usual, weak muscles, frequent muscles cramps, slow thinking, depressed, poor memory, puffy eyes, constipated, unsteady gait, weight gain easily and outer third of eyebrows thinning. If you are still menstruating you could have irregular menses and heavy bleeding. TSH is usually high in this condition and T3 is often low.
Foods To Avoid – sugar, most soy products they inhibit the thyroid, tofu and tempeh are not as bad but only have in small amounts, tap water full of fluorides, and chlorides and will inhibit the thyroid and have been known to contribute to thyroid cancer. Reverse osmosis although it takes out these toxic substances does not hydrate the body well and is deficient in trace minerals. Alkaline water with minerals is best.
If your GP won’t do all this testing you can go to your Holistic Practitioner who should be able to organise this for you for a cost.
Hyperthyroidism Or Grave’s Disease
Commercial breads are quite toxic to your thyroid they contain bromides in the flours and chlorides in the bleaching of the flour then if they use tap water it contains fluoride and chloride. Eat an organic bread made with filtered water and unbleached organic flours. Better still make your own. Best to eat gluten free grains.
This is also becoming more common especially in younger women. Raised T3 and T4 levels and often low TSH can indicate this condition. Symptoms Of Hyperthyroidism – tachycardia or fast pulse, heart racing, palpitations (skipping of pulse of heart), Insomnia (can’t sleep) a feeling of shakiness or tremors, loss of appetite, increased sweating, anxiety or irritability, extreme nervousness. In some cases where this condition is unchecked the eyes bulge out, a condition called exothalmus. Treatment for Hyperthyroidism from a medical perspective are usually beta
Thyroid Testing – It is important to get your thyroid tested regularly preferably every 12 months ensuring it’s healthy. If you have a thyroid problem it should be regularly monitored by your healthcare professional. The tests I would recommend initially to be thorough are TSH T3 T4 Reverse T3 Thyroid Tissue Antibodies,
Treatment For Thyroid Supplements I would recommend if there are indications you have thyroid problems. Tyrosine Powder, B5 & B6 with an additional B complex, Magnesium, manganese, zinc, selenium, Vitamin D, and vitamin C. Please consult your health practitioner. If you need more help you can try bio identical hormone replacement. There is a variety of different bio identical products, Armour Thyroid, Naturethroid talk to your compound pharmacist who can make this up for you but you will need a script from your GP. Probiotics are all the rage at the moment. We’re constantly being bombarded with how important probiotics are for health and wellbeing. It is well known that probiotics are useful for gut health and function, but not so well known that they can also be used for many other functions such as vaginal, skin and liver health, immunity and much more! The term “probiotic” is a very broad term, not all probiotics are the same and perform the same function. There are many different species and strains which make them so different from each other. To go through each and every species and strain would take an entire book, but let’s go through a few of my favourite species!
T
Lactobacillus gasseri
his species is a very newly discovered species compared to the others you hear a lot about but the research surrounding it is extremely exciting and promising! This particular species is fantastic for the liver and gut health, it takes a lot of the load off the liver which allows it to do its job more thoroughly. It binds to ‘bad’ cholesterol and helps to flush it out of the body and research has also indicated its effectiveness in helping patients who suffer from non alcoholic fatty liver. Lactobacillus gasseri is not only found naturally in the gastrointestinal tract, it is also found naturally in the female body within the vaginal tract where it creates hydrogen peroxide to protect the vagina from infections. As a probiotic, it is particularly useful in aiding the fermentation of meat within the digestive tract. So, if eating meat gives you a sore tummy and bad reactions, try some Lactobacillus gasseri! There have even been studies performed on this species in cows concluding that it could in theory be used safely in cattle as a probiotic as an alternative to antibiotics!

There is only one brand that I know of which contains this species in their probiotic. This product is probiotica P3 by a company called Wagner which can be found in most good health food stores or in naturopath’s dispensaries. The best part is that it is a heat stable product, meaning you don’t need to keep it in the fridge! Another great thing about this product is that it is taken from human sources as opposed to animal so the human body recognises it and utilises it better allowing the species to colonise rather than stay for a day or two and then leave. And you know the best part about this species? It makes it’s own prebiotics!!
Saccharomyces boulardii
This is actually a tropical yeast and is extremely useful in reducing all types of diarrhoea such as antibiotic induced diarrhoea, diarrhoea in both children and adults and diarrhoea associated with viral infection, as well as both acute and chronic diarrhoea. It also has shown in studies to release proteases which are a type of digestive enzyme
which can be useful in the treatment of inflammation, especially inflammation of the digestive tract. It’s even shown to be helpful against the effects of Cholera! This particular species is great for people who suffer from Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and can reduce all symptoms associated with the disease such as diarrhoea, constipation, dyspepsia, distention or constipation. It also can aid people with Crohn’s Disease by helping to prevent relapses and decrease the symptoms of Ulcerative Colitis. As well as these wonderful benefits to digestive issues, this particular species of yeast has been shown to help combat candida (thrush). It helps to prevent Candida from adhering to the cells and reduces the inflammation in response to the organism which causes thrush. This would make it an excellent preventative for people who are prone to the condition as well as a probiotic you can take to help reduce current symptoms! One brand that I know of which sells this probiotic is Herbs of Gold which can be found in most health food stores. They have a product called GastroGuard SB which contains this species which is also a heat stable product so it’s great to take along with you if you’re travelling or keep forgetting to take it because it’s hidden away in the fridge. Alternatively, most naturopaths stock practitioner only brand products containing this probiotic.
There are so many different probiotic species on the market, it can be overwhelming knowing which one to take. It’s always best to check with a qualified practitioner to check which species and product will be suit your needs. If in complete doubt, there are actually tests available which can tell you what species you are deficient in! Ask your naturopath or GP for more information on how to get one of these tests done! In health, Kellie Kellie is a fully qualified and accredited naturopath, herbalist, nutritionist, massage therapist and doula. Her passion lies within women’s health and fertility, detoxification and weight loss. Kellie runs her own natural health clinic in the Hunter Region of NSW and regularly holds presentations and workshops for natural health and wellbeing. Skype and telephone consultations will be available soon. Bifidobacterium bifidum
Oh how I love this species! B. bifidum occurs naturally in the human colon and helps to synthesize the B vitamins and Vitamin K which are crucial to health and helps you to avoid deficiencies of the vitamins. This species improves your immune system, your digestive function, promotes a balance of bacteria within your body and even helps your digestion! It has been shown to actually lower the production of histamine in the body which is the chemical responsible for allergic reactions. This means it may help to reduce allergic reactions to things such as pollen, animals and even mild food allergies may be alleviated with this probiotic. B. bifidum can help to restore the liver after too many years bingeing with your friends, it can help with diarrhoea associated with antibiotics (it’s even safe for children) and there is even evidence to suggest it can help to prevent cancer! This species is found in most good probiotics both over the counter as well as practitioner only brands so check out your local health food store or ask your naturopath! www.goddessguruezine.com

The snake speaks:
I
wait in silence, like a creature from a graveyard tale. Mysterious and silent, I watch you. Patiently, to use my animated strike to entrap you within my pernicious bite of awakening, lust, and pleasure. My venom, poisonous, numbing‌yet still felt through my cold blood, as I entwine my limbless, scaly, and reptilian body around you. As you wriggle within my grasp and try to escape, I tighten my grip. At first your fight is strong and arduous. Then you breathe shallowly, as your muscles stop constricting against my power, and I enter you, like a sword touches the lip of a goblet, a man moves into a woman sensually, or the rain kisses the earth's core as it falls deeply and passionately to nourish.

We are one, as an encapsulated pair writhing now together as I now take you on the journey forth to feel whole. Let go with me, as my form tantalizes your body to listen, to feel, to be touched. Allow me to travel within you, and to slither through your life force and energy centres, your chakras. Until it is time…time for me to leave once my journey has been done. For I am the goddess Shakti, rising desperately through you… my prey…as I long to be reunited with my Lord, Shiva. At the base of your spine, I am the coiled kundalini at the roots of your soul, which moves with motivation against your resilience. Please know, my dear lady, this is only the beginning as our two pulses race like one heart beating in unison. I remind you to let go as I feel your survival skills pushing and pouncing with gusto. Yet, I continue slowly, little by little, within a small period of space, time, and reality, as you allow me to feel the dance of your movement, your vibration, and the heat which you now release. An elixir to my senses, enticing me to climb further within…and I do. My slithering motions feed, and I feel you gasp and moan in ecstasy. Now at your sacral, your place of pleasure, passion, and the scent of your womanhood. I make musical love to you, as you give in, and hold me back in an equal and participating embrace. You awaken like an orgasmic cone of power, ready and wanting more. I have opened you as your emotions prepare to be scattered, to spill, to pour forth like the burning sensation and fire of my initial bite. I feel your inner being begin to peel, and allow me to take your life in death, to be reborn once more. Although I know that I am masked, tainted, and concealed within a skin. A skin that I need to let go of, but only if you too shall choose to travel further with me. You respond to my plead with a quiver from your solar plexus, as you now reflect upon past negative experiences, the forgiveness needed, and the emotions that you need to diffuse. You begin to shed, as I too start to cloud over as my skin loosens…finally. I now teach you the lessons of adjustment, through the symbolic action of my jaw unhinging, changing, and adapting, to eat and swallow you further. Your heart now pounds with pain, joy, and compassion and you feel alive as I creep higher and higher to your centre. My intuition
shows me the child you once were, the adolescent, and now as the adult. You have travelled through the actions of the triple goddess…as maiden, mother, and crone which I reflect on, tasting your feelings as they join with my own. For I too will experience these dense and compelling emotions once I reach my final destination with Shiva, where a relationship awaits, with love…oh sweet love. It is here within your heart chakra, that as the writhing snake within your human form, I notice that you are whole, complete, and perfectly intact. Through every lesson, mistake, and triumph, you have developed. I enter your throat chakra and finally we communicate. You can hear me, as I can hear you, with the sounds of your voice and my own echoing between within the rumbles of your desires and ambitions. I too speak and respond by squeezing you tighter and contracting inside of you like the Ouroborus, swallowing my own tail in fascination, as I move through the cycle of your eternity, creation, and the new life which had began after my poison first weaved its way through your veins. Through oracle eyes, I notice that more you let go, the more I feel of you as a frost like glaze continues to cover my pupils. I can see not only your world, but also the world between worlds, as the veil becomes thin behind the curtains of the lower and higher realms through your third eye chakra. You too are hypnotised, and mesmerised by the wisdom we have both found through the magical journey we shared. I am blinded physically by my skin now peeling away, yet you are wide awake and alive… your birth after the death of my venom. My medicine has healed you, like the Caduceaus symbol of two snakes entwined around a single staff. You and me, both purified, detoxed, and at the top of the mountain… your crown. I smile…I let you go…crawling steadily out of your higher dimension. It is here that my skin sheds completing, as Shiva now takes me in his arms where I am complete, as you are now re-born. ellydance is one of the oldest types of dance in existence which focuses on isolated yet flowing movements through various parts of the body. This results in the sensual current of energetic emotion being moulded into a work of artistic expression physically. Bellydance has given me the confidence to accept myself and my body and connect with it in a loving and honourable way. It’s taught me that every woman is a reflection of the Goddess and that we have the confidence and drive within to move forward and tackle any obstacle before us. After suffering an injury recently which healed twice as fast as normal due to the fact I regularly Bellydance, I realised that this wonderful dance works on balancing your body, mind, spirit and emotions and therefore is quite a wholistic modality which allows healing, learning and growing.
Body
Bellydance contains naturally fluid movements which work with the female body’s regular dispositions. Due to this, Bellydance strengthens the core, joints and ligaments, tones the muscles, straightens the spine, leads to better developed balance and co-ordination, improves flexibility in a painless and safe manner and improves the digestive system. Repetitive movements found within Bellydance can improve circulation and breath and corrects stiffness which occurs with a predominate sedentary lifestyle. Even if you only dance for an hour a week, it can severely enhance your cardiovascular capacity and when practiced more often can increase lung capacity. Your body changes after continued practice of Bellydance and this is due to the fact it’s a weight baring exercise which assists in weight loss, strengthens your bones and shapes your body into its natural graceful state of shape. Bellydance also strengthens the pelvic floor muscle since its predominately used, therefore it can assist with pms, sexual relations and childbirth. This style of dance can also be useful as a rehabilitative exercise as it’s a gentle way of working through an injury when you have received the go ahead to get back into physical workouts.
Mind
Bellydance contains alternating movements, routines and music which regularly allows a change in scenery. Mixing things up in this way has many mental health benefits as it allows you to enjoy yourself in a pressure free environment. Bellydance is fun and learning it with a within a group environment can not only can elevate you but opens you up to making connections with others. The rhythmic and accompanying movements in Bellydance can also calm and centre you which allows relaxation. Bellydance also causes stress reduction through stimulating yet soothing the mind as well as the increase of happiness and joy due to being involved in something uplifting. Building your self esteem through the feeling of being liberated through Bellydance is attained as well as connecting to yourself through thoughtful and loving self-discovery.
Spirit
Bellydance is a creative outlet which allows a woman to connect to her feminine nature and her natural cycles of her body which is a manifestation of the Goddess within her. Since Bellydance is a ritualised physical and emotional expression it opens one’s ability to honour and connect with deity in a most profound and beautiful way. This connection has been used for millennia as performances of Bellydance have occurred throughout the ages during various celebrations which includes faith/religious ceremonies, coming of age ceremonies, weddings and fertility rites.
Emotion
Bellydance allows you to express your emotions through dance and dancing out your stressors is a great way to work through them. It also helps you forget about your problems and allows you to let things go due to being in the moment with the dance, as quite frankly you just don’t have the time to worry about anything else. Bellydance can help alleviate the symptoms of depression and anxiety and can enable the sensation of feeling sexy in one’s skin. This style of dance also helps improve body confidence and assurance of one self and accompanying abilities, which inspire freedom of expression through a sense of inner strength. Bellydance has brought me many personal benefits and I am grateful for the body, mind, spirit and emotional benefits I have harvested over the years of dancing this path. As always please see your GP before embarking on a new exercise regime and remember that inside every woman is a Goddess and Bellydance is a great way to honour the Goddess inside and outside of yourself. Symbol: The Mandori
The Mandoria is an ancient symbol of wholeness and is the almond shape that is formed in the centre when two circles or Mandala overlap. This space is the common ground between the two opposites. Should we, shouldn’t we, yes, no, this is where our tension and confusion must be worked out. As we heal our inner struggle through self awareness and acceptance, this space expands and the 2 circles become one. In an article, “Mandoria: Ancient Symbol of Wholeness,” Brien Jensen writes, “It is a sanctuary wherein we connect with others. Old life is refreshed, and new life is nurtured and protected. Above all, it is a threshold from which healing new life for us emerges.”
Rune: Sowilo
Sowilo means the Sun and this rune stimulates the solar plexus chakra, boosting our self confidence, optimism, our individual will power, health, strength and fertility. Its keyword is wholeness and it presents us with the ability to successfully transform our thoughts into positive invigorating life changing action in all areas of our lives and our endeavours. A rune of guidance, goal setting and success, if Sowilo appears in your reading, then it’s a time when you will have the energy, strength and power to make great positive changes in your life, changes that will boost your energy levels and increase your enthusiasm for life. 34

Planet: The Sun The Sun represents the self and a person’s core identity. It gives us a sense of purpose and personal goals and is the source of our energy, vitality and health. It describes the talents and natural abilities that need to be developed over the course of a person’s lifetime to bring us into a feeling of Spiritual and Physical wholeness. When you are recognised by others for your talents and your potential, your Sun shines brightly, bringing with it fulfilment, joy and a sense of coming home which can be passed on to others.
Crystal: Aqua Aura Aqua Aura is a clear quartz crystal that through a vacuum process is bonded with molten gold, creating an immensely powerful protection crystal in an iridescent display of Blue and Gold. It stimulates the Throat and Third Eye Chakras, bringing wisdom to expressive communication, relieves depression and anxiety and brings deep inner peace in meditation reconnecting us with the Earth. Aqua Aura frees the mind of limitations, transforms restrictions into opportunities and helps you to find your own space, bringing spiritual wholeness and attracting into your life, people who will value your true inner beauty and unique qualities.
Tarot: The World The World is a card of completion, the path you have chosen has brought you full circle back to where you started. When you left you were The Fool, young, naive and often foolish but now through all your lessons, you return to this position, wiser, stronger and with a deeper understanding of who you are.
Faerie Devas
The word Deva means god or divinity in Sanskrit and Devas are sentient beings. Everything that manifests in the Universe was originally an idea, a thought form, a blue print for life. The Nature Devas ensures that these thought forms manifest, in essence they are the organisers manifesting the ideas formed in the mind of Mother Nature. You could say that Devas are the glue that binds the fabric of the Universe together. In the late 60’s Dorothy Maclean communicated with plant Devas to produce Findhorn, a fertile garden from virtual desert. By simply acknowledging plants existence and being respectful you can learn to communicate intuitively with your own garden’s Plant Devas.
The World embodies the completion of this cycle of your journey; it is a coming together of all that you have obtained, not a material gain but a deep enriching soul fulfilment that gives us an absolute level of joy. If The World should appear in your reading it is a promise of success and a reminder that the highest value in life is the health of your Soul.

Moon Goddess...Artemis Mar & April 2013
O
nce upon a Greek mythical land, Leto and Zeus became parents to twins… one Golden, and the other Silver – they were magical lights of beauty. The Silver Light was known as ‘Goddess of the Moon’ and her name was Artemis. As a favourite to the powerful king Zeus, Artemis was granted many mystical gifts… which included her fateful Silver bow and arrow. This archery was fateful, as it was this very Silver, that struck the life from her one true love. An accidental tragedy on Artemis’ behalf… yet a plotted scheme from her Golden twin. This scheme was not an act of pure seemingly obscenity, but a gesture of protection; protection of Artemis’ oath – to be a maiden forever! Her twin tricked Artemis into arrowing her beloved when he was far out at sea. Artemis personifies the maiden; youth, beauty, and femininity. Throughout her adulthood, she chose to remain a maiden and honour her child-like independence. She commanded respect of this chosen oath from the outer world mercilessly. Then her outer world arrowed back to her the same energetic frequency, with one act from her very own twin. Nevertheless, Artemis’ doting father sent her beloved to the sky as a constellation for her to admire from afar. This is a tragic love story indeed, but it portrays to us the importance of moving with nature. It wasn’t natural for Artemis to remain a maiden throughout her adult years. Because of this, a balance was implemented in an attempt for harmony in respect to Artemis’ oath and actions. Her resistance to maturity led to the tangible physical form of her love, to be taken away from her, and placed in the sky. With this teaching in mind… let’s look at what the sky has aligned for us, not to move from afar, but with our potential this March and April! March 1-2 * Moon in Libra Amidst the beauty in this Silver Light, your soul feels quiet, fulfilled, joyful, and happy. Sudden unexpected waves may usher in the discomforts you associate with the ocean; your subconscious waters. Rest into where your happiness lies, and allow your watery depths to flow. March 2-3 * Moon in Scorpio Within your Silver currents, you’re feeling blissfully sparkly and bubbles of love fill the air.Your thoughts are deep and clear,
38

and your bow strings are harmoniously in tune. You have the dynamic energy, inspiration, and self-government to strike what you believe will empower and fulfil you. March 4-5 * Moon in Sagittarius Moon Last Quarter There is much that this Archer reminisces about in many shades of gray, blue… and red! Let’s face it, if only they were mixed together, a luxurious purple would make you feel serene… yet the blue just makes you red… take heart as new opportunities are in sight, just keep your head up, and follow your happiness. March 6-8 * Moon in Capricorn If Artemis wished for an alignment to make her earthly dreams come true, this would definitely be it! Chaos may oppose any tightly held disfigured beliefs, yet your imagination and realitygrounding are in harmony, making for a smooth flow to your equilibrium.Your inspiration is ready, your heart is set, and your intrinsic power and knowing urges you to go - straight for your destiny!! March 8-9 * Moon in Aquarius A soothing time where you feel accomplished and happy. In this newly found freedom, your spirit runs free with extra earthly gained ground. As we are approaching the new moon, it’s time to quieten momentarily, although your self-confidence wishes to keep running ahead. March 10-12 * Moon in Pisces New Moon Artemis’ divinely feminine qualities rise to the surface, in awareness of her depths within. It’s a time of harmonious primordial healing.Your cognitive interpretations will be spot on too! There are heartfelt moments where your equilibrium of bridging your dreams into the earthly reality feel challenged, but altruistically progressive. March 13 * Moon in Aries Feeling youthfully bold, your unique flair and tastes emerge to the surface level.Your inspired enthusiasm puts a bounce in your step too. With all this energy, you will probably prefer to push down any difficult-to-process currents and influences until later.
Elizabeth Vaccaro ElizabethVaccaro is a philospher of the natural world. Her new ebook ‘Enchanted Healing Philosophy’ can be found on her website @ www.elizabethvaccaro.com
March 15-17 * Moon in Taurus A sacred truth will be oozed out of you in a light of forgiveness, beauty, and love. On the surface level, there are some hiccups around commitments, with equilibrium in the distance. Around this, surrounds godly assistance of nurturing love, bold inspiration, and clarity of thought.
March 29-30 * Moon in Scorpio Now that your reality meets your wishes, you feel a surge of power and accomplishment. From this newly acquired platform, thoughts are inspired, you feel comfort in your being, and you have a strong sense of stability, all providing momentum to your path ahead.
March 17-20 * Moon in Gemini Moon First Quarter There is a big dream that you have your sights on that you wish to attain. The idea of having it brings you sensations of bliss and mystery. Considering the side of you that relates to Artemis’ inability to be united with her true desire, you may feel as though it doesn’t belong to you and worry about it’s attainability to the point of aggravation and pessimism. Do remember that wishes take a little time to come true.
March 31-April 1 * Moon in Sagittarius Dynamic energy. The Golden balance to your Silver Light is in the candescent forces. Disrupting this is a sensation that something’s ‘missing’. This is actually a ‘have’ that is positively ushering from the outside-in. Give any pessimism or overactive problem-solving time off. Let your dynamic potential fill your being.
March 20-21 * Moon in Cancer Allow your emotions to roam free, as they’re likely to anyway… and allow your clear channel of understanding and wisdom to transform any heady beliefs into a peaceful, calm, serene centre. March 22-23 * Moon in Leo Following your recent mediative transition, it’s time to reveal your clarity openly.Yet, the complete manifestation of a big dream hasn’t all come to fruition – but it is definitely on its way!!! Positive progress… woohoo! March 25 * Moon in Virgo Attention is brought to finding equilibrium and it feels serious. Saturn is onside assisting you to create a structure, and your internal stirrings come from the deep; emotional, and the air; intellectual – in a conducive balancing synthesis. Expansion is on the horizon… nearly there! March 27-28 * Moon in Libra - Full Moon As the manifest-reality is now your predominant arena of a deeply held wish, your level of comfort in this new territory is customising. You have made exceptional progress, yet you may feel overwhelmed because you are still adjusting to the experience of it. Just rest on the internal balancing act of your spiritual alchemy – it’s happening!
April 2-3 * Moon in Capricorn Moon Last Quarter There are a few difficulties threatening your momentum and inspiration, influencing some existential inner questioning.Your stable focus and dreamy comforts support you. Remember to keep your faith in good esteem. April 4-6 * Moon in Aquarius It’s a time for harvest and your self-confidence has been restored to its potential. You’re feeling inspired and any external dogma may irritate you a little. Surroundings are loving, and passion is in the air… April 7-8 * Moon in Pisces Now is a time when your thoughts can gain insight into your deepest emotions, imagination stirrings, and your overall spiritual health. This clarity is involved in the preparation it takes to identify that which you wish to actualise to bring your soul into utmost harmony for the benefit of the Artemis archetype in all of us. April 9-11 * Moon in Aries - New Moon The New Moon presents you with a dynamic power to instigate change. New beginnings.Your inner alchemy may find this adaptation time unsettling – it’s natural to take time to adjust. Inner self-belief and trust is optimal, and the motivating assurance feels cosmic. The sky’s constellations wish the best for you, bringing you along the journey closer to unity with your twin flame. www.goddessguruezine.com

April 11-13 * Moon in Taurus SERENITY!!! You are feeling absolute beauty and harmony. Your self-belief has brought a new sense of unity between you and your twin flame – whether you’re together or on your way there, deep transformative progress has been made. Keep making it. April 14-16 * Moon in Gemini If you feel cut off from your blissful languid serenity, know that you’re adjusting to a new state of being. Synthesisation of your new auric aptitude brings old ways into alignment. More sunlight and optimism are filtering through and your world is expanding. It’s a dynamic and inspirational frequency. April 16-18 * Moon in Cancer Moon First Quarter Heart flutters, nervousness, and divine emotions – alright! There’s a feeling of being supportively hurried along… yeah, your loving universe supports you!! Upon a feeling of confrontation, you may realise a most non-confronting understanding… that deep within your primordial depths; through all the scariness; beneath it ALL; it is you… what were you so scared of? ;) April 19-20 * Moon in Leo With your beautiful misty Silver Light beneath the bold clarity of this Golden Leo Sunlight, abundance, intellectual flow, and inspiration surround. The dynamism of this contrast may also highlight some hypercriticism and tension. Nevertheless, positives and negatives contrast highly in light like this, take the clarity as a positive achievement. April 21-22 * Moon in Virgo The Virgo Moon has come in to do a tidy-up… but what if you could relax? Energy is great, self-worth is great, there’s a bit of harmonious fine-tuning in your heart-strings taking place, love relationships are blissful, recent earthly progress checked, and peering inside your inner ocean… you’re cool with you! It’s best to gently synthesise now… any motions forward will be hindered.

April 23-24 * Moon in Libra Now that we have cleaned all our subconscious waters, clean enough for the sunlight to filter through to the deep… your world has expanded and you have moved to a higher level of being… and it’s time to do it all over again! Adaptation is a balancing act… you’re learning new skills – perhaps refining your multi-tasking agility. April 25-26 * Moon in Scorpio Full Moon As new emotions sink in, you are motivated by your intrinsic depths, and actions come from a precise, confident demeanour. There are a few uncertainties… your energy and selfactualisation levels seem to waver, and you’re on the receiving end of love, but it seems distant.Your balance in this new level is adjusting. April 27-29 * Moon in Sagittarius This new higher level is STILL taking some adjusting to.Your momentum and expansion levels waver from high, to ground level, to in-between, to everywhere! It isn’t a surprise that you’re feeling emotionally discordant, yet you are exploring new horizons and thinking creatively… the new harvests happiness. April 30 * Moon in Capricorn It’s love! There may be some boundaries to implement, and adjustments to make here and there… but these are earthly integrated cosmic transits for divine love at a high frequency! Enjoy… May all the Artemis archetypes be healed and reunited with your twin flames while on Earth. Peaceful blessings to all!

R
alph Waldo Emerson wrote in his essay “Spiritual Law’s” that “A little consideration of what takes place around us every day would show us that a higher law than that of our will regulates events; that our painful labours are unnecessary and fruitless; that only in our easy, simple, spontaneous action are we strong, and by contenting ourselves with obedience we become divine. Belief and love, a believing love will relieve us of a vast load of care. O my brothers, God exists.”
There is no greater relationship than having one with our CREATOR. He is faithful to be there in the good times and the bad ones, and never leaves you nor forsakes you. He also loves you unconditionally and longs to express himself uniquely through you. We each have a destiny and our choices have a destination. God knows where you are, and he’s ready to take you just as you are. The only thing you have to do is allow him into your life. And when you do something so profound happens it’s hard to articulate.
I once read that the existence of our planet and its ability to support the diversity of life that we know, would be equivalent to throwing up every word in the Webster’s dictionary and having them land in perfect alphabetical order. That’s an incredible thought. Our ability to perceive life and examine our universe is a miracle in itself! Is the love I feel for my husband, or the love you feel for your children only a chemical reaction in the brain? I believe love is God’s expression through us. I sense it and know He is real and if you desire knowing God begin developing a personal relationship with Him.
God brings you out of darkness and into light, love and truth and it sets you free. This relationship will help make you steady and stable and give you peace and joy. No other relationship will fill you so completely. God improves every area of your life, and each step you take reveals his great love for you. It is a beautiful connection that changes everything in your life.Your invitation for this more fulfilled and complete life awaits and is the greatest gift you’ll ever receive. Our image becomes divinely connected when we come to know God and allow him to love us. Complete, accepted and treasured by him. He gives us beauty for ashes and changes you from the inside out. It is a glorious exchange and a love unlike any you’ve ever experienced. Our image hungers for a relationship with God. It is filled with grace and love. God bless.
Inside each of us is a seed of divinity and in that very seed our God potential is born. Have you ever listened to your thoughts and heard your little voice within you? Many call it your conscience or intuition but your “little voice” can also be known as the voice of God. We’ve all experienced times when we’ve had a strong feeling in our heart about some one, only to find out they were trying to contact or were thinking about us. I believe that’s God speaking and directing us. When we connect with our Creator our life and image become more secure, hopeful and peace lives in our heart.

Editors Choice The Holy Book of Women’s Mysteries by Zsuzsanna Budapest RRP $19.95 www.Amazon.com
A women’s spirituality classic now back in print! The Holy Book of Women’s Mysteries is essential for Pagans, feminists, and women seeking to learn more about the spiritual path as it relates to the feminine and the Goddess aspects of witchcraft and Wicca. This book is not about reinstating a matriarchy or tearing down patriarchy; it is about women’s spirituality and its relationship with politics and lifestyle. Z. Budapest is one of the founding mothers of modern women’s witchcraft, beginning with the establishment of Susan B. Anthony Coven in Los Angeles in 1971. She catapulted herself into the media spotlight when she was tried as a witch and found guilty in 1975 after being arrested on Venice Beach for reading tarot cards. She fought the charges and, after a nine year battle, won the right for every tarot reader to do so legally. The Holy Book of Women’s Mysteries is a seminal text that contains
