Macquarie Global Leadership Entry Program (GLEP) Expansion We recognise students who are engaging with their school and community in service and leadership have diverse interests. So, we’ve decided to open the Global Leadership Entry Program (GLEP) to almost all Macquarie degrees. Students can now:  choose up to five course preferences  receive multiple offers for different degrees  apply directly through our application portal Applications close Monday 27th August, but apply now and you could receive an offer as early as NEXT MONTH. MACQUARIE UNI CO-OP SCHOLARSHIPS APPLICATIONS OPEN Macquarie University is offering two Co-op programs: 

Bachelor of Actuarial Studies with the degree of Bachelor of Professional Practice

Bachelor of Commerce - Professional Accounting with the degree of Bachelor of Professional Practice

Actuarial students will receive a scholarship of $18,200 p.a. and accounting students will be paid by our partners while they are on each placement. These highly competitive courses will see students alternate between classroom studies and placements throughout their four years of study. Students will undertake three placements, totalling 15 months. Partners supporting the Actuarial Studies Co-op in 2018 are EY, Finity, PwC Australia, NDIA, TAL and Zurich. Partners supporting the 2019 cohort will be advised later in 2018. Applications are now open for both programs. We encourage students to commence their applications as soon as possible. ACU EARLY OFFERS: COMMUNITY ACHIEVERS PROGRAM NOW OPEN Have you volunteered in a sporting or cultural group, parish or community service activity? ACU's Community Achiever Program is designed to acknowledge commitment to our local communities. Regular volunteer work in your community – through a social justice organisation, sporting, performance, cultural or religious group – may be rewarded through our Community Achievers' Program with entry into an undergraduate degree.

A successful CAP application means you could receive an offer as early as August to study at ACU. Being part of this CAP group also offers unique opportunities to enhance your leadership and volunteering skills, while you study. CAP entry is only available for Undergraduate bachelor level degrees at ACU. CAP applications to study in 2019:   

Girls Programming Network The Girls' Programming Network is a group of women and girls into computer science, programming and information technology. We run workshops once per school term for

GUEST SPEAKERS MATTHEW KAMBOS – BUSINESS CADETSHIPS AND CAREERS On Tuesday 15th May, Matthew Kambos, a past school captain of St Spyridon College, spoke to Year 12 students during lunchtime. He informed the students about careers in accountancy, the work of Chartered Accountants ANZ and the cadetship opportunities available to students.

LUNCHTIME TALKS In recent weeks, Senior students have also had lunchtime presentations from some different universities. Representatives from the UNSW Co-op program, Sydney University and Notre Dame University have informed students about their campuses, courses, scholarships, early offers, overseas exchanges and university life in general. These presentations provide a good opportunity for students to explore all the options available to them and to ask any questions they may have. Future talks will be from ACU (8th June), Western Sydney University (19th June) and Macquarie University (26th June). Senior students are strongly encouraged to attend to find out all about the different universities. HEALTH CAREERS EXCURSION Last Thursday, 17th May, six Year 12 students attended the Child Health careers day at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick. They heard from different health professionalsdoctors, nurses, social workers, nutritionists, play therapists, music therapists, physiotherapists and speech pathologists, to name a few, as well as undertaking tours of

different hospital areas such as ICU, Pathology labs and the dialysis unit. Students were also able to visit stalls where staff from the different occupations could provide details about their jobs and career pathways.
