UNSW POWER OF ENGINEERING DAY FOR GIRLS When: 26 September Who: Girls in Years 9 & 10 Where: UNSW Kensington Campus Cost: FREE What: Power of Engineering Day is a one‐day school holiday event for girls in Years 9 & 10 who are interested in maths or science. The program consists of an inspiring keynote speaker, hands‐on workshops demonstra ng disciplines and principles of engineering, and an a ernoon “Industry Experience” session, where companies run ac vi es that demonstrate the work that they do in real life. UNSW WOMEN IN ENGINEERING CAMP When: 15‐19 January 2018 Who: Girls in Years 10 & 11 Where: UNSW Kensington Campus Cost: $200 What: This five‐day residen al camp gives girls going into Years 11 & 12 an in‐depth insight into the engineering industry, engineering degrees and possible careers. Students stay on campus for the week and par cipate in hands‐on ac vi es, site tours, a networking func on with professional engineers and Q&A sessions. They also work on a week‐long design project in a small group. This is a great way to figure out if engineering is the right choice, before enrolling! YOUTH AT THE ZOO @ TARONGA ZOO Boral Youth At The Zoo (YATZ) is a fun, educa onal program for 13 ‐ 19 year olds, held at Taronga Zoo and Taronga Western Plains Zoo. Teens par cipate in a variety of ac vi es both inside and outside of the Zoos, throughout all school holidays and occasionally during the school term. Par cipants get the opportunity to learn about many aspects of our Zoos, while the Zoos benefit from having access to a group of young people with energy, mo va on and a genuine interest in animals. There is a waitlist, and the next intake in November 2017
