symbols of His spiritual and ecclesiastical authority. Secondly, the liturgy is performed outside of the altar on the solea in the nave (the main body of the Church) allowing the faithful to observe the liturgical actions that are taking place. Thirdly, the faithful receive the elements of Holy Communion separately, as the disciples did at the Last Supper (Matthew 26: 17-30). The faithful receive the Body of Christ from His Grace, and then commune the Blood of our Saviour directly from the Holy Chalice. Finally, it is celebrated only once annually and all are welcome to attend.

THE DIVINE LITURGY OF SAINT JAMES THE BROTHER OF OUR LORD Η Θεία Λειτουργία του Αγίου Ιακώβου του Αδελφοθέου. On Sunday the 23rd of October, the Orthodox Church celebrates the memory of St James the brother of our Lord. On this day, His Grace Bishop Seraphim of Apollonia will celebrate the Divine Liturgy of St James at the Greek Orthodox Parish of St Nicholas, Marrickville N.S.W. The liturgical text of this service is the most ancient form of the Divine Liturgy and stands firmly in the apostolic tradition which the local Church of Jerusalem had developed in the first few centuries following the Resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. On the night of the Last Supper, our Lord Jesus had delivered the mystery of the Holy Eucharist to His disciples instructing them “do this in remembrance of Me” (Luke 22: 19). Over the next four centuries, the bishops, as the immediate successors of the Apostles and the guardians of Apostolic Tradition, were able to develop the liturgical practices of the Church around a basic structure of worship that focused on the reading of Holy Scripture and the reception of Holy Communion. By the fourth century A.D., these liturgical practices were recorded in order to ensure a valid and canonical celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Finally, to assure both the historicity and validity of the liturgical text predominant in Jerusalem and in Antioch, the name of the apostle James, the first Bishop of Jerusalem was given to the text. In time, prayers written by Sts Gregory the Theologian and Basil the Great were added; as were hymns including the Thrice-Holy hymn i.e. Ἅγιος ὁ Θεός (5th6th Centuries A.D.) and the Christological Ode of Emperor Justinian I i.e. Ο μονογενής Υιός και Λόγος του Θεού (6th-7th Centuries A.D).

Recently, the students were provided with opportunities to showcase their talents through authentic learning platforms outside the classroom. Ms McCarthy and Miss Bletsogiannis coordinated Write4Fun and Oz Kids in Print and along with Mrs Bartlett and the Primary teachers, entered students into both of these.

SSC UMBRELLAS On a final note, don’t forget that the P&F Committee as part of its ongoing fundraising, have available for purchase, quality umbrellas with the school logo. These may be purchased at both the Senior and Junior College front office. Small folding umbrella: $25 Large Golf Style Umbrella: $40 Please don’t hesitate to email or call the P&F for further information.

We are proud to announce that we had more than 10 students successfully progress past the initial judging stages in the 2016 schools Write4Fun competition and we have been presented with a Certificate of Excellence. This is an extraordinary result as less than 10% of schools achieved this level of achievement. We look forward to the announcement of the winners on the 26th of October.

JUNIOR SCHOOL REPORT

We congratulate Anastasia Lambrou from Year 6 who had her literary work published in Oz Kids in Print last month and, who is now eligible for the 2016 Young Australian Writer’s Award. Well done Anastasia! We look forward to reading more or your stories. We thank Ms McCarthy and Mrs Bartlett for encouraging Anastasia and supporting her with her writing.

Welcome back to Term 4! We warmly welcome to our St Spyridon family, Kalliopi & Kostantinos Zisopoulos and Dominque & Eva Kaleel and families. Our prayers and best wishes are extended to Year 12 who are currently completing their HSC. May our Lord give you wisdom and patience.

OXI DAY COMMEMORATION A reminder that the Year Six student Leadership Team and K – 2 are expected to attend the OXI DAY service at St Spyridon Church on Sunday 30th October. Students will be required to meet their teachers in the Primary Courtyard at 10:00am and be dressed in their Full School Uniform (including blazers).

IMAGINATIVE, INTEPRETIVE, CRITICAL AND CREATIVE WORK After working with the new National English syllabus for a couple of years now, we have seen a real mind shift in the way English is taught and learnt in our school. The objectives have truly put the learner in the driver’s seat and encouraged them to take a more active role in their learning. The children are now better placed to express themselves, reflect on their learning and that of others, because they have language with which to engage with this process. The quality of the responses provided by students both within the classroom and beyond has become evident.

Children were also asked to work across subject areas in Science, Technology, English for Year 6’s fundraiser: Future Scientists Day. All K – 6 children came dressed as Future Scientists and enjoyed a day of practical scientific inquiry in their classrooms. Children from Years 3 – 6 had the option of entering the Little Big Ideas competition online as well as our own, Are You St Spyridon College’s Future Scientist Competition. It demonstrated for all those present at our assembly, how important general capabilities are for concepts to be fully explored and understood. Miss Blestsogiannis is thanked for guiding and supporting the Year 6 fundraising. Please read on in our newsletter to find out who our finalists were.

OLYMPICS DAY Last term, the Year 6 students as part of their leadership program organised and lead “The St Spyridon College Olympic Games”. Inspired through sport and the values and ethos of our College Year 6 prepared activities for all classes K – 5 and worked in teams to run these activities.

CONGRATULATIONS

The children enjoyed being outdoors and enthusiastically engaged with all the activities. They cooperated with one another and demonstrated sportsmanship. During the breaks they spread out and enjoyed the open space, playing their own games. Not one complaint or argument was heard.

CONGRATULATIONS

Our Congratulations are extended to Sienna, Alexa and Sara Theocharidis and their parents, on the birth of the newest member of their family baby Alyssa. Wishing them good health and long life.

Athena Demetriou received Senior performance award at her annual Deidre Bronner School of ballet concert. She also received the highest score of 94/100 for her first major exam in RAD Intermediate Foundation in the whole school!

We thank Ms McCarthy for coordinating the day and preparing the students and Mr Davies for assisting. Our thanks are extended to Mrs Bourdaniotis and our P & F for providing lunch.

Below are some accounts from the VIPs themselves. On Friday 16th September, 2016 Year 2 were lucky enough to go on an excursion to Sydney Olympic Park and get a behind the scenes tour of ANZ Stadium, where the Sydney 2000 Olympics were held. First, we did some activities on the bus, which took one hour to get to Sydney Olympic Park. Next, we went to a place that looked like a big shopping centre, but there was only one shop to buy football team things. We got out our clipboards from our bag and finished some questions about the big tall poles that were outside the stadium. After that, we went up lots of escalators and watched a video about the opening ceremony on a big television. From up the top of the stadium we would see the cricket and football field and we got to ask the lady questions about it. After the tour, we went across the road to have lunch on the grass. After that, we did some measurement activities then it was time to get back on the bus. I thought the excursion was amazing, because I haven’t seen a field in real life before! Evelina Neroutsos 2C

On Friday 16th September, 2016 Year 2 were lucky enough to go on an excursion to Sydney Olympic Park and get a behind the scenes tour of ANZ Stadium, where the Sydney 2000 Olympics were held.

YEAR 2 VISIT SYDNEY OLYMPIC STADIUM Well before all of our Year 2 students were even born, Sydney hosted the ‘best Olympic Games ever’ (declared by Juan Antonio Samaranch IOC President). As part of our continuing Olympic fever, Year 2 ventured out to Sydney Olympic Park to see, first-hand, some of the phenomenal venues used for the Games of the XXVII Olympiad as well as get some VIP treatment and visit some behind the scenes parts of Stadium Australia (now ANZ Stadium).

First, we got on the bus to go to the excursion. When we got there, we walked to the tour section to put our bags down under the escalator. Then we went back outside to the Olympic Poles to see what was written on each one! On the green pole were the names of all the athletes in the Australian team for the Sydney 2000 Olympics and on the yellow pole was the Paralympic team. Then we went into the real tour. The 2C tour guide was Lynne and 2A had Carol. We went to level 6 first, to watch a video of some of the highlights of the Sydney opening ceremony and how the stadium has been used. After that, we went outside to sit in the stadium. We could see 2A on the field, they looked so small! Then we went down to level 3 to see the media boxes, where the television and radio stations are for each game at ANZ. Next stop was level zero!

10

This was under all the seats. We got to see the warm-up and change rooms. We got to run out of the players’ tunnel and heard a fake cheering of the crowd. Next, we all mat back at our bags to go to Cathy Freeman Park to have a picnic lunch. First thing we did after lunch was get into our groups and work on some Maths challenges. My group started with mapping the park, we had to include the Olympic Cauldron, the Paralympic Patrons, the sculpture of the Eight Women, The Attractor and Cathy Freeman’s Strides. Then we went on a 2D shape hunt, found some parallel lines and how 3D shapes were used for useful things like seats and poles.

Year 2 picnicking by the Sydney Olympic Cauldron which was famously lit by Gold Medallist Cathy Freeman at the Opening Ceremony on September 15th, 2000 (16 years and one day before our excursion)

After that, we measured Cathy Freeman’s strides using our own footsteps and then used tape measures to find out how many centimetres her strides were then compare them to our own biggest stride! Mine was 81cm! I thought the excursion was fun, exciting and a very good day out! Zac Boutsalis 2C

HSC INTENSIVE STUDIO PRACTICE Constantinos Kollias and Irene Roussis spent five days during July and then the September school holidays at the National Art School in Darlinghurst completing the HSC Intensive Studio Practice course. Constantinos worked on the Printmaking studio focusing on the practice of etching. Quote from Constantinos “The atmosphere was dynamic and encouraging. I learnt new skills that enhanced and harnessed my creativity.” Irene was in the painting studio. Quote from Irene, “At NAS I was given autonomy in what I did. There was no judgment from the staff but they did give a lot of positive energy and feedback. I didn’t feel left out, as we were all new and in the same boat.” What should be noted is that most schools only had one student accepted into the program. St Spyridon was unusual having multiple

THE COMMUNICATOR’S FORUM EVENT AT MACARTHUR ANGLICAN SCHOOL

FROM THE ART ROOM

The English Team had the pleasure of taking eighteen Year 7-11 students to a communicator’s forum held at Macarthur Anglican School on Wednesday 12th October. The students engaged in a variety of workshops conducted by NIDA teachers with the aim of improving their public speaking skills. Whether it was practical techniques for speaking with confidence or using storytelling to engage an audience, all students had the opportunity to work with professional actors, writers and directors to gain an insight to innovative ways of presenting their own story.

Year 8 has been busy in the last term masking masks that represent themselves as an animal. The process required first, taking a plaster cast of their face and researching the shape of their animal. The students had to develop their design from 2-D drawings into 3-D forms. We used a combination of paper pulp and other physical textures. The final stages of painting required the students to produce simulated textures. The results varied, although some were excellent. Pictures of the results are pinned up around the school. The task is now to identify the beasts.

Students were later given the task of preparing a short pitch on the given question: When everyone has a story to tell, how do we know who to listen to? All students put together an impressive 3 minute piece around this poignant question. Mrs Laskas and I felt incredibly proud when the NIDA teachers announced that 4 of our own students impressed them the most, taking first position with their unique pitch.

In Week 5 Middle School students will be sitting examinations in most subjects. Subsequently, the term ahead will be full of new and old challenges for everyone. Students will have begun to receive Exam Notifications outlining what will be tested. In Pastoral Care over the coming weeks, all students will be focussing on further developing their academic skills and preparing effectively for this important time. We encourage parents to support their children by overseeing their study routine at home and discouraging any counter-productive distractions such as Instagram, Skype, Facebook, mobile phones, and playing electronic games etc.

OLYMPICS CELEBRATION DAY On the 20th of September 2016, St Spyridon College decided to hold an Olympics day at Roland Park that day. The day was hosted by the students of Year 6; as they ran all the activities, and were split into lead groups for both infants and primary. As a leadership group, that the leading students chose independently, Year 6 were to work together to host an activity for infants or primary, depending on which one they picked. Lucia 6M

Once the children got to their activities the Year 6 students then explained in detail the rules of the game. Then Year 6 started each of the events, and they accurately refereed the games, and didn’t tolerate cheating, cursing or violence. Nick and Stathis 6P

The infants events included Weightlifting, Egg and Spoon Race and much more! In the Egg and Spoon Race, which was hosted by: Erin And Christina, they had 1 class at a time, and made them race with a plastic egg that broke in half when you dropped it off the wooden spoon. There were four teams of mixed houses that participated with a great attitude. Erin and Natalia 6M

After recess, we did the 2nd round of activities hosted by 6P. I (Foti) was hosting Simon Says and I (Tiana) was hosting Simon Says and Oz Tag. Simon Says was fun and cute, as all the kids were surprisingly listening to everything we said. I (Tiana) helped in a few activities; one being Oz Tag, and the second being Simon Says. Oz Tag was tricky, as there wasn’t a lot of time to put the class in to even teams. Yet overall, the activity was extremely fun. After I helped a bit in Oz Tag, I went over to my friends at Simon Says. Foti and Tiana 6M Then came lunch time, where we all enjoyed a nice sausage sizzle from the P&F Committee! We then held our Closing Ceremony which was hosted by Leanna, Tiana, Sia and James. All the students received a participation certificate for their hard work on the day. Stephen and Leanna 6M

Year 6 had planned and trialled all the events to make all the activities as fun as possible. Our first activity that we led was the Triathlon; where the kids would run, jump over hurdles and throw bean bags through a hula hoop. Then we had a break and started our second and third events which were soccer and cricket. Dyllon and Nixon 6P

All children were encouraged to participate and do the best of their ability. Everybody tried their best, no matter what the challenge, which was very pleasing for the Year 6 instructors. We made it as fun as possible for students to appreciate all of the hard work put in to the day. Year 6 put a lot of effort and time into preparing the activities and the way they worked. It was very satisfying seeing that all the children thoroughly enjoyed the planned activities, and had lots of fun. The Year 6 instructors adjusted their activity for every class, and had a brilliant day filled with exercise.

PERSONAL RESPONSE “Paws” Have you ever found yourself wondering where your corner in the big wide world is? Where to search for it? Well, ‘Paws’ the main character in the beautiful picture book entitled ‘Paws’, written by Kathy Finikakos and illustrated by Heath McKenzie, was curious about his journey in discovering his corner. This short illustrated story is about Paws, an adventurous young bear, who is interested in finding where he belongs in this confusing world. Roman, his impatient father, gets bothered when Paws asks multiple questions about the world outside the circus. He asks about the mountains, the fish, and other cool things outside the world. But at the end of the story, Paws discovers that he belongs in the arms of his father.

Overall, from this Olympics Day I think we have learned a lot of life skills and leadership skills. It shows that Year 6 can take on any challenge and lead in any environment. With the hard work and effort from Year 6, with the help from Miss McCarthy, the Olympics Day was a huge success. Sia and Sophia 6P

I truly believe that this is a fantastic book with interesting pictures in it. I found this book very original and unique. I think in the future Paws is going to be Roman's right hand man, and going to be a dancer like his talented father. I think that Roman and Paws are going to be the most famous dancers in the world. I recommend this story to anyone who likes adventure and expanding their imagination. I can relate to Paws because I always ask questions and I never get the right answers. And I am also a very curious person. I love to live life to the fullest, because you're only going to explore one life. I think the moral of the story is to be grateful with what you've got, to love the simplest things in life and to live life to the fullest. Go ahead with your life, because the adventure will come to you later in the future. It is a good lesson to learn! Amanda Carayannis 5I

We finished off with a closing ceremony where some children from Year 6 read out their speeches of how proud they were of all participants, and gave every single student an award of participation. Everyone had a fantastic day. Thank you to all the staff, parents and students for attending and participating in the activities on this day. Year 6 had heaps of fun leading and collaborating with all the Junior School students. It was a pleasure to assist on that day. Anastasia and Adriana 6M

BOYS SPORT 2XU NSW ALL SCHOOLS ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS

REPRESENTATIVE

We also have two boys trialling or competing at higher representative levels in various sporting pursuits. We wish them both the best of luck in what will be challenging events.

On Sunday 16th October 2016, Nicholas Kollias of Year 10 attended the NSW All Schools Athletics Championships at Homebush Olympic park. For many years, Nicholas has been involved in High Jump and has managed to qualify for the CIS Merit team and subsequently NSW all schools every year since Year 7. Nicholas is one of the Schools most successful athletes featuring in many of the schools broken records over the years.

Spiros Zafiropoulos is trialling for the U15 Boys CIS cricket team over two days.

In previous years at the NSW All Schools, Nicholas had finished just outside the placings. This year however, Nicholas managed to be placed 2nd with a personal best jump of 1.88m, breaking not only his previous best but also the school record at the same time. This jump has ensured that Nicholas will now go on to represent the College and NSW at the Australian All Schools Athletics Championships to be held in Canberra in December.

Marko Gacevic has been included in the ISA Open boys water polo team which will be competing at the NSWCIS Water Polo championships at Knox Grammar. Marko is only in Year 8 and will be competing against much older opposition. Despite this, Marko is no stranger to playing up in higher age groups having played in many U16 teams in water polo.

This is a wonderful achievement and we wish Nicholas Kollias the very best in his pursuit for sporting excellence.

Nicholas Good Luck to both boys in their sporting endeavours.

BOYS BASKETBALL While the academic year comes to a close, in sport the basketball is just beginning and all

the teams are preparing for the upcoming season which culminates in finals played early in 2017. This year we have 6 teams representing the College, with the regular season beginning next week on Saturday 22nd October.

BOYS BASKETBALL SHOOTING HOOPS – PROGRAMME

TEAMS LUNCH

BOYS BASKETBALL FIRST V ISA INVITATIONAL 2016

Boys representing the school in Basketball on Saturday have all been given the opportunity to fine tune their shooting skills in the school SPACe at lunch on Monday/Tuesday and Friday.

Saturday 15th October 2016 the Open boys’ basketball team attended the annual ISA Opens Invitational basketball tournament at Oakhill College.

In the coming weeks, boys will be involved in a shooting competition and all boys are encouraged to spend time at lunch to test their shooting capabilities against their peers.

Last year, the relatively young team experienced Open boys’ basketball for the first time. This year those boys welcomed some new boys to the team. After the tri series last term, the boys have shown that they will be competitive this season and the team goal is certainly going to be to try and match if not go one better than last year’s effort of making the Division 2 semi-finals.

SPORTS PRESENTATION EVENING

The day involved 5 games and while not fully timed and only 2 x 12 minute halves, the boys used the opportunity to learn as much about themselves as well as about what needs to be done to be successful. From the 5 games played, the team only managed one win, defeating Blue Mountains Grammar with losses to St Andrews, St Augustines and Oakhill. This was an invaluable learning experience and will no doubt solidify the teams resolve to succeed.

GIRLS SPORT ISA

On Tuesday 3rd November 2016, the school will be celebrating sporting success at the annual sports presentation evening in the Senior School Sports and Performing Arts Centre at 6pm. Individual student and team success will be celebrated including awarding the Sportsperson of the Year for 2016.

The ISA Basketball 2016-17 has commenced and this year we have a total of 7 girls basketball teams competing. The Open girls were given the opportunity to compete in a pre-season tournament hosted by St Andrews Cathedral School. They played a combination of Division 1 and 2 schools and whilst they were unable to secure a victory they showed positive signs for the season ahead.

On a personal note, I look forward to watching the boys in their first round match up against Redfield College.

Scores were as follows; Barker College 20 defeated St Spyridon 12 Oxley College 19 defeated St Spyridon 12 Chevalier College defeated St Spyridon SACS 13 defeated St Spyridon 11

Good luck in the upcoming ISA season which begins next week.

SCHOOL GYM FIRST V BASKETBALL PROGRAMME 2016

All other teams have commenced training with their coaches each Thursday. We have a number of parent volunteers and ex-student coaches on board this season to help develop the girl’s skills further. Thank you, to all coaches for dedicating their time to training and the games on Saturdays.

This term the Open Boys basketball team and any other boys in Years 10-12 who may be interested in training in the Gym are advised that the gym will be open at Lunch on Mondays and Wednesday mornings. All interested students are to see Mr Kaldis.

These sessions are vital to assist in the development of their skills and fitness. These sessions will enable our coaches to spend more time in developing their game sense and tactical approach during their ISA training period and each Monday morning can focus on predominately the fitness component that tends to be lacking in most of our teams. The session dates are listed below; Monday 24th October 7.30am Monday 31st October 7.30am Monday 7th November 7.30am Monday 14th November 7.30am Monday 21st November 7.30am Any student who cannot attend may only be exempt from Ms O’Shea. having fun, until the car somehow was thrown into a building. Everything was flaming up around me until I stuck my hands out and said “Help me!”. I had my hands facing the street, and then I ended up on a street.

THE MIND GIRL

I was hurt, a bit burnt, so I was taken to hospital and I healed an hour later. I don’t understand how this happened, they wanted to take me to a science lab and have me tested so I ran away until I bumped into my cousin Josh, he picked me up and threw me around, he is 17. He took me to the park. He told me that you need to stay with me, and that we’re going to find out how we got here and solve this problem. Nine years later I was 20 years old. My cousin was 26, I got into an argument with him and I flung my hand out and a glass was floating in the air. I slowly lowered my hand and the glass was slowly lowering down. Then I passed out from fear. Josh called the ambulance but a man and a woman asked Josh if they could take me to their science lab, then Josh just pushed them out of the way and they went flying.

Chapter 1 My name is Hillary Smith. At my tenth birthday party something unusual happened, we had just cut the cake and in a second I appeared in Los Angeles. Yeah that’s right, from Boston to Los Angeles! I was only ten and my parents weren’t there with me. No one that I knew was there and this is how it all began.

Chapter 2 Josh was freaking out he didn’t know why he pushed them out of the way, he doesn’t know how he used that much force. He was too scared to help them up, they both helped each other up. The man said “My name is Neo” and the lady said “My name is Tiffany, how did you push us and why did you push us?!”. Josh said “I don’t know how and why this happened. I think you’re gonna have to take me and Hillary”. So they were off to Neo and Tiffany’s lab place. As they were on their way to the lab Tiffany asked Josh “What is your name?”. “Oh sorry, I forgot to introduce myself my name is Josh.” As they arrived there Hillary woke up. She said “Where am I?”. Josh turned around. “Hill, you’re okay, they’re going to help us. Something strange happened to me. I pushed Neo and Tiffany without me wanting to and using extra strength.” Hillary said “Who is Neo and Tiffany?”. Tiffany said “We are here to help you. I just did a few tests on you and somehow you have powers!”. Hillary said “Powers me a power human”. “Can I get out

I turned myself into the police and I tried to give a statement on how out of nowhere I appeared in L.A., but I was ten full with imagination, as if he would believe me. So they sent me to an orphanage, I didn’t want to go but I had no choice because who was going to look after me? I introduced myself to the secretary. “Hi my name is—” “I don’t care little girl!” yelled the secretary, “but you don’t know my name and who I am”. “LIKE I CARE!” she chucked keys to Hillary. Hillary said “What are these for?” The secretary said, “What do you think, the keys to my house, they’re for your room, you stupid little girl!” So I went looking for my room. Lucky the room number was on the keys. It was a very dull room. I just hope that my parents find me. One year later, I heard that a couple were looking to adopt a kid. I hoped that kid was me, I had to get out of there. Their names were Will and Shay. They were wonderful people, lucky I was the kid who left with Will and Shay. We were laughing and

him.” “Stop! Leave everyone alone.” Hillary struck her hand out. “Hello Hillary Smith, long time no see, I have missed you. Have you missed me?” “Gordon?”, Hillary said. “How do you remember me and how do you have these powers?”, she said in a confident voice. “Oh you know, I was passed out and I woke up and I can move things with my mind”, Gordon said. Hillary says, “Leave everyone alone”. “Why would I do that?”, Gordon said in an evil voice. He threw a tree on top of a car. Hillary screamed “No!!”. There was no time to try and stop the tree. Hillary ran to the car trying to open the door. She tried moving the tree with her powers but she couldn’t pick up the tree! She screamed through the earpiece “I can’t pick up the tree!”.

of this situation, can I get rid of it?” said Hillary. “No, but let’s get this straight, never say ‘power human’ ever again, it sounds stupid, say ‘metahuman’ ”. “What if you become a superhero?” said Neo. Tiffany says “You’re kidding, right? She is going to save people in dangerous matters”. “And I’m a superhero”, Hillary says. “Who could this possibly be? Now who are you?” “Nice to meet you too. My name is Rebecca Gray. They call me ‘The Fighter’. I can fight really well and if a ball is about to hit someone, as soon as it’s in the air I sense it’s going to hit them!”, Hillary says. “What’s with the red and black suit and the hood?!”, Rebecca says. “I designed it myself so when I go and rescue people or I have to rescue myself I wear the suit.” “I LOVE THE SUIT!!”, said Hillary. Tiffany says, “Ah well, since Hillary is a ‘superhero’ I think she needs a suit”. “One step ahead of you!”, called out Neo. “While I was inside I was designing a suit for the ‘Mind Girl’ ”. “You called me the ‘Mind Girl’! That’s awesome”, said Hillary. “OH ITS READY!!” shouted Neo. “NO WAY!” “That’s awesome!”, said Hillary. Hillary said, “Black and purple! That looks amazing, with black boots, black hood and black gloves!”

“You’re not capable of picking up anything heavy, yet you can only move something as heavy as a human”, Tiffany said. Gordon said “Can’t lift the tree?”. Tiffany said, “I just found some more samples of your blood and it says you have super strength, but I’m not sure if you can lift something that heavy!”. “I can!”, Rebecca shouted out of nowhere, so Rebecca picked up the tree. Hillary said “You did it!” and “The lady is dead”. Rebecca got cuffs out and tried to handcuff Gordon. He tried to throw a car on top of her but she moved fast because she has the mind when something is gonna hurt someone or hit! Gordon tried fighting her but Rebecca is the best fighter. No one can beat her unless they have the exact same powers. Rebecca was able to headlock him and so she handcuffed him. Rebecca says “Tiff, you’re gonna have to make an injection that makes someone lose their powers or makes them sleep for a day”. Neo responded, “Again, one step ahead of you”. Rebecca said, “Hey we’re back.” “Bye bye whoever you are”, said Neo and he interjected Gordon, “No”. Hillary said, “I wanted to talk to him. Never mind, I will do it after. Now we need to find out where we want to put him”. Josh said, “Do you have a warehouse?”. “Come with me”, said Rebecca.

“Looks like you have your first mission Hillary, off you go The Mind Girl!” said Tiffany. “OK, wish me luck, where do I have to go?”, said Hillary. “Oh right, go to Rodeo Drive in Beverley Hills.” “That’s my favourite place”, said Hillary. “Whoever it is, they’re going down. No one messes with Beverley Hills.” “Wait, I don’t think she is ready”, said Josh. “Yes I am”, said Hillary. “I’m gonna prove you wrong”, said Hillary. So off she went. “Why didn’t you stop her?”, said Josh, who was speaking directly to Tiffany. “Because if I don’t let her go she would be demanding me to send her. But now that I sent her, I also sent Rebecca so if something goes wrong Rebecca will help. And Hillary would realise that she isn’t ready. She also wouldn’t want to go and save people yet because she knows she isn’t ready”, said Tiffany. “Smart thinking”, said Josh, impressed with Tiffany’s plan.

They walked through hallways that looked like an underground secret place. “Where are we?”, said Hillary.

Hillary said through the earpiece, “I’m here, there’s cars blocking the way in. He is in the middle of the cars! I can see

“It’s sort of like a jail cell, it’s connected to

the lab. It was our old lab place but it was burnt down and we have been fixing it. It has doors which are bullet proof, no one can freeze or heat the window or burn down this place”, said Rebecca. “Cool”, said Hillary and Josh. “Let’s throw him in”, said Rebecca. “It’s a big place”, said Josh.

I will and are we going to test you to see why you reacted when I was in hospital?” said Hillary. “Yes, thank you for reminding us. I’ll start testing on you now Josh, just hop on the bed and I will scan you”, said Tiffany. “Oh so it looks like we might have another superhero”, said Rebecca.

Hillary was about to leave when Rebecca stopped her in front of Neo, Josh and Tiffany. Rebecca said, “What the hell were you thinking about facing Gordon alone? You haven’t built your strength or your mind powers, you can’t think you can take him on that easy all ALONE!!”. Hillary said, “I thought I could, and I didn’t know he would have been a metahuman, I thought he was just a bad guy”. “Well, you were wrong, and enough of that stupid name ‘power human’, nothing comes easy. You have to work your butt for something”, said Rebecca. “It took me ages to develop all of this, but you just want everything whenever you want! DON’T YOU DARE DO THIS AGAIN!!!!” so Rebecca walked away, mad at Hillary. Neo said “It’s all right, we sent you out there face to face, she is just trying to look out for you”. “I’m going to try and keep her off my mind and not worry about her!”, said Hillary. “Are you sure you will be fine?”, asked Josh. “Yeah

“There is nothing wrong with that. The more superheroes the better”, said Josh. They all worked as a team to help take the bad guys down, for a few months there wasn’t so much drama: but they all had their ups and downs.
