Over $13000 was spent at this three hour event and I’m sure some fantas c early Christmas presents were purchased. Funds raised for this event were $690.

COME & JOIN YOUR P&F NEEDS IN 2018! Following on from the previous newsle er, we are reaching out to ALL parents, both new and exis ng to come along and join us in 2018! We would like to take this opportunity to con nue a spotlight on our current members as to the “WHY” they joined our Parents & Friends Commi ee, and hope that you can join us too in 2018. Please take the me to read our members views. Thank you for your me. Joanna Cou s (P&F Treasurer – Catherine Year 5, Mitchell Year 3) I joined when Catherine started Kindergarten in 2012 to meet other parents. I like to be involved and my children like to see me involved. It's my way of staying connected to the school as much as I can when I'm not at work. By showing our kids that helping out even a li le, where you can, makes a big difference to the end result (whether it's at a cake stall or a spring fair). I'm hoping to ins ll a sense of pride when they see an event that I may have helped with come together, and they now come along and help also. By se ng tables, pu ng up stalls or even folding napkins, it's all appreciated and makes a massive difference. It's great to see kids just pitching in because they want to. Ana Winnel (Peter ‐ Year 4, Be na ‐Year 2) I joined the P&F in 2013 when my son started Kindergarten. I didn’t know any other parent and had no idea what a P&F was. I went to school overseas so absolutely everything was new to me. I felt that I needed to get involved and learn all about it. I was curious, and first of all loved the idea of helping the school community. Mee ng the other parents was vital for me. New friends have been made across different years within the school, and so many exci ng events to be a part of. We feel very proud at the end of each fundraising event ‐ it’s a lot of work but very rewarding! Vivian Zorbas (Victor Year 1, Filia – to start in Kindergarten 2018) I joined the P&F in February 2016 when my son started Kindergarten. I was friends with the President Erenie and I knew what a wonderful job she had been doing in the commi ee, and I simply wanted to help out. I also thought it would be nice to meet other parents and their children as I was a new parent in the school. I have made some wonderful friends that I know are going to be friends of mine for a very long me. The school needs a lot of community support and it’s nice for my children to see that if we work together we can do so much to develop the school even further. It is a great feeling knowing we can achieve so much for all the children that go to St Spyridon. This is why the P&F commi ee work so hard to provide the school with their different needs from year to year. Melissa Takouridis (Angelo ‐ Year 1, Rosalie ‐ to start in Kindergarten 2018) I joined the P&F last year when my son started Kindergarten, as a way to be part of a team that makes the school a be er place for our kids. Being new to a school where I did not know any of the parents yet, I found it was a great way to meet others, and also get a feel for the school community. I've made some great friendships, and look forward to working with the P&F next year to bring fun events for our kids and families.

On a final note for 2017, we welcome you to jump on board with us in 2018! It’s one of the most rewarding things you can do, volunteer, and help our school community grow through our fundraising efforts for many years to come. The school is celebra ng its 35th Anniversary next year, so it’s a wonderful milestone to be a part of! Every dollar raised by the P&F from our generous parents, YOU, goes back into our school and ul mately our children benefit, and many genera ons to come. This is what a school community is all about. Our Annual General Mee ng will take place on Tuesday 20th February 2018, so pencil this date in! All welcome!!

ΚΑΛΑ ΧΡΙΣΤΟΥΓΕΝΝΑ ΚΑΙ ΧΑΡΟΥΜΕΝΕΣ ΓΙΟΡΤΕΣ to each and every one of you from all of us!
