Peace or disaster? EDITOR’S COmmEnT: In my opinion, I think that the people at the conference of Munich, especially the representatives of Britain and France, should have never trusted Hitler. He already proved to other countries that he could act as a mad men. The evidence of this is that he just broke the rules of The Versailles Treaty by invading The Rhineland and Austria. So I think that the people at the conference made a big mistake by giving Hitler Sudetenland, because of this he was able to take over whole Czechoslovakia, which he actually did! Another weak point in this conference is that they didn't invite the leaders of Czechoslovakia because it was land taken from them and given away to Germany. Luc Kamps, editor
HITlER’S nEw DEmanDS On 29 September 1938 the Munich Conference was called. Here Hitler met with representatives of the heads of state from France, the United Kingdom, and Italy. An agreement was reached that Hitler could annex the Sudetenland provided he promised not to invade anywhere else.
All four countries signed the agreement: Adolf Hitler (Germany),
Neville
Chamberlain
(UK),
Daladier (France), and Benito Mussolini (Italy).
