Boys'and Girls' State

When outstanding Juniors throughout the state go to Boys' and Girls' State, they run a mockgovernmenl. This program gives practical knowledge, experience in politics and opportunity. The objective is to educate our class leaders in responsibilities, citizenship, and privileges. This year's representatives were Ona Carson, Leanne Hennessey, Hans Jonassen, and Jim Hamlin. Alternates were Michael Harold, Baltzer LeJeune, Ann Fischer and Missy Nicholadis.

National Merit SemiFinalists

Only 15,000 students throughout the United States are selected for this honor. They are selected by the previous year's PSAT scores. They will receive finalist standing if their SAT scores and grades are above average, and they are recommended by the school.
