Swimming at Saint Martin's
Our girls were again undefeated in the N.O. Area High School League. They won all six dual meets and the League title as well as the Newman Invitational Meet, the City Relays and the City Championship. They placed second in the State Meet by a narrow margin of 206 to 200.
Our boys won five out of the six dual meets in our League, placed second in the Newman Invitational, Sth in the City Championship and 5th in the State Meet.
The total scores combined for boys and girls made STM undefeated for the fourth straight year. Although no award was given for total score, STM scored highest in all other meets as well.
Sophomore Todd Robinson who set several all time records for southern U.S. swimming and also placed in the Jr. National Championships won both the Most Valuable and Most Improved. Thea Casseri won the Most Valuable award for girls and sixth grader Raynal Ruch won Most Improved.
1983 Middle School Swimming
St. Martin's particiPated in a swimming league for Middle Schools in the fall. We won all of the dual meets and the League ChamPionship meet.
1983 Lower School Swimming
St. Martin's hosted an Invitational Meet for Lower Schools and easily proved that we have the most promising young swimmers, as the Saints won most of the awards.
