Girls Varsity Track
The 1983 Girls Track Team completed a highly successful season. Despite losing the district championship to a very strong McMain team, the Saints won their own invitational track meet and were runner-ups in the Newman invitational meet.
Representing STM this season in State competition were Andra Rodriguez who finished third in the high jump and the mile relay team of Rodriguez, Steinbaugh, Williams, and Manning. They finished 7th in the state, 2nd in regionals and 2nd in the district meet.
Third place in regionals for the 800 meters, 1600 meters and 200 meters went to Williams, Crosby and Manning.
In the District meet, Debra Crosby retained her crown as Mile champion and Mary K. Williams finished 2nd in the 800 meter.
MVP and high point winner was Bess Manning. MIP went to Mary K. Williams who can do it all.
Coaches Vogt, Panna and McGeehan are very optimistic for the next season.
