St. Martin's Football 1982
"The Best Is Yet to Come"
Despite a losing record for the season, this year's team was a success in many ways. Individual honors were received by a few well deserved athletes and eyes were opened by many that the Saints were down but not out. The 1982 football team never gave up and always worked hard. The team's determination paid off as they defeated Pope John Paul and Ridgewood Prep on Cox Cable
T.V. this past season.
Some of the honors were won by John Burlingame (District leader in Kickoff returns, Honorable Mention "All District" at safety), Mark McGinnis (2nd in District at punting), George Di Liberto (second team "All District" at defensive tackle, Honorable Mention "All East Bank"), Hans Luetkemeier (1st team "All East Bank" Place Kicker, 2nd team

The coaches were extremely proud of this group of young men and wish the twelve departing seniors a great deal of success in their future.
