The Old West in winter and a ferocious blizzard forces seven men and one woman to seek shelter in a log cabin. But for each one of these “hateful eight” just surviving their stop-over takes strength, ingenuity and a good deal of violence. Tarantino’s unique and fascinating cinema is definitely back with a bang.

Ballerinas might wear tutus and look beautiful and refined but this behind-the-scenes peek at the Bolshoi Ballet when, in 2013, its director had acid thrown in his face, is a fascinating portrait of a rarely seen world.

NORM OF THE NORTH (PG)

Dir: Zak Hilditch Australia 2013 1hr 27mins With: Nathan Phillips, Angourie Rice

Dir: Trevor Wall USA/India 2016 1hr 26mins Voiced by: Bill Nighy, Rob Schneider, Heather Graham

It’s the end of the world, literally, and the citizens of Western Australia have around seven hours left to despair or party hard. Yet one guy finds himself on a mission to find love amid the chaos. An exceptionally compelling film.

Welcome to Norm, a big-hearted polar bear who is forced to leave his snowy home with three lemming friends and winds up in New York City. Cartoon family entertainment with an ecological theme.

CINEMA REFURBISHMENT!

It’s many years now since our theatre seating was installed so we thought it was about time we had a reburbishment. Work will start on 13 August and we hope to have everything finished in September. This means our film programme will be taking a short break over the summer. However we have treats galore planned so watch this space for events and activities during the summer holidays to keep you entertained.
