Sourcing Candidates
Passive Candidates vs. Active Candidates
Passive candidates are not actively seeking a new job. You can use various search criteria on LinkedIn to find passive candidates and send them a message to gauge interest.
LinkedIn is an excellent tool; but the best way to passively source candidates for stores is through face-to-face networking!
Active candidates are searching for a job and planning to make a move from their current employer. You will find active candidates by reviewing their resume via the job post/req on LinkedIn or Workday.
Talent Pool vs. Talent Pipeline
A Talent Pool is a broader group of candidates that have not been fully vetted to enter the pipeline. LinkedIn will give you a Talent Pool of candidates to review. This includes applicants, results from your search filters & personalized recommendations.
A Talent Pipeline consists of candidates who have already been deemed qualified for a particular position. When you save a candidate to a Project in LinkedIn, they will be added to your Pipeline. You should initiate contact with anyone added to your Talent Pipeline.
✦ To view new applicants, click Jobs, then click View all Jobs.
✦ Scroll to find your Job on the list.
✦ If there are new applicants, click the bolded & blue words to view.
✦ You can also click the job title to view the Talent Pool & Pipeline.
When you enter the Job/Project, you’ll have access to view:
○ Overview - recent activity, Inmail, candidate stats, # of applicants, demographics, etc.
○ Talent Pool - all applicants & recommended matches
○ Pipeline - all saved & archived candidates
○ Job Post - job description & the job performance (applicants vs. views)
✦ You can save multiple candidates to the Pipeline at once by checkmarking boxes next to their names & clicking Save to Pipeline
✦ You can save individual candidates to the Pipeline by clicking Save to Pipeline next to their name.
✦ After saving a candidate to the Pipeline, click the ✉ icon next to their name to send an individual message OR checkmark the box next to several candidates’ names to send multiple messages at once.
✦ LinkedIN AI will generate a message for you; but we typically write our own and save it as a template for future use.
✦ Used to insert a variable (first name, job title, location, etc.) when using a saved template to message candidates
✦ Used to attach a document to your message
✦ Used to add your availability link so that candidates can schedule an interview with you
