MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO ATTENDING MORE TRACK EVENTS.
I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.
I purchased this 2023 Fighter Jet Gray Mach 1 from Bethlehem Ford in February 2023. We loaded it in the trailer out of the showroom and brought it straight to the shop.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!
We purchased the car with the intention of making it a track car. With the help of Matt from Steeda, we purchased the Steeda dual ride ultimate handling lowering springs, bumpsteer kit, adjustable front and rear sway bars, the Steeda “Stop the Hop” street ultimate kit, and Ford Performance PP2 wheels. Since the car was not an HP car we also added the Ford Performance rear spoiler with the gurney flap, Steeda camber plates, and the front lower splitter. We also changed out the coolant overflow tank and added an oil separator. In the interior, we swapped out the factory steering wheel and shifter for a carbon fiber Accelatec wheel and a Ford Performance carbon fiber shift nob. I have to thank Mike Precourt for all his hard work on the Mach 1.
With only 360 miles we took the Mach 1 to the 2023 Ford Nationals at Carlisle and we participated in the Street Shootout. The car handled great and we managed to make it to the second round. It was my first autocross in a number of years. We took the car in July to the SCCA Track Night in America at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. This time we swapped tires to the Cup 2s. The car handled and performed well. We were one of the fastest cars in our group.
The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!
We are looking forward to attending more track events. I have to thank my wife Angel Reinbold and Mike Precourt for all their help.
Members of the STANG Mag family are more passionate about fun and inclusion than they are their cars and that says a lot! I can’t wait to see what’s to come in 2022!
