THE SHOW GOES ON!

Portocolom is becoming for the second year the scenario of the early start of the summer for the European triathlon. The second edition comes after the huge success of 2011 which brought to Mallorca some of the best pro triathletes in the world and was highly appreciated by the participants. The TriStar55.5 and TriStar111 races will be accompanied by new alternative activities (StarKids, ascent to Sant Salvador) and the top ranked TriStar111 finishers will share a 10,000â‚Ź PRO cash purse. This great success was undoubtedly brought about by the authentic beauty of the region, the demanding course with a double ascent to Sant Salvador, the tranquil charm of the seaside resort of Portocolom in Felanitx and the position in the international triathlon calendar.

TriStar Mallorca is synonymous for fun and quality. Another pillar of TriStar is social responsibility, therefor the event supports ASPANOB. This institution is one hundred percent local, and helps parents of children suffering from cancer of the Balearic Islands. uTriStar is an international triathlon event series held over various new distances. It was launched in September 2009 with TriStar200 Andalucía in Spain and has rapidly grown ever since. uSeveral innovative formats recognized by the ITU offer a perfect complementary solution between Olympic and long-distance triathlons. uTriStar is based on fun, environmental protection and social responsibility. uBeginners are pleased by the possibility to join Relay teams; professionals can use TriStar as a preparation for long-distance races. uShorter swim and run distances enable shortened recovery times, giving athletes the possibility to participate in more races than before.

æ

uGiving the possibility to race in teams of five brings the team spirit back to a sport that was for a long time perceived as individual.
