In order to make a difference, TriStar111 Monaco partners up with Peace and Sport! Peace and Sport puts sport and its values at the heart of local development projects undertaken for communities in crisis around the world. During the weekend of sport in Monaco, the Peace and Sport association and Star Events pool their strengths to collect sports equipment that will be sent in a vulnerable country where Peace and Sport helps every day. Bicycles, shoes, balls, rackets, watches, sportswear... participants and spectators from TriStar111 Monaco are invited to donate their used sports equipment for young athletes in these countries.

Come to the TriStar booth in order to deposit your donation in the Peace and Sport container!

Joel Bouzou, President and Founder of Peace and Sport, said: “In countries where we work, sport is more than just physical activity. It provides thousands of young people left to themselves to find a purpose in life, markers, self-confidence and in others. These are prerequisites to encourage the social integration of young people. But to carry out this mission, we need sports equipment in good condition! I’m sure, thanks to the generosity of the participants of the Triathlon, we can strengthen our efforts there. Thank you in advance to all donors and Star Events that allows us to conduct this solidary operation at the prestigious Triathlon TriStar111 Monaco. “

Wilson Kipketer

«Triathlon, a sustainable sport» Environmental Program

As an athlete, you have to take care about your body. As a triathlete, you enjoy swimming through clear waters, cycling through lush landscapes, and running while breathing fresh air. That’s why all Star Events commit to environmental protection in partnership with the 4VITA association. Take care about Nature as much as you care about your body. You want to enjoy it a lifetime!

4VITA is the environmental program encompassing both ecological and health actions present at every Star Events race.

How 4VITA is present at TriStar111 Monaco Focus on Ecology

• In cooperation with SMA, 4vita makes sure that all the waste produced in connection with the race is well separated so that it can be later recycled • Reduction of waste. This year, plastic water bottles have been removed on all energy stations and have been replaced by municipal drinking/fresh water. • All athletes are aware of the necessity to respect the Eco-zones and dispose of their trash only at the designated EcoZones. • 4VITA supports the association Bouchons d’Amour which helps with waste separation and collects bottle caps, generating money to support disabled sportsmen

4VTA booth at the Star&CO Village

• Information on public transport, schedules and plans of buses in Monaco (CAM) and train schedules (SNCF) available • Information on the EkoRoad, the carpooling scheme of Star Events • Information on waste separation and availability of collection bags • Eco-workshops for kids – Kids’ corner with games and contests focused on ecology

TriStar, the revolutionary World Series

TriStar is an international triathlon event series held over various new distances. It was launched in September 2009 with TriStar200 Andalucía in Spain and has rapidly grown ever since. While there were four races in 2010, their number increased to ten in 2011 and the future will see its further rise. A simple motto “Yes, you can!” sums up the idea of sport events that are easily accessible for everyone with the desire to participate. Several innovative formats recognized by the ITU offer a perfect complementary solution between Olympic and long-distance triathlons.

Fun, environmental protection and social responsibility are the three main aspects of all TriStar races. TriStar takes the world‘s most popular sports disciples – swimming, cycling and running – to serve them in the most fun and enjoyable way. New formats attracting amateurs widen the scope of people interested in participation, which makes us witness rookies standing side by side with top triathletes. Beginners are pleased by the possibility to join relay teams where they can focus on one of the three disciplines; professionals can use TriStar as a preparation for long-distance races.

Shorter swim and run distances enable shortened recovery times, giving athletes the possibility to participate in more races than before. More TriStar, more fun! TriStar already unveiled a handful of fresh, fun-oriented new features and there is much more to come. Legalizing drafting on some of the races makes them more thrilling than ever. Giving the possibility to race in teams of five brings the team spirit back to a sport that was for a long time perceived as individual. TriStar comes to break down the old-fashioned triathlon mindset and make everyone enjoy their race in a new, exciting way. www.star-events.cc

Every endurance athlete knows: anything that gets in the way has to go. After all, the lighter we are, the farther our fuel takes us. Zoot pushes this belief to its logical limit by stripping shoes of everything and anything that isn’t needed. Lighter. Cleaner. Faster. Better.

Pole Position ! Ready... steady... go!

SWIM 1km The swim start will take place at 8:00

on the Larvotto Beach in Monaco for a 1km loop. It is a mass start from the beach (PROs ahead). The water temperature is usually between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius on race day. Wetsuits are allowed if the temperature is below 24°C. The final decision will be made on race day morning by the marshals.

BIKE 100km The bike course begins at the Larvotto area - you ride 2 km in the Principality of Monaco in the direction of Roquebrune Cap-Martin, then to the hinterland. During the 100km, you will discover gorgeous and picturesque villages.

RUN 10km The run will take you on 2 loops of

5km through Monaco, including the famous Tunnel known from Formula 1, the harbor, the gardens of the Casino and the hairpin bends… The entire run course is open to supporters! You’ll love it!

T1 swim/bike After the swim, you will pick up your

bike bag and change in the transition tent – both directly on the beach at the swim exit. Then run up to Avenue Princesse Grace, where you will pick up your bike and leave the bike park heading East.

T2 bike/run Once you rack your bike you will pick

up your RUN bag in the transition area. DROP OFF your bag after having changed and leave the transition area via the ramp to start the last challenge: the run.

Finish Line After 2 loops, you will reach the

Finishline located right under the terraces of the famous Café de Paris. Friends, family and sport loving spectators will welcome you and cheer you on while you cross the Finishline! Time to enjoy and proudly wear your Finisher medal!

Relaxing Zone Grab your Finisher T-shirt, have drinks

and food, get a massage, chill-out with your fellow competitors in the afterfinish area. Only athletes allowed in here, no friends or family. You finished the inaugural TriStar111 Monaco! Congratulations as you have proven: Yes, you can !

Male teams, female teams, mixed teams - no matter how you compete, it will be three times the fun - 300% guaranteed!

The Swimmer has to cover the same distance as individual athletes. This means he will run through the changing tent (without changing, of course!) before running up the ramp to the Relay Zone. Relay members have to cross each timing mat in order to be ranked just like the individual competitors.

Teams of two or three competitors will participate in the Team Relay Challenge at TriStar111 Monaco! The Teams will do the exact same course as individual competitors. Here is the relevant information for Relay competitors Start of the race is 8:15, 15min after the individuals (you are allowed to make up time!) The timing chip is the relay baton which has to be passed on from one team member to the next in the dedicated RELAY ZONE between the bike park and the transition area. Locals call this place “La Rose de Vents”.

Relay competitors are encouraged to finish the race as a TEAM. Team members that do not RUN the 10km can wait for their runner in a dedicated RELAY MEETING AREA at the beginning of the finish line to join their runner for the finish photo, the hugs, smiles and the instant party right after the finish line! Temps Limites : Swim : 45 min (9:00) Swim + Bike : 5h15 (13:30) Swim + Bike + Run : 7h15 (15:30)
