FINES AND FEES

SCDL does not charge to check out library materials or assess fines for overdue SCDL–owned items. Due date receipts are available at every checkout.

Please return or renew items by the due date. Fees will be charged for unreturned, lost, damaged, or missing materials.

Items borrowed through but not owned

by SCDL will accrue fines according to the policies of the library which owns the materials, such as SearchOhio, OhioLINK, Louisville Public Library, and Massillon Public Library. Patrons may not check out or renew items if card balance exceeds $25.00.

Customers who have a fee balance of $25 or more may be sent to the library’s collection agency.

Account balances may be paid online or in person. All SCDL locations accept cash, personal checks and major credit cards. Restrictions may apply.

FOL purchased a doghouse-style playhouse for the Main Library Children's Services area. A great space for reading and fun!

BOOK SALE DATES SATURDAYS: 10 AM to 4 PM

September 6 October 4 BAG DAY November 1 December 6 10% discount for members of the Friends of the Library. Book sales are located across the parking lot in the garage and inside the Main Library.

All proceeds benefit the Stark County District Library. Bag Day Sale is only in the garage at the north end of the Main Library parking lot.

Our 2014 Scholarship committee has awarded grants to four SCDL employees pursuing a Master of Library and Information Science degree at Kent State University. Each award is to cover the cost of tuition plus required course materials for three credit hours. The scholarships are made possible

by Life Memberships in FOL and by donations to the Scholarship Fund. The interest from this fund is used for the scholarships. Our 2014 recipients are left to right: Dani Gustavich, Patti Rante, Ann Pukansky and Tony Vickers.
