Minimum Requirements:
· Be in possession of a valid Senior Certificate (Grade 12) (Certified copy to be attached) · Valid driver’s license - at least a Code B (manual transmission) (cards not expired) (Certified copy to be attached) · Have no criminal record or illicit activity recorded · Have not been declared incompetent to possess a firearm in terms of Sect 102 of the Firearms Control Act 60/2000 · Be Proficient in English · Be healthy, physically fit and of a stable mental condition (provide an original medical certificate as proof, stating medical fitness to undergo physical training and mental fitness state) · Be between the ages of 18 - 35 years · Be a South African Citizen, residing in the municipal area of the City of Ekurhuleni (attach proof of residence/affidavit to confirm address)

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality have established a bursary programme for its residents who intend on taking up tertiary education studies. STAROOT JOURNAL INTERNSHIPS/LEARNERSHIPS Friends of Design Bursaries South Africa 2017 – 2018 ABOUT THE BURSARY Friends of Design are offering bursaries to the value of R69 980 (which also covers transport to and from the academy in Cape Town CBD). The bursary will cover 3 courses of study: Web Publishing and Interactive Media (1 year certificate) This programme is a full-time, practical and has a fixed curriculum that focuses on web publishing, visual effects, video production and 2D animation. Students who complete this certificate will leave with technical skills in JavaScript, jQuery, CSS3, HTML and much more. Game Graphics and Multimedia Entertainment (1 year certificate) This is a full time course is aimed at gaming enthusiasts and interactive media interested students who wish to pursue a career in this field. Students who complete this certificate will be able to explore game technology for educational purposes, as well as for entertainment, mobile and web purposes. Print Design and Publishing This full time programme is aimed at equipping students with a thorough understanding of graphic design and visual aesthetics. Students will learn to design adverts, brochures, logos, book covers and so much more. They will also be taught how to apply fundamental design elements and principals, necessary for creative professionals. Courses will commence in February 2017. STAROOT JOURNAL INTERNSHIPS/LEARNERSHIPS SAPS/ Tracker Bursary South Africa 2016 – 2017 ABOUT THE BURSARY The South African Police Service (SAPS)/ T racker Bursary Scheme was initiated in 2004, to provide tertiary funding for students of police officers who passed away in the line of duty. Each year, the SAPS/ T racker Bursary help several students achieve their dreams, all in the name of brave policemen and policewomen who put their lives on the line to protect their country. ABOUT THE BURSARY Bursaries will be awarded to students who are the children of police officers killed in the line of duty. These students must be studying towards an ICT (Information and Communications Technology) qualification. The bursary award will cover the full cost of tuition fees – all other study related expenses will be for the students own account. ELIGIBILITY Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying: South African citizen, Matric /tertiary students who is the child of a police officer killed in the line of duty, Studying (or intend on studying) towards an ICT qualification.
