STAROOT JOURNAL CONTRIBUTOR ARTICLES The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teenagers. - By: Karabo Dynamite Nyalunga oing Unplugged and In charge Sean Covey says in his book; The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teenagers that absolutely no man is stopping you from achieving great, only you and your attitude because you keep thanking the way you think.

G

Gone should be the days where we look up to the government to make things happen for us, days where the township is associated with crime and mediocrity. And that can only be achieved if me and you start changing how we think. Your craft you might be a singer, actor, speaker, entrepreneur or even a CEO but what is it that separates you from all the other people in your field? What makes a “Thee” and what separates you from the rest? It’s the little things that set you apart from the ordinary, the little Extra. The manner you present yourself to your audience, your target market. The manner you deliver your craft and reach out to people. Most of all, how passionate you are and what you do to keep it relevant -constantly improving it. If we do not take our crafts seriously, no one else will! If we only rehearse and prepare the presentation when there’s an upcoming event, we’ll keep producing well but if we could learn to do that even when there’s nothing coming up, we will then elevate to producing BEST. If you feel like jumping around while performing, cracking jokes and moving around the audience let it be. It’s your craft! If you do not enjoy it, who will? A great example of this kind of performer is a young man called Weza Matomane. He has not let the craft change who he is but has let the craft perfectly blend in with who he has chosen to be. We wouldn’t have so many political parties if each of them didn’t believe that they have unique qualities that make them differ from all the others. What’s your signature? Your company A powerful young man by the name Fred Bohasu came to speak at my school Two years ago and had a powerful message; Skeema Di Bosso ( surround yourself we with people with the same mission as you). We are our company, what our friends get up to in our absence will somehow affect how others see us. Would you trust your friend enough to replace you if you can’t make it to an important meeting? Or do you feel there are some things that need to be polished first? It is said that show me your friends and I will tell you your future, that we attract what we give out. If you lack inspiration and can’t find it in your friends, change your company. Of course you cannot please everyone, which is why I advise you to take a look at what I had on TV by Africa’s Golden girl; Russia Today news anchor Tumelo Mothothoane, she says we all should have Three groups of people in our lives our Comrades - those we chase our dreams with. Our Company - those who influence us and the decisions we make, and our Constitution - those we strive to make proud. Anyone else either than those, doesn’t matter. - Staroot Journal Crew

The purpose of internships is to obtain workplace skills and professionalism (Business Etiquette) and to put into practice the theory they have been taught. The majority of interns are placed in the department that correlates with their qualification. It is important to note that interns may be utilised in departments where their qualifications are not expressly needed, this is done to give them an understanding of the business and should be kept at a minimum. We aim to have clearly defined roles for interns to ensure that the theoretical understanding gained whilst studying is tested and enhanced through practical application.
