Alma – Gratiot County Toys for Tots Gratiot County Toys for Tots collects new unwrapped toys and distributes them to less fortunate children at Christmas. Through the gift of a new toy, they help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to Gratiot County’s less fortunate children. In 2021 they provided toys for 1,000 children. Breckenridge – Breckenridge Wheeler Area Historical Society The Breckenridge Wheeler Area Historical Society preserves the history and culture of their two namesake communities. The Historical Society operates the Plank Road Museum as well as the Drake House, which is filled with generations of items donated by Margaret Drake Elliot. Ithaca – Day Dreams Inc Day Dreams Inc is a local Non-Profit organization whose goal is to assure the physical and social needs of people with developmental and other disabilities within the community are addressed and to provide a choice of directed activities available daily to enhance participants sense of belonging and support an active, healthy and purposeful lifestyle. Day Dreams, Inc. operates the Dream Works Resale Shoppe in downtown Ithaca. All proceeds from the store go to support the activities and initiatives of the organization. daydreamsnonprofit.com

St. Louis – Gratiot County Hope House Gratiot County Hope House is a seasonal cold-weather homeless shelter. Founded in 2018, their mission is to meet the temporary housing needs of Gratiot County with compassion, grace, and hope. Hope House is a safe place where those who find themselves in need housing can find refuge and solace as they work to navigate their situation. Hope House operates with volunteers from the community who come to the shelter site to act as hosts. Churches, businesses, clubs, service groups, individuals, or groups of individuals can serve as hosts. Hosts commit to serving the guests of GCHH in a variety of ways including, providing a hot evening meal, serving as overnight staff, and simply being a hospitable presence. gchopehouse.org
