Glastonbury festival 100 years anniversary is coming up and they have joined forces with Brothers cider to create an identity for the new Brothers limited edition bottle, this will celebrate the anniversary of the Festival. Brothers Cider was one of the first brewed and purchased alcoholic drinks at the festival. Solution The design incorporates all the emotions, feelings, objects and memories of the festival from the festivalgoers. This will create a more personal design that the audience will understand and connect with.

Research into Glastonbury has allowed me to understand festivals and exactly what goes on in a festival enviroment. While this has helped influence my direction the research into products and drinks served at Glastonbury has helped influence the style and direction that should be taken. The design styles common with festivals are very strong and bold; I hope to take this into my own design work.
Concept/Ideas

Producing a range of brainstorms and concept ideas has helped me set a direction for this project. While many of the briefs were along the lines of ones already produced, I hoped to achieve a unique concept and idea by merging ideas together to produce an effective design piece that shall help make the 100 years of Glastonbury standout.

The concept has allowed my ideas to be developed, the concept aims to produce a design that shows what activities people do at the festival this is represented with the icons in the images. While these icons have been really interesting and creative, this together with a creative hand drawn effect shall make it standout as much as possible. The use of bright colours shall make the design standout as much as possible.

Process

I have aimed to experiment with a range of different process to make a label and bottle design that can look and feel limited edition. This has been achieve with the use of foil blocking. While foil blocking can be effective it has also produce a quality that makes the design look like it has been produced to represent 100 years. The use of the gold also represents 100 years and shall help make the design standout further. The methods of printing used are digital, foil block and screen printing.

These are my final label designs that have been produced for the Brother cider bottles, they incorporate a creative concept that aims to show why people go to Glastonbury and what make them think of the 100 years of the festival. The design has been placed upon a few promotional products to show the design can be placed upon many different items.

Within these images you can see the main items taken from the label, this allows for a easier view of the detail that was put into the label. The use of the icons were hand drawn and produced from sketches this together with a colour range picked to fit the 100 years colour scheme.
