50 years of Pantone
Self Initiated
Brief 2
Pantone Challenge Produce a set of 5 posters, which communicates and celebrates Pantone's, 50 years in colour. This should be presented as a limited edition range that will be sent out to loyal clients and also be sold on their website. Solution The posters shows the landmark moments throughout the 5 decades that Pantone have been around, the Pantone colours will then be placed upon the iconic images. Pantone colour is all about memories, emotions and feelings, so this was the best way to communicate these aspects of colour. The hand drawn type adds personality and the feeling of a one off print.

Research
50 years of Pantone
P01
Research into 50 years of Pantone, has allowed me to find out what is common across many 50 year promotions, while the use of gold is very effective and common the use of bright colours works well. I hope that I can demonstrate the bold colours in Pantone upon the clean crisp paper, this would allow the designs to standout as much as possible.
Concept
50 years of Pantone
P02
I have produced a range of diagrams to help show how my initial concepts were produced, while these concepts are very similar I have refined them to helped produce an effective concept that can be demonstrated across a range of different mediums as well as the final requirement of a poster design. This way of producing a concept is very effective and a way that I hope to carry on after university.
Development
50 years of Pantone
P03
Development of the brand, logo and designs have been important, the use of the half tone effect has allowed the images to be screen printed more effectively and have more of an impact. While the design is very simple to produce it has allowed the process to shine through and make the final pieces look as interesting as possible.
Process
50 years of Pantone
P04
A range of process have been used within this project such as screen printing, foiling and vinyl cutting this has allowed me to produce a range of effective pieces of designs that standout against many others. The vinyl was used as a supplement to the foil blocking method that would have caused issues on this sized poster designs.
Finals
50 years of Pantone
P05
This is one of my final poster designs that shall make use of vinyl printing, screen-printing. These methods of printing have allowed a simple design to standout and look as interesting as possible. Through the use of bright colours and simplistic design.
