Research

Four Seasons

P01

I have developed a range of research into the four seasons, this has allowed and influence my design direction with the use of colours, patterns styles and common elements seen within them. The research is really useful as it has helped me make a design that really represents the seasons effectively.

Development

Four Seasons

P02

Development of the individual items that would make up the patterns within the four seasons brief has been important as the items had to be unique but representative of objects associated with the four seasons and also makes sure they are recognisable by the public. The use of this together with the pattern , caused problems as they need to match and go together.

Process

Four Seasons

P03

Printing of this brief took the form of screen printing, this is a method I have used many times however it caused many issues as the board would be setup correctly. The designs have been placed upon dark recycled paper this allows the colours and style to standout and make as much impact as possible. If I was to do this again I would try limit all the colours to three.

Finals

Four Seasons

P04

These are the final designs produced, they represent the pattern as a whole also the individual items that could be placed within the designs. The designs make use of the four seasons and the looks best associated with them. This is effective as the colours are recognisable with the patterns and shapes/ wildlife.

Finals

Four Seasons

P05

This is a secondary design produced for the four seasons brief, the pattern has been produced in a none tiled effect making it unique and creative, while the design looks different it can not be replicated into a large pattern this causes issues for making promotional patterns with a large surface area.

Finals

Four Seasons

P06

These are all the final designs produced for Four seasons, they have been produced to represents the seasons with the year, while only two has been produced this show how the brief could be expanded further to show the constancy between the concept and idea. The use of the styles could help influence promotional items printed through the year and what design would be placed upon them.

Finals

Four Seasons

P07

Another final versions of the summer season with the Four Seasons brief, the use of colours has allow the design standout and looking as interesting as possible. The use of these colours has allowed me to produce a creative interesting design.

The creatures and illustrations have been hand drawn to look as creative and authentic as possible.

Printed finals

Four Seasons

P09

These are a range of final prints that have been produced for the four seasons brief. The designs have been screen-printed to produce creative and interesting design that standout. The method of screen-printing the design has worked allow for the design to look as effective as possible upon the textured paper.

Printed finals

Four Seasons

P10

The use of the colours on the design creates a contrast between the lighter and darker colours, this is effective at making a design that has impact and standout. The use of a screen-printing method works well as it keeps the texture of the paper within it making it look creative and natural.
