Brief 12

Dialogue Challenge Dialogue is a non-profit print exhibition held in the Corn Exchange. The challenge is to produce a one off print that communicates the theme ‘Dialogue’, this can reflect past conversations, forms of Interaction or spread further afield to communication today. The prints will be manipulated through the use of print and match making processes.

Solution The print is based on today’s vast form of communication through digital devises and portable communication techniques. The iPad is something that has become a popular item for most people in society, this has formed many abilities for dialogue to take place, one of the most popular form of communication being, Facetime. A visual and interactive, form of communication within the 21st century.

I have research into a range of different ways dialogue can be represented, the use of the research has helped influence my design direction also how the concept of the brief can be produced to create an effective and interesting design quickly and effectively.

I have developed a range of concept and ideas that can used to represent dialogue, the ideas are very simple but help explain dialogue quickly. As these shall be merged with other peoples design they must be simple and effective.

Development of this brief has been undertaken with the use of illustration and colour, to make the design as effective as possible. I have added shading and half tone effects to make it look effective, this together with the colour shall help create piece of work that standout and work well with other designs.

This is my final design for dialogue; the use of colour and halftone has allowed my design to be really simple and creative. The use of the items together to help explain the concept, the colour helps support this. The design has been merged with another designers to create a more interesting piece of design that is truly unique.

My work was showcased at the dialogue exhibition, the work was comined with another designers to create a peice of work that was unique and collaborative. I believe this was successful however more focus could have been placed upon the colours as the colours used within my design and the second design were very simlar maknig the design come across one colour tone.
