Moonster Milk
Self Initiated
Brief 1
Moonster Milk Challenge Produce a brand of milk that would target young children, at the same time encouraging parents to buy the milk for their children. Create a brand and packaging design that will encourage children to drinking milk, the product will stand out against other milk brands. Solution The brand communicates children's personalities, appealing through the use of bright, bold colours and illustrations. The concept behind the bottle format was to create a unique style that demands shelf presence, whilst the character design communicates ‘little monsters’ and the health benefits of the milk in a fun and playful manner.

Research
Moonster Milk
P01
Looking at existing milk brands and packaging has been important for the project. Knowing what is already out there and how brands are communicating to children and parents through packaging is helpful to understand what is needed and expected to communicate effectively to the target audience. To stand off the shelf the packaging needed to be unique and innovative, looking at unique, creative packaging formats allowed me to generate ideas and thoughts for the milk bottles. Investigating the audience was helpful as this helped me think of visual and conceptual ideas to attract the audience to the new product.

Development
Moonster Milk
P03
Developing the visual concepts for the overall design has allowed me to generate something that looks visually pleasing on the bottle. The brand needed to express a child-like personality with the playful attitude needed to create an emotional connection with the audience. I went through many visual stylest o get to the final design, this allowed me to perfect and refine the design. The monster characters needed to visually communicate the personality of the brand. The process of developing the characters and making sure they was consistent was a lengthy process but worth it in the end.

3D Printed Bottle
Moonster Milk
P06
3D printing is not a method I have used before, gaining the experience of producing a items that has been then produced on a printing method that is brand new is very exciting. This process has allowed me to produce a bottle design that would be unique to the Moonster drink, also allow me to produce more realistic and unique mockups of the brand and label upon the product.
Brand identity
Moonster Milk
P07
The Moonsters brand identity has been produced to help create a visual that is reconised by children and adults alike. The use of the text within the logo is very quirky and simple, very child-like which is the main attraction for the brand. The logo allows the design to be memorable and not be too complex. The use of the supporting colour could be used within the packaging design to help influence the design of the bottle/ promotional items.
T-shirts
Moonster Milk
P08
The t-shirt design has been produced as children maybe more likely to wear the t-shirt, if they do they would create an advertisement that would allow the children to act as walking advertisement amongst the other children and their parents. It’s all about getting children excited about the brand and by doing this sharing the message of Moonster Milk.

Stories
A brand guideline is important as it allows for all the items produced by the brand to be represented the same and look the same. The use of the design and colour together effectively is important for any brand. The brand guideline I have produced indicates the colours, text and typography that has been used within the brand identity also any other items produced for the brand. The stories are displayed on the back of every bottle, this communicates a personality and will bring the characters to life.

with compliments
Moonster milk, was a interesting brief to produce pint products for as it consisted of many different print methods, while not all of these could be done I produce many of the items seen in the image. The large range of promotional materials shall help the brand standout further while stilling being consistent with its brand guidelines. I believe the use of colours could be developed further within the other designs to help improve this. www.moonstermilk.com

Brand guidlines
Moonster Milk
P12
I have produced a brand guideline for Moonster milk as I believe it is important for the owner of the brand to be able to make a design that is consistent with any other. While this was only produced as a brief it has allowed me to gain experience within produce brand guidelines and how they should be laid out, what terminology should be used also what imagery can be used to support the brand.
Business cards
Moonster Milk
P01
I have produced a range of business card to help promote the brand as i believe this would be successful at getting the brand out there, the designs have been printed using a screen printing method together with high quality papers. Business cards are not very common for small designs or brands however I believe this personal touch helps bring the design and brief further to life.
Stationary
Moonster Milk

The promotional items shall be used to help send relevant information or documents to consumers. While these may not be used very often, they are ideal for replying or contact the consumers regarding the product. As seen the brand identity is applied over a set of stationery to communicate the brand and promote the brands presence.
