Self Branding Challenge Produce a print-based and online design presence. This should include personal branding, samples of work and self-promotion material (business cards, letterheads, creative CV’s, stationary etc.). Solution The concept behind my personal branding is to communicate my personal and profession skill levels and personality. The colour used reflects being creative and motivated where the vector icons demonstrate my interest within the creative industry and the tools needed through my professional practice. My logo forms my initials to create a symbol that I can use across a range of documents and materials.

While undertaking a brief there are many things that influence the designer direction. Produce successful relevant research that highlights how the brand or design should be produced is important. I have gathered a range of brand identity’s that could help influence my design direction for the self-branding brief. While this is just a cross section of research ii hope to use some of these styles together to create a creative and modern brand identity

I have developed by branding using modern graphical tools such as illustrator and Photoshop. While these tools have not influenced the concept they have helped enhance the creative process, allowing the design to look as good as possible across a range of different mediums. The development stages has helped highlight what could and should be improved to make the concept fit correctly with the brief.

Production of the designs onto print based material has been done through a range of different methods, while these methods are not knew they produce a professional finish that shall help me to produce design that standout again many others. The process uses such as screen printing, embossing and foiling have been something I have wanted to develop further as having an understanding of this shall help me within industry.

My brand is important, as it shall allow me to make myself stand alone from other designers. The design has been produced using the colour orange, as it is very bright and draws attention to itself; this is effective for branding and promotional item. The use of my initials in the logo has been created in a more intersting symbol.

The business cards were produced to a high quality, matt laminated with a spot UV on the areas that were orange on the back and the orange sections on the logo. This really makes the cards stand out and feel more premium then other business cards commonly seen. I used the spot UV as I felt that every brief I undertake aims to stand out and get noticed, as I am also interested in packaging this is a main requirement. Also as a designer I want to be noticed and remembered by creative professionals, I felt that this was the best way of expressing this.

I have produced a range of promotional items that shall be used to help promote myself, these would be sent out to studio’s or clients that would like some work done by me. The whole design has been produced to standout and look as interesting as possible.

I have produced a range of items that can house my stationery, this is important as it shall hold a digital version of my portfolio. The use of these items shall help contain all of my branding and communicate to studio’s and designers more professionally.

My promotion pack shall be sent out to studios that I would like to work for, the promotion pack combines everything thatwill promote myself to professional individuals. The use of orange across all of items shall allow anybody looking at them to know which are mine and quickly find my CV and branding from a pile of other CV’s.

Having an online presence within any industry is important. Through the use of imagery and creative colour palettes a website can be used to show off a range of work that a company or person has produced. I have create this online portfolio as I believe it is important for a graphic designer to be present in the online environment with a creative website showcasing their best work.
