rina Nakiri (Nakiri Erina) is one of the heroines and a primary antagonistic rival to Sōma Yukihira in Shokugeki no Soma. Wielding the best palate in the world, “God’s Tongue” and a member of the illustrious Nakiri family, Erina stands above everyone in her class as the top prospect of the 92nd Tōtsuki Generation and is currently the 10th seat of the Elite Ten Council. Erina has pink eyes and long honey blonde hair that flows just above her lower back. Her bangs partially cross her cheeks and go down all the way to her neck. She has a large bust and is considered by most of the students in Tōtsuki to be extremely attractive. According to her fans and followers, this trait coincides with her status. As Sōma enters Tōtsuki grounds, he encounters a group of rich students preparing to take the entrance exams with him. He then meets Yoshiaki Nikaidō, one of the rich students, as he takes a seat with him. After Sōma reveals his humble background, Yoshiaki kicks Sōma off the bench. Halfway as he states Tōtsuki will only accept someone with high stardards, he gets attacked by Sōma. Yoshiaki’s bodyguards then attempt to stop the situation at hand. he Elite Ten is an illustrious group of students in Tōtsuki comprised of the ten best students in the entire academy. This organization is responsible for handling the academy’s internal evaluations, including judging the achievements based on the student presentations in the academy grounds as well as helping organize events including the Tōtsuki Autumn Election. Because of their status in the academy, they have certain freedoms when carrying out personal projects such as Erina Nakiri’s kitchen expansion project, which resulted in the demolition and disbanding of many Tōtsuki clubs with famed history. They are also given a large budget by Tōtsuki Culinary Academy for them to utilize in any conceivable reason as long as the purchases are related to cooking and food research. Their authority in the academy is second only to the director, Senzaemon Nakiri. That being said, even the lecturers have less authority than they do and must obey anything they say. However, their power in the Academy is much more powerful, enough so that they can formally request a new director of the campus if the majority of the council votes in favor and overrule the director’s wishes himself. Inside of the group itself, members are placed in a ranked order with the 1st seat being the best student in the entire academy. For many, the 1st seat is the highest honor possible in the academy and most successful chefs in the culinary world have been a 1st seat, including Gin Dōjima and Kojirō Shinomiya. ōma Yukihira (Yukihira Sōma) is the main protagonist of Shokugeki no Soma. He is the son of Jōichirō Yukihira, the proud owner of Restaurant Yukihira. He is a 92nd Tōtsuki Generation student and a resident of Polar Star Dormitory. Sōma is a young teenage boy with yellow eyes and a vertical scar on his left eyebrow. He has spiky dark-red hair with short bangs. Sōma is an energetic and optimistic boy who has the constant drive to improve his cooking.

lice Nakiri (Nakiri Arisu) is a 92nd Tōtsuki Generation student and Erina Nakiri’s cousin. Alice has short silver hair with a longer left bang that initially reaches the bottom of her chin. By the time of the Autumn Election Main Tournament, her left bang has lengthened, reaching the top of her collar. She also has fair skin and a large bust, like her cousin Erina. Her red eyes are styled a little differently from the other girl characters’, having much more pronounced irises.

egumi Tadokoro (Tadokoro Megumi) is a 92nd Tōtsuki Generation student, a Polar Star Dormitory resident, and one of the heroines in Shokugeki no Soma. Megumi has long dark blue hair with two braided pigtails and wears a flower hairpin on the right side of her hair. She has yellow colored eyes and a petite body figure. olar Star was once a shining gem of excellence in Tōtsuki Culinary Academy. Approximately twenty years before Sōma entered Tōtsuki Academy, Polar Star experienced a time known as the Golden Era. Due to the various exploits of the residents at the time, Polar Star became a powerhouse in the academy. Fumio stated that at one point, the entire Elite Ten Council was completely comprised of Polar Star residents. Two of the most notable residents during this era was the 69th Generation students, Gin Dōjima and Jōichirō Yukihira, whose legendary skills easily allowed them to win countless Shokugekis, allowing Polar Star to become financially self-sufficient. Fumio considers the last member of this era to be Jun Shiomi, a 74th Generation
student. After her departure, the dormitory slowly sank into obscurity to the point that most school officials could not recognize the name of the dormitory twenty years later. After nearly twenty years, a resident finally became a member of the Elite Ten, Satoshi Isshiki, a 91st generation student. Around this time, five notable students of the incoming 92nd Tōtsuki Generation entered the dormitory: Megumi Tadokoro, Yūki Yoshino, Ryōko Sakaki, Shun Ibusaki, and Zenji Marui. These five would make up the soonto-be legendary 92nd Generation, but there was one last student to enter the dormitory. In Chapter 139, the dormitory was ordered to be shut down by Azami Nakiri’s new Tōtsuki curriculum. However, Sōma’s victory

over Etsuya Eizan in a Shokugeki allowed the dormitory to remain. Polar Star is currently the only on-campus lodging at Tōtsuki Culinary Academy, which requires an extensive hike from the campus grounds. From the exterior, it is a rather run down western styled co-ed dormitory. It features three floors of lodging with approximately 50 rooms overall. In contrast with the exterior, the interior is well maintained and almost appears on level with most hotels. In the center of the first floor is a grand staircase that leads to the upper residency areas. During the time known as the Golden Era of Polar Star, the dormitory became financially self-sufficient due to the exploits of various notable residents including Gin Dōjima, Jōichirō Yukihira, Azami Nakiri, and Jun Shiomi.
