WELCOME TO OUR WHAT’S ON GUIDE Welcome to St George’s Hall, described as the finest neo-classical building in Europe and situated in the heart of Liverpool’s St Georges Quarter. The venue has stemmed from being a magnificent entertainment venue of its day featuring spectacular spaces, including The Great Hall and The Concert Room, to a go to destination for heritage and events.
GUIDED TOURS: Come along and join one of our enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guides on a unique tour of St George’s Hall. Highlights of a guided visit to the hall include: the Cells and Courtrooms, The Great Hall and The Concert Room. Tours can be tailored to meet specific groups requirements and are suitable for people of all ages. Join us in bringing history to life! A typical tour lasts approximately 1-1 ¼ hours. Between the 9 July and 16 October, St George’s Hall will form part of the Liverpool Biennial exhibition. The project will only be accessible to a limited number of ‘Golden Ticket’ holders. For more information about this exclusive project and to obtain a ‘Golden Ticket’, ask at the Oratory located next to the Anglican Cathedral.
The Royal British Legion in association with Mersey Wave Music present a concert “The Somme and Beyond” with guest opera star Kathryn Rudge, the “Voices of the Valley” Male Voice Choir and the Mersey Wave Choir. The concert will commemorate the centenary year of the Battle of the Somme and will take place in the beautiful setting of Liverpool’s St. George’s Hall Concert Room. Enola Gay Sun 7 Aug | 2.30pm & 7.30pm At 8.15, on August 6th 1945, Hiroshima suffered almost total devastation by the world’s first atomic bomb. The play, inspired by OMD’s song ‘Enola Gay’, tracks the crew of the Bomber which carried and dropped the bomb and Yoko Ota, a young Japanese woman, who had arrived in Hiroshima the evening before, having fled from the daily bombing of Tokyo. The play switches between the Enola Gay crew, plotting the progress of the mission and chatting about the war and Yoko, welcoming the safety of her new life. Tickets £12 (plus admin fee) Where? RIP Mr Shakespeare Thu 11 Aug | 7.30pm A company of clowns pay homage to the Bard but it soon becomes a comedy of errors! It is William’s last night on earth but his dreams soon turn into nightmares. RIP Mr Shakespeare is presented by Hand in Hand Theatre, a Wirral base, award winning company. Johnny Kennedy Sings Shakespeare Mon 22 Aug | 7.30pm Johnny Kennedy is one of the bestknown broadcasters in the North West and has won the Whitbread Radio Personality of the Year award three times for his programmes on Radio City. John also a trained operatic tenor having studied with Carl Penlington Williams at the Royal North College of Music. In ‘Johnny Kennedy Sings Shakespeare’ he sings songs from the plays and talks about the Bard in an engaging and amusing way. He has given this Shakespeare concert in various UK venues and it was particularly successful at Holy Trinity, Stratford-on -Avon, where Shakespeare is buried.

Hosted by fellow designer, and self-proclaimed Manuel fan, Wayne Hemingway MBE, An audience with Manuel Cuevas will give guests a unique insight into the life and career of this extraordinary talent.
