Put on your best neon outfits, wear your white Freshers challenge t-shirts and get ready to Glow as you join us for the official kick-off to Freshers 2014! Sunday 14th September Union Welcome – Meet the Sabbaticals! Join your sabbaticals in Studio and get to know the officers that will be running your Union this year – this is your chance to ask them about sports clubs, societies, volunteering, your course and so much more! 12noon onwards Studio Freshers Bags 2014 Everybody wants one! They are the must have item for Freshers Week 2014 – rammed with freebies, student discounts and even a handy Union Wallplanner, you’ll want to grab one before they’re all gone. There’s even a few extra surprise prizes in some of the bags – will you be a winner?! Pop along to the Union welcome sessions to get yours! 12noon onwards, The Union/Studio Grab your tickets before they’re gone! Missed out on the first night of Freshers?! Monday 15th September Freshers Freebie Fayre! The Freebie Fayre is not to be missed! With lots of cool promo items, free pizza from your Freshers Week sponsor Dominos, student deals and discounts galore! Pop along and grab the latest band, movie and art related posters at the lowest prices around. 10am until 6pm, The Atrium Studio Lunch Start as you mean to go on! Come along and sample the lunchtime specials on offer in Studio. We can highly recommend the macaroni cheese and chips! 12noon onwards, The Union/Studio International Students Welcome Event Following the welcome event held by the University in the Macrobert, International Students are invited to a welcome event in the Union – with some drinks, snacks and a chance to meet your Officer team, it’s a great way to find out what the Union offers for International students! 7pm until 8pm,The Union/Underground The famous Studio Pub Quiz – hosted by Your Sabbaticals! Wednesday 17th September Freshers Fayre Sports Union Bazaar Head to the Sports Centre to visit over 40 Sports Union clubs and find out what’s on offer and how you can take part! It’s also where you can get that all important Sports Union membership for the year. 10am until 4pm, Sports Centre Charity & Volunteering Fayre Volunteering is a great way to make the most of your time here at Stirling! Come and explore our Volunteering Fayre to discover what opportunities are out there - both on and off campus - how you can get involved and what to expect in return for giving up a little bit of your time. With lots of different organisations to talk to, there’s going to be something for everyone! 10am until 4pm , Atrium Freshers Ceilidh Whether you’re a seasoned pro, or don’t know your left from your right, a traditional Scottish Ceilidh is something not to be missed! Thursday 18th September Campaign Fayre The big day is here! Yes? No? Undecided? Voters across the country will be casting their vote on the Independence referendum. Come along and find out from the respective campaigns and learn more about priority campaigns for the Union for the coming year. 10am until 4pm, Atrium Pizza time! You’ll quickly discover that Studio is your campus home – why not spend some time enjoying a tasty Stone Willy’s Pizza and kicking back to the latest chart hits in HD?! 3pm-9pm, The Union/Studio Paws Against Stress Your first few days away from home can be stressful (and let’s not mention the referendum/hangover/lack of sleep) so come and relax with our Canine volunteers. Therapet bring dogs for you to pet, hug and play with so get your tickets from 10am in the Atrium (Thursday only) for this one off event! 4pm-6pm, The Union/Envy Free Open Mic Night Launch Join your Open Mic host Calum as we celebrate the best in student music – come along, have a listen or take part – it’s all about you. 9pm until 1am, The Union/Studio Free Alternative Night ft. Prides DJ set and Voltage Join the hottest new talent Prides as they bring a different vibe to Envy. Following them, your very own Rock Society introduce Voltage – their bi-weekly Rock Night held in the Union – something for everyone! Friday 19th September Student Life Day Your Students’ Union is here to Make Students’ Lives Better. At the end of the first week you might just be finding out what you don’t know. Come along to the Atrium to find out more about what the Union offers, how to get involved and discover more about Stirling (where to go and what to do) or just how to make the best of your time here as a student. Whether you want to dress for Uni, work or a party, we’ve got it all! 3pm until 4pm, Atrium AirTV Film Quiz Introducing the legendary AirTV Pub Quiz. Join the team from AirTV as they host their very special Freshers edition of their weekly Film Quiz! 8pm until 10pm, The Union/Studio Free Hot Dub Time Machine Get ready for a journey – a journey through music history!
