Heartbeats from your priest God has a plan, and we play a part in that divine plan, though unaware of where we exactly are in that plan. We can only have a glimpse of it. We continue to reflect on that these days of Advent and Christmas. We are on the final Sunday and days before Christmas. This Sunday we focus on the blessed Virgin Mary. As the Mother of Jesus, she is the closest to the Saviour, closest to the centre of the vast plan that God had in mind from the beginning. No one, including Mary herself, could ever have imagined how God was actually going to fulfil all the promises he made in the OT. His plan was too magnificent to comprehend - and it still is. He gave the prophets glimpses of it, but what they saw was like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. And the Mother of the Saviour is one of the key pieces. As we near the joyful celebration of a birthday - the birth of Jesus Christ - the joyful encounter of the old Elizabeth and the young Mary in their pregnancy opens our eyes to an important part of the plan of God, the mystery of life in the womb. Mary and Elizabeth also reveal to us the truth about ourselves: spiritually, we are all ―pregnant.‖ We carry the life of God-made-man within us. His plan is unfolding through us, as we allow His word to become flesh in us and bring his life into the world. And so, like Mary (and Elizabeth) we keep Jesus in our heart and give Him to every person we meet. But the question is: ARE YOU KEEPING HIM IN YOUR HEART AND GIVING HIM TO OTHERS? I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Fr Ed and Parish Staff Perpetual Adoration Chapel - Lidcombe 60 minutes 24 hours a day 7 days a week, our Lord Jesus and our great and faithful Friend is waiting for us in the Blessed Sacrament exposed perpetually in our newly opened Adoration Chapel.
