B.E.E.R. (Brother’s Engaged in Enriching Relationships) will have our last gathering of the year Tuesday November 22nd at 6:00 at Schulz Brau Brewery – 126 Bernard Ave. With the busy holidays, we will put a pause on meeting until after the 1st of the year. Come, bring a friend and a story or two about your most memorable turkey story! If you’re not into beer you are still very welcome as Schulz Brau has a variety of food and drink on their menu. Research on happiness consistently points to the importance of relationships and meaning in our overall wellNov. 16 | 6:30 to 8PM being. We all need relationships that are supportive, validating, and deeply connected, as well as a sense of belonging and contributing to something larger than ourselves.
Join us on Wednesday, November 16 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM for fellowship (and dessert!) to hear Clinical Psychologist, Mark LeMay, discuss wellbeing from the perspective of Positive Psychology. Meeting in the Sparks Fellowship Hall for this enlightening and educational experience with coffee and dessert! Please plan to attend!
Sunday, November 20 Following 2nd Service, come and help us ready the sanctuary and our church for the Advent Season! ALL are welcome to participate in Hanging of the Greens. A light lunch of soup and bread will be available, too!
We are collecting food items for Smokey’s Pantry through November 16. Please bring your non-perishables to the Welcome Center and place in the designated place by Wednesday, November 16. These items will be delivered to Smokey’s Pantry on Thursday, November 17 for distribution. If you have questions, please feel free to call the church office at 865-523-3330 Items donated will go directly to Smokey’s Pantry, a FISH Hospitality Pantry at UTK, at Tyson House. Their number is 865-236-1235, and the contact person for their organization is Nicole Carvagno Here is a list of items that we accept, with our current top needs listed first: - Hygiene Items (soap, shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrush) - Peanut Butter - Canned Soup - Canned Beans - Canned Meat - Canned Fruit - Canned Vegetables Additionally, the Knox Pride Center has a need for canned meat, peanut butter and protein bars, Smokey’s Pantry can distribute these, as well.
