Tuckpoint Team Update From Nancy Maland

The Tuckpoint Team has been meeting weekly since the Congregational Meeting in late January. We have been defining the scope of the exterior work and communicating with contractors. We are presently collecting bids. We have discovered that it takes time and many specialized expertise to care lovingly for a 109-year-old building.

Brothers Engaged in Enriching Relationships March 22 at Shulz Brau at 6:00 PM Fellowship: Usually meeting on the 4th Tuesday of the month, we enjoy the gift of time together for conversation. On March 22, we will mostly be catching up and reengaging this time as it has been a while since our last gathering. Please consider this a perfect time for new folks to jump into the group!

Family Promise

Invitation to the Christenberry Dream Team

Our mission is to provide a community based response that empowers and equips families experiencing homelessness and housing instability to achieve sustained independence.

The program is designed to work with all families- single, two-parent and multi-generational. The success rate is 80% in placing families in safe and secure housing.

SJLC works with First Presbyterian Church by providing two evening meals when First Pres is hosting the guests about 3-4 times a year. Our team will be providing 2 evening meals March 17 and 18!

Thea Peterson would like to invite you to become part of the Christenberry Dream Team. Don't worry, this invitation is a one-time gathering and only a 1.5-hour commitment. And there will be food!

On Sunday, March 27, we are hoping to dream and envision what collaboration looks like between SJLC and Christenberry.

Coming out of this phase of the pandemic, it is time to look at what we have done and envision what we can do to help make a significant difference for the teachers, staff, and students. It is really important to have a large group of folks who are passionate about children and educators, working together to make a true difference in our community. Let’s brainstorm some new directions for this ministry!

We will gather for a light lunch at 12:15 pm, followed by a short visioning meeting. We'll wrap up no later than 1:45 pm. The gift of your time would be such a blessing to so many!
