Parents Night Out We’ll have great adult supervision, with teens to help give individual attention to your little one. We’ll have play time, dinner, a movie, and music. Just sign up to reserve a space; let us know about your little one(s); and we will see you on Sept 2!

Please bring a blanket, a pillow, and a stuffed animal in case they get sleepy, and we will take great care of them while you go out. Just promise to pick them by 9:00!

First Friday First Friday will once again be returning to the Welcome Center from 5:30 to 7:00pm. (We have a wedding rehearsal in Sanctuary until 6:30!)

Compline Service John Tirro will provide a Compline/Night Night Service in The Sanctuary at 8:30 followed by pickup of littles at 9:00. Parents, Compline may be the perfect way to conclude your evening before picking up your children!

Knoxville Guatemala Gathering Monday, September 12 Peace Lutheran Church 621 North Cedar Bluff Road The Southeastern Synod is a companion synod with the Inglesia Luterana Augstina de Guatemala(ILAG).

Our friends Pastor Karen Castillo, president of ILAG, and Diego Gil, director of delegations, are visiting us as part of our ongoing, long-term relationship. Many of you will remember Pastor Karen from her visits to St. John’s Pre-Covid.

Come meet (or reconnect with) Pastor Karen and Diego on September 12 and learn more about the beautiful, faithful ministries of ILAG. Be a Christenberry Buddy…

What does that look like?

• Having a few volunteers from your organization come and help teachers occasionally during the school day.

• Help with classroom needs and parties.

• Furnish classroom supplies or treats.

• Be a class reader.

• Share a special skill set you have with the students.

The grade level team would work directly with you. There is no limit on how much you would need to assist, just be there for the grade level when appropriate for them and you. Grade level teams that still need adopting include 2nd and 5th grades.

All people and families, grownups and kids of all ages and kinds, are welcome to join us for Donuts and Psalms on this Sunday, September 4 at 10:00 in the Sparks Fellowship Hall. There will be fellowship time, a time to engage, whatever your age, with the psalms and music. Pastor John and Misty will lead a family-friendly time of fellowship and learning. Come eat, laugh, and sing with friends! On September 4, we’ll have a special “donut tasting” and a chance for everyone to share their favorite psalm.
