Personnel Matching Grant We have received a $10,000 anonymous grant to be used for Personnel Expenses. It is a three-year grant with the stipulation that it is matched each year. We are proud to announce that we presently have $10,500 in matching grants for a total of $20,500 for additional Personnel Expenses. That is $500 over our goal! Thank you so much for the generously of so many.

TheoPub will gather this Saturday, September 24th at 4:00 pm… We will meet at Alliance Brewing Company – 1130 Sevier Avenue in South Knoxville Please join us to enjoy time together and to discuss topics from the Lutheran perspective! For more information see Clarence or Amy sistermaryclarencenknox@yahoo.com or amy@sjlcknox.org

Meal and Porch Visit With GREAT joy, we would like to share with you a Meal and Porch Visit on October 1st. This project has been a joy for the cooks, drivers, and recipients. This has been a wonderful opportunity to spend some quality time chatting—making new church friends and enjoying old church friends! What a blessing!! NOTE: Originally on the calendar, we listed September 24th as the date for the Porch Visit. Because of some conflicts, it has been moved to October 1st. Information is going out to our regular recipients this week. If you would like to have a Porch Visit and BBQ Meal, please contact Nancy Maland at 865-964-0851.

B.E.E.R. (Brother’s Engaged in Enriching Relationships) will gather Tuesday September 27th at 6:00 at Schulz Brau Brewery – 126 Bernard Ave. We’ll start just socializing and getting caught up. Following we will discuss the use of agricultural metaphors in the Bible, focusing on what it means for us to be "planted by streams of living water." Preparation isn't necessary, but if folks want to get a sense of what we'll be pondering they can read three parables of Jesus: The Sower - Mark 4:1-20 The Growing Seed - Mark 4:26-29, and The Barren Fig Tree - Luke 13:6-9.

Knoxville Pride Parade Friday Evening, September 30. We are invited to gather at Mary Costa Park at 4 pm to line up. The Parade begins at 7:00 pm – carpooling might best because space is limited for parking For more information contact Clarence at sistermaryclarencenknox@yahoo.com
