Living Our Faith
What are some of the more important things that we are committed to doing ‘whatever it takes’? Where does God fit in that equation? In today’s gospel, Luke tells us that Jesus had the highest level of resolve to do God’s will. He wasn’t distracted or discouraged by the difficulties along his journey, even by those who would not welcome him. And those who did welcome him and professed to follow him wanted permission to do so on their own terms and in their own time. Jesus’ message today is that following him requires resolve. Anyone can join in the journey when it is convenient, or the weather is good, all the bills are paid, and life is comfortable. What Jesus asks of us is to set our eyes forward to the eternal life he has prepared for us and to do ‘whatever it takes’ to follow him. June 26, 2016

Viviendo Nuestra Fe

A PRAYER FOR VENEZUELA | Venezuela is going through
the most serious humanitarian crisis in recent times, even greater than any caused by wars or natural disasters. The social and economic deterioration has produced alarming figures that show the worst human disaster in modern history. Nowadays, many Venezuelans are suffering exorbitant gaps in health, food and supplies. In the past 2 weeks, people have rioted desperate for finding food. The answer form the Government has been repression and denial of the crisis. Many have been injured by the Police and/or National Guard, and at least 5 have died in those demonstrations. As when facing any difficult situation, besides gathering medicine and supplies, the best thing we can do is Praying! On Sunday July 10th, all are welcome to participate in “A prayer for Venezuela”. We will gather for the 1:30 PM mass, and after it, in the main church, we will share a special prayer for Venezuela and its people.
