ADVENT

The season of Advent is the start of a new liturgical year for the Church and a time to prepare our hearts for the birth of the Messiah. We invite you to deepen your relationship with the Son who humbled Himself and was born in this world to save us from our sins. Prepare with Generosity. Parish Giving Trees will be available in the Narthex and Bell Tower. Trees will be covered with tags, describing gifts that can be donated for those in need. Parishioners are invited to select tags through December 16th, purchase the gifts indicated and return all gifts (unwrapped with their tags attached) no later than December 20th. Our Parish Social Ministry programs will benefit from your generosity. Prepare with Reconciliation: Advent Penance Services are a good way to reconcile ourselves to God. St. Louis Advent Penance Services will have multiple priests available and are scheduled Wednesday, December 5, 1:30pm and 7:00pm. Prepare with Prayer: Choral Vespers are held every Sunday evening at 7:00pm. On December 2nd, we will have Solemn Vespers with Benediction and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Join us each Sunday night for beautiful Gregorian chant, a meditative way to start each new week during this busy Advent season. The Adoration Chapel during Advent is a great place to enter into the presence of our Lord. Spend time in our beautiful Perpetual Adoration Chapel which is available around the clock. Prepare with Decorations: Deck the Bushes will be held on Saturday, December 8th at 9:00am. Join us on the covered sidewalk between the Sanctuary and Church Offices. Help us deck out the greenery around the Church in a twinkling wonderland of lights. Lights are provided plus food for the volunteers! Deck the Halls with us on Saturday, December 22nd at 10:00am. Lighted Christmas trees will be up in the Chapel, Narthex and Main Nave. Plenty of ornaments for everybody, whether you climb ladders or prefer keeping your feet on the floor. Come help us “Deck the Halls” of our Church sanctuary for the Christmas season!
