Living Our Faith
It can be easy to think that God has abandoned us. But Jesus reminds us today that there is nothing farther from the truth. While he is preparing for his Ascension, he promises that we will never be orphans. In his message to the disciples, he foreshadows Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended to be with each of us always. The Holy Spirit guides us individually and collectively on our journey to eternity with God. He is the third person of the Trinity and he loves us as much as the Father and the Son. If we follow Jesus’ instructions in today’s gospel, it allows the grace of the Holy Spirit to work through us. Loving Jesus and following his commandments welcomes the Holy Spirit into our lives and allows him to be our Advocate. His grace strengthens us in difficult personal times, helps us to combat against the attacks on our morals and beliefs, and helps us to be good Catholics in the midst of all the worries and challenges that face us as church. As we journey to Pentecost, why not spend a little extra time getting to know the Holy Spirit? May 1, 2016

Viviendo Nuestra Fe

DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET | During the Year of Mercy,
we invite you to join us in praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet and selected prayers from the Diary of St. Faustina every Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel. This is a beautiful way to offer up your time and incorporate this devotional as part of your prayer discipline. Bring your rosary and come join your fellow parishioners as we unite ourselves in prayer with our Holy Father.
The timeline will be in late June through the second week of July, and we need your help to cover the $150,000 costs to repair potholes, apply a two-inch overlay of brand new asphalt, and re-stripe the lots for the best traffic flow. No contribution is too big or too small! Choose your category below and place your contribution in an envelope, separate from your Sunday tithe, indicating “parking lot” on your check memo line. Or bring your contribution by the Church Office at any time! Look what we can accomplish with your help! If 500 families gave $300 each, we’d raise $150,000!
THURSDAY CONFESSION CHANGES COMING | Effective May 5th, the THURSDAY confession schedule
will be held before the weekly 6:00 p.m. Mass rather than after Mass. Confessions will be from 5:00 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. This change allows us to extend the time for confessions on Thursdays. 3
If 1000 families gave $150 each, we’d raise $150,000! If 2000 families gave $75 each, we’d raise $150,000! Please join us in making this much needed project a reality for our parish property!
