Living Our Faith

While the most famous part of today's Gospel is the feeding of the 5000, there is another part worth paying attention to. It is the teaching moment a little earlier in the passage between Jesus and the Apostles. The Apostles have been helping Jesus as he ministers to the large crowd. When it comes time to eat, the Apostles take the position that the crowd should go and take care of themselves. Jesus has another plan. He shows the Apostles that God's love and mercy is so abundant that through him, they can extend their ministry to greater heights than they ever thought possible. This is true for each of us as well. It may not come in the form of bread and fish, but God will equip us with what we need to conduct the ministry he calls us to follow. May 29, 2016

Viviendo Nuestra Fe
