Living Our Faith
Often times, we can view the apostles as being much stronger and wiser than we are. However, that isn’t the case. They differentiated themselves because they said ‘yes’ to Jesus. But even then, even in his presence, they still doubted and worried...much like each of us can do from time to time. It can be hard to stay the course in a world that often fights against us. However, just as Jesus continued to have strong faith in the apostles, even when they had little faith in him, he has strong faith in each and every one of us regardless of the mistakes we make. He simply asks us if we are willing to say ‘yes’. And if we are, we have him, God the Father and the Holy Spirit on our side to help do his work to make disciples of all nations. This does not mean we go door-to-door asking people if they know Jesus. All of us are called, however, to show Jesus to others through our actions. St. Francis of Assisi told his followers, “Go and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and, if necessary, use words.” With Jesus, the Father and the Holy Spirit, our lives are the best examples of God’s love and his forgiving mercy.
Viviendo Nuestra Fe

As we wind down the year, we are happy to recognize all the successes of our students who work hard throughout the year. On May 14, we celebrated our student athletes and all their accomplishments for the year. Of the 8 sports that St. Louis offers our 5th-8th grade, 91% of our eligible students participate. This year was a record holding year, with 8 new 1st place banners hanging in the gym. Select SLCS Alumni were chosen to come back and talk to the students about their current experiences and how St. Louis has impacted their lives. We are pleased to know that they are still making us proud, representing us across the US and even in China! We are so proud of all of our students and their accomplishments! Society sponsors a popular Austin area tour of exceptional ponds featuring Koi, landscaping and water features. This year the Father Larry Covington designed pond, located behind the rectory, will be a featured pond on the tour. Tour admissions for the two day tour, June 6 and 7 are $20 prior to the tour and $25 the days of the tour, (children under 12 free), but parish families can view the pond during the tour hours at no charge by identifying themselves as St. Louis members.
