THE PARISH ADVENT PENANCE SERVICES are early
this year…Thursday, December 1st! Mark your calendars for the 1:30pm and 7:00pm services in the sanctuary. The regularly scheduled 5:00pm confessions before 6:00pm Spanish Mass will not be held that Thursday only. We urge you to take advantage of these parish Penance Services where multiple priests from around Austin will be available as confessors. A 12 NOON COMMUNION SERVICE will be held on
Tuesday, November 29th, instead of the regularly scheduled Mass. There will be no Confessions at 11:15am that day, due to our priests being away from the parish at a diocesan function. The 6pm Spanish Mass will be held as scheduled that evening.
DECK THE BUSHES!! Bring the whole family and come
help us deck the bushes on Saturday morning, December 3rd, starting at 8:00am. Meet at the covered sidewalk on the south side of Church. The lights will be ready to string…..we just need YOU! Refreshments will be provided to keep up your energy and holiday spirit! Thank you for helping us “light up” this annual Christmas tradition at St. Louis!

ANNOUNCEMENTS PARISH GIVING TREES will be available in the Narthex and
Bell Tower this weekend (Nov 26-27). Families are asked to take as many of the paper ornaments as you wish, purchase the designated items and return them to the parish (unwrapped) by December 18th. The gifts this year will benefit our parish ministries of Gabriel Project, St. Vincent de Paul Society, and the St. Louis Mobile Loaves and Fishes. Please don’t wrap the gifts but do attach the tag! Thank you for your generosity as we help the neediest of our parish area! CHRISTMAS CHORAL BENEFIT | This is Drive

Join us December 2 at 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. in the church. Admission is free. Bring your friends and family and have an evening to brighten your heart! At the same time, you will be helping your neighbors. What would you do if you could no longer drive your car? How would you get to the doctor’s office, grocery store, or bank? Proceeds go to Drive a Senior – North Central Austin, a 501(c) (3) non-profit that provides 3,900 free rides to help over 300 seniors each year. https://christmaschoral.eventbrite.com
A NATIONAL COLLECTION FOR RETIRED CLERGY AND RELIGIOUS will be held in our parish on the weekend
of December 3-4. Often after years of service, with limited retirement savings, our Catholic sisters, brothers and priests face a financial crisis. Because of rising health care costs, the need is even greater than in years past. Please give generously to this annual fund that began in 1988. Use your special envelope for this purpose, found in your monthly or quarterly envelope packets. Place it in the regular collection that first weekend of December! THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS, COUNCIL 5967, will start donating part of
their Sunday Breakfast profits to our St. Louis Parish Ministries. For the month of December, the Posadas Ministry will be our featured charity, so come by to Wozniak the first 3 Sundays in December after 6.00am, 7.30am, and 9.30am Masses to enjoy delicious breakfast for all parishioners.
TRAVELING VOCATIONS CHALICE PROGRAM | To encourage religious
vocations, St. Louis Parish has launched this Chalice Program. Each Sunday an assigned family, couple or individual will come forward at the end of a specified Mass to receive the Vocations Chalice and a special prayer written to accompany it. In taking the chalice in behalf of our parish, the household commits to praying that week for the gift of priests, deacons, sisters and brothers in our Diocese. For more information or to sign up, please contact Catholic Vocations Advocates of Austin at CVAATX@gmail.com. 3
St. Louis Parish now has blue recycling cans in every office and building on campus! Those using facilities are asked to recycle with us. The blue recycle cans accept paper, glass, aluminum, plastic and cardboard items. In Wozniak Hall, parishioners can use the large blue containers in the kitchen the same way they use the trash containers. Just dump recycled items into the large recycling dumpster outside, at the end of their events. Help us help the environment!! Recycle with us! RECYCLE-RECYCLE-RECYCLE!
LANDMARK ANNIVERSARIES for 2016 will be recognized
December 17-18. Couples married in the Catholic Church for 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55 or 60 years or more in 2016 will be given certificates signed by Bishop Joe Vasquez. These certificates will be presented that weekend at the 5pm Vigil, 9:30am and 1:30pm Masses. Please notify us with your names, your anniversary date and the Mass you would like to attend that weekend. Deadline to sign-up is December 10th. Contact us by email at bulletin@st-louis.org (preferred) or by calling (512) 454-0384 x 209 with your information. You may also choose to pick-up your certificate at the Church Office after December 18th. ST. LOUIS FARM MINISTRY will not be holding a monthly
work day during December, but we still need your help. As you do your fall yard work, please bring us your bagged leaves! We spread these leaves between rows of vegetables to act as a natural weed barrier and enrich the soil. It’s an easy way to help the Farm and get rid of bags of leaves. If interested, contact stlouisfarmatx@gmail.com to let us know and leave your bags of leaves next to the Farm gate near the corner of St. Joseph and Hardy Street, anytime in the next month. PRAYER BLANKET SALE IS COMING! Just in time for
Christmas shopping, the Prayer Blanket Ministry is having their holiday sale on the weekend of December 3-4 in the Narthex. Thank you to all who have supported the sale previously. This ministry uses their sale proceeds to purchase liturgical items for the Church and they have been so generous in the past because of your support! New members with knowledge of sewing are welcome to join this ministry. They meet the third Monday evening of every month at 7:00pm. Contact Evelyn Janecka at 512-453-6466 for more information!

YOUR ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY made 6 home visits during the week ending on 11 October. We
helped 4 families with utility bills and 2 with rent. One case was that of a woman with 2 kids who is currently living in her boyfriend’s apartment. She has a green card and a retail job, but is only getting a few hours each week. She is looking for a better job so that she can afford her own apartment. She needs help to pay off an old $400 utility account balance before she can open a new utility account for a new apartment. Because of your support, we were able to pay $200 towards her balance. We also gave her a $20 HEB gift card. Our volunteers concluded their visit by praying with her. MUSIC MINISTRY
