Abstract This part of literature presents a proposed methodology which links the rural livelihood with space products derived applications for improvement of their Quality of Life (QOL) whilst overcoming existing challenges often faced by the workforce in solving grass root problems. Existing Information and communication technology practices an essence of this theme through various projects undertook by government of India and many are in progress. Keeping in view of contemporary advancements, this proposal has prepared with an ease to serve man-kind via space derived products like Ku band and its derived products.

Abstract The advancement of technology has shrunk the world into a global village. Though geographical barriers of the nation’s exist in reality but communication has made these barriers fade away. The information is passed in such a speed that by the touch of the button; an individual is able to access an ocean of information. Thanks to internet for making this magic. The same internet has created a society unto itself and the concept of networking has given way to building of relationships across nations. Special types of websites known as Social Networking Sites have come into existence. They have created a bond between people of different countries across the globe; helped then for knowledge sharing; voicing out their ideas over common issues and helping one another. To say they have given birth to a new concept called global community.

Abstract Academic libraries today are complex institutions with multiple roles and a host of related operations and services developed over the years. Developing information technology has enabled academic libraries to move from traditional paper-based environments toward networked electronic ones. Developments in computers, microelectronics, and communication technologies have radically changed the library and information environment. A great number of global information resources are available to libraries now. The discussion focuses on the planning, organization and implementation and barriers of user in academics libraries. It also discusses the influence of information technology on user education and it is how users are introduced to OPACs, CD-ROMs and internet where available. Finally, the paper explores the possibilities of cooperation in the implementation of user education programmers in academic libraries in the digital environment.
